Waited on hold for 17 minutes this morning, and finally got through to a GG specialist. Wanted to make some changes to a couple of our ressies.

Long story short, I make mention of the wait time today - and we get into a convo about the possible big deal people think is coming out today. She actually felt "bad for people who woke up early, thanks to online boards".

So, I guess we keep waiting...

Almost 10AM on the east coast and nothing new on the site. I will be so bummed if the announcement was the 180 day ADRS. That is actually sad news to me b/c I know my family can't get their act together to decide if they are going or not and it they are which week in Aug 2010 would they be going.

Last time we had the 180 day ADRs we called about 90 days out and get some decent places, but when it was 90 days I called that morning and got Le Cellier and Chef Mickey's, which I could not get last time. OT i know, but just making conversation while we are all waiting for this "big announcement".

For those who noticed the WDW "Special Offers" page is blank. Are you using IE?

This morning, I can't get the WDW Special Offers to load in IE. However, it does show up in Firefox. Nothing new has been posted, but thought I should mention what I discovered!

Hmmm... I use Safari and since 0630 it had been showing the same old "specials" while others reported that it was blank. Could they be updating it one operating system at a time?

When I listened to the podcast they were talking overall how disney is not making enough money at the theme parks and they are doing everything possible in order to get people to the parks and spend $.

they also talked about how the 4 for 3 deal was NOT as successfull as originally was thought to be, yes it got people to the parks but guests were still not spending enough money to justify another 4 for 3 deal.

then one of the podcast members just happened to mention about another "possible" discount being released on 8/12 it was just SPECULATION and something he had heard but nothing concrete.

imo once this new deal was not listed ahead of time on mousesavers or elsewhere beforehand was a red flag to me that a new discount was not going to be released today. sorry personally I think this thread just took a life of its own based on speculations.

but hey I hope I am wrong and a discount is released today but i seriously doubt it

I have never heard anything from the podcast be wrong. But there is always a first.

Go to "LISTEN NOW" on the top of the Podcast Page and pull up the Discussion show from 8/5/09.

At 14:50 min into the show they start talking about it. This is following talking about the increase in ticket prices.

Here is what he says:

"We are hearing that a new discount may be released, rumor has it, a new discount may be released on August 12 similar to the 7 for 4 promotion. However, the word on the street is 7 for 4 but much more complicated."

For the first time for me today it is blank. I'm using Safari (Mac OS), those using IE now report that it's showing the same old specials, but some using IE earlier said it was blank, but Firefox wasn't.
