TheNeverEndingPTR! Sept2010...no, November...WAIT! January?Ugh. maybe September 2011!

Hey, I didn't say I wasn't going back UNTIL her 16th birthday! Are you nuts?!?!?!

I really do want to see the Xmas decorations, so I'm sure I will try to find a way to get there someday. They are up in November as well, so maybe...hmmmm...already planning a fall trip for Rey & I (20th anniversary!) so maybe 2012?!? Not sure how healthy it is to have an obsession with something I can't seem to actually make happen! :lmao:

Nope! It's not Christmas at WDW until after T'giving. You have to see it ALL. All the resorts decorated, all the park dolled up and all the parades going. It's not Christmas with Mickey without it ALL.

Just give it up, girl. One day I'll drag you there in actual December. Just you wait and see.

Thanks Stephanie!! I saw that you paid off your trip and you are planning a cruise too! Congrats!!! :cool1:

I found a nice house for us to rent, $860 total for the whole week in Jan! I'm not going to post any specifics yet b/c I don't have the money for the deposit yet, but I'm still hopeful!! :thumbsup2

So sorry I was slacking. On the positive side, I missed all the gloom and doom, and I'm happy to see that you're determined to make it work! It's totally worth it to cut corners elsewhere to be able to take a trip. Everyone could use a vacation every once and awhile! I can't wait to see some new plans!

I really haven't made any plans b/c I'm pretty certain that we won't be able to go in Jan. either. I'm ok with it, I've kind of let it go and moved on to other things. I still lurk around the DIS and I know we'll be back someday!

Disney keeps taunting me though, not only did they release free dining, but then they sent me a pin for free dining (no blackouts) for all of fall! I think they just like to keep me pining for Disney! ;) I even tried to price a cheap trip the third week of October for Savannah's 10th birthday, just her and I, with free dining, but I don't think I could pull that off either. The people who say that money doesn't buy happiness haven't ever been without I think! :p

At least I'm on the email list somehow, which means hopefully in the future I'll get another pin when we are capable of going. It's been fun doing the neverending PTR, maybe someday in the future I'll revive it! :lovestruc

aww, well, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll keep my eyes out for whenever it is you start a PTR again!

Not sure if I will continue with this neverending PTR or start another, but I have a plan in the workings (don't I always?!?!?) :rotfl2: Can't pass up the free dining in 2011, so I'm looking at trying to book for the last week in Sept. beginning of Oct. next year with the free dining pin I got. (I believe it's the same as the public offer) I have until Dec. 20th to book, so hopefully I will be able to pull it off and slowly pay on it all year!

I'm a persistent one. Never say die, right?!?!? ;)

Thanks my friend! :lovestruc

A brief explanation for my insane neverending PTR:
I know it might seem like sheer insanity to continue to postpone our WDW trips like this, so I felt like I need to put a little explanation here. We don't have a lot of money. It's been a horrible year, Rey had to give up his truck and go back to being a company driver, we got close to losing our house, I owe friends money...and I think for most people who are on the DIS, this might be a little foreign. Saving for a trip is a difficult thing when you barely have enough for everyday. I know some people will say then you shouldn't take a trip...and I'm NOT...that's why I keep postponing. It doesn't mean we don't deserve a trip though or we should give up and never get one.

I have high hopes and planning a trip gives me future hope that we'll get a break from the stress of financial issues, but for obvious reasons, we can't go on a trip if the bills aren't paid. That is why I've continued to push off the trip but not completely give up.

If I just give up and say we aren't going until further notice, I feel like all the hard work and struggle is for nothing. Sometimes it's hard not to get resentful that the people who need a vacation and to get away from it all, can't afford it, but that's life I guess.

I won't give up though and if I pinch my pennies we should be able to slowly pay for this trip in a year and how wonderful will it feel to finally be able to go after all this planning, dreaming, and hoping?!?!? I know it will be truly magical. pixiedust:

So, I just wanted to post that b/c I wanted it to be clear that I'm not being wishy-washy or irresponsible, I'm just a dreamer. If we can't have our dreams, what do we have? :lovestruc

We'll get there, I feel it in my bones. It's just going to take some time and hard work.

Hey Karen.......

I know what it's like to be in such debt that everyday is a struggle, but you and Rey are doing the best you can for your family. You will get there!!! And until then, we all still want to read what's happening with you and the family! Hang in there! :hippie:

Thanks Ann! :goodvibes I forgot, did you decide on POR or ASMU in the end? I'm looking at the free dining offer next Sept. and it's cheaper for us to stay at POR as a family of 5. If you are staying there you have to promise to take lots of pics and tell me all about it! Your wedding and trip are so close now!!!!! :cool1:

We are still going to POR! If you add the $10 per person per day to upgrade to the DP there came up to be a little over $300 difference from ASMu to POR. Since this is such a special trip, we decided to just "go for it". Of course there will be tips, etc, but it will all be ok. I really want to take the boat to DTD!!! Next trip will be at a value with the QS plan, but this one is special. I will definitely take lots and lots of pictures. Yes, the wedding is in 17 days and Disney is in 22 days. ;)

Yay! I can't wait to hear all about it, you'll have to do a big TR too! Heehee, now YOU are my personal photographer, how did we do that switcheroo?! ;)

I'm sorry Karen. :grouphug:
I don't think anybody would fault you for dreaming about your future trip, even if it takes longer to get there than you'd like. For me, that's the magic of Disney - Never give up on your dreams! I admire your perseverance and faith in a more positive future.
Although it may seem like everyone on the Dis has more $$$ than you do, remember that most Americans are living beyond their means. Just because people are spending money on Disney doesn't mean they can really afford it.
I hope that you find yourself with a bright future and that your future includes a magical trip to Disney!

Amanda

Thanks Amanda! I see you are planning a trip for next year as well! Did you do a TR yet for the trip you just made? I haven't been on the boards as much as usual, just wondering if I missed it!

Hey Karen! Glad to see you back around these parts! I know exactly what you mean. It feels better to keep the plans going, even if they have to be changed or keep getting pushed out. It gives you a goal - and motivation! I hope 2011 will be a better year for you guys (heck, for all of us!):goodvibes
