TheNeverEndingPTR! Sept2010...no, November...WAIT! January?Ugh. maybe September 2011!

Hey, Karen, we'll have something to celebrate! The 8th anniversary of Gotcha Day! I picked that teeny little kid up on Veteran's Day and we celebrate some way or another each year. We'll have to do something to commemorate the occasion. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you're getting excited! :woohoo: You're going to have so much fun seeing the Christmas decorations and when I'm on my trip I'll still be thinking of how much you helped make sure it was a fun trip for us! :goodvibes

Whew, gmail stopped processing my disboards mail, and here you are, changing dates!

I don't think that's a gmail issue because I've got yahoo mail and I'm not getting my emails either. :confused3

We have a Gotcha Day, too - April 15, which is also my sister's birthday. She's the one who adopted. My niece was born in Guatemala. So cool that you'll get to celebrate Gotcha Day in Disney! :)

Gotcha Day is great. I'm happy for your sister's family. I don't know what we'd do without our Bella.

I'm so glad that it looks like you found some dates that will work! Disney is BEAUTIFUL all done up for Christmas. :goodvibes

You never know. I might be able to squeeze a few bucks out of my budget (since I have nearly two extra months to save) for us all to go to our favorite buffet..... :cool1:

Mmmmmm....Boma. :lovestruc

We MUST do something for Gotcha Day! :cool1:

First, I'm glad you're letting yourself have your feelings about changing the date. As a counselor, I always tell my clients, "Feel what you feel." Forcing yourself to feel happy when you feel sad doesn't work and just makes the sadness more acute. So, good for you.

And secondly, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! You (hopefully) get to go on your trip! You will love all the magic and wonder of Disney at Christmas! It's really a blessing to get to participate in what feels like a pretty major transformation for the holidays. The parks, the resorts, the restaurants... they all get dressed up for the holidays, and it's quite beautiful! And though it might be busy, it won't hold a candle to the week between Christmas and New Year's (I've been during that time, and it's a madhouse but totally doable. We never waited for more than 20 minutes for a ride). Think of the pictures! And the memories! And the opportunities to see Christmas lights at Disney at OFSDL (Osbourne...), on the Castle, and I've got to tell you, the Christmas version of IllumiNations is, IMHO, even better than the regular version. Do you know anything about it? If not, I can tell you unless you don't want it to be spoiled. It really gave me and my family a moment of feeling connected to everyone in the park at that moment, even more so than the regular IllumiNations. I think this could be a fantastic trip, and you'll get to live vicariously through Hope's trip, and she through yours.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming trip!

Wait...something I don't know about WDW?!?!? And here I thought I had done all my research! I'm finding that I passed over all the Christmas info on WDW whenever encountering it b/c I thought I wouldn't ever get to see them!

I'm starting to get really excited!

Your wish is my command! We now have an ADR for 6:05pm at Boma on our arrival day (GOTCHA DAY!!!!) :lovestruc I even noted that it was Gotcha Day in the reservation. :goodvibes

Love the new ticker!
I can imagine the disappointment in having to wait even longer for your trip and having to give up the plans you had already made. I'm sorry. :flower3:
I still think your November trip will be spectacular!!! We were in Disney in early December and it was SO magical!!!

Amanda

The itinerary so far! I'm sure it might change a bit, but I wanted to work things so that we were there on Gotcha Day and make sure we had the ADR's we might want OOP. We're going to be exploding with food, so we'll probably have food credits to take food on the drive home as well! It ended up fitting better in 7 days, so hopefully I can scrounge up the money for that extra day. Our Sept. trip was 7 days, but Savannah is going to be considered an adult now, so it's a little more expensive. I decided against hoppers, so we will have 6 day base tickets.

Love the itinerary! I wonder if we'll really end up going to all the other resorts....that Disney bus :headache: can take forever. Oh wait, we'll have your car! Never mind. :woohoo:

Oh yes, we have a car! :thumbsup2 The reason I have some of the resorts is b/c it was quite a feat finding CS places to eat where Savannah & I would have some options. I didn't want to have to search like we did last time for a meal! I'm more prepared this time.

Hmmmm....Savannah will be an "adult" but many times wanting to eat a child's meal (mac-n-cheese is my bet!). I think I remember reading that it's ok to order off the kids menu if you want, right??? :confused3

Hey, M.A.- Will you wear a xmas shirt with your name on it??? :rolleyes1

I dunno. But I'd love to have matching Gotcha Day shirts for my girl and me.

She can still order from the child's menu. Both of my kids are Disney adults so I already looked into it.

I was thinking about your change of plans today while I was driving to my friend's house...(that's not weird, right? :lmao:)...and I realized I never asked how your kids are doing with the idea of changing dates...I know you said Savannah didn't want to go unless if was Halloween, and I know the girls would have had fun at WDW together! Just thinking about your families today! :goodvibes You'll find some way to live vicariously through each others trips anyway, so that will be fun.

Thinking about me while driving to your friend's house...weird? Not in my world! The kids are ok with it. Savannah was disappointed to not go with Kya, I think she would have been crushed if M.A. and Ella weren't coming b/c then she would have no friends, so that helped a little. The boys are fine with it, they are pretty laid back and the kids know and understand the financial crisis we are going through, so I think they realize they are lucky to go at ALL, if we go.

Kya was dissapointed as well but bounced back pretty quickly. I just reminded her of how much fun we've had on family trips in the past and this will be even better because it's DISNEY! She perked right up. :)

What will you do about the Epcot/Friend shirt? I told Savannah that I didn't feel comfortable making them now b/c that was supposed to be her & Kya's shirt. *sniff*

I know the girls would have had fun but Kya will have a blast. I can just imagine her huge smile now.
