I've been racking my brain all day trying to decide what Disney theme best fits my ideas for our wedding. We are planning to have a tailgating/cookout style rehearsal dinner hopefully similar to the one on the DVD with Mickey at FW.... (I can't think of what they called it.) For the actual ceremony we really don't have any specific ideas. We haven't really talked much about the music or anything that would really set a theme during that part of the wedding, all I know is that I want my princess ball gown, so I guess it'll probably be a "princessy" theme if that makes sense... For the reception though we would really like a reception at the Boardwalk with a big band feel. Lots of 40's elegance with Frank Sinatra style music. Everything that we're really set on for our wedding is kind of random in my opinion, but we really like them, so I don't want to change them too much. I tried thinking about tying the princesses to this, but I didn't get past the ceremony... Can anyone think of a theme that could relate all these themes, or should I just choose one theme that doesn't really tie in all the bigger aspects surrounding our wedding?

What are your colors? Maybe it can be your colors that tie everything together. Use more of a fairytale theme instead of princess? Maybe kind of think of the old movies with the large ballgowns.

You could have older images of Mickey and Minnie from the 40's around your reception. You could look at royal weddings around the 40's as well. Grace Kelly (though married in 1956) is one of the most iconic brides ever or Queen Elizabeth II (1947). You could follow some of their styles, which is still very princess and yet have the 40's look you want.

I think since you are having the Princess Ball Gown. I would do a fairytale theme... That is really romantic

I think an "old Hollywood" vibe would be nice. That's about as close to a theme as I'll be doing for my wedding, but it evokes such strong, classic, elegant imagery.

ours is going to be "Happily Ever After..." which is pretty broad and can have several different elements to it. for example i am pretty set on using the princesses somewhere but DF likes mickey and minnie stuff better so we can use both since mickey and minnie are obviously living happily ever after :thumbsup2

i also really like PrincessBride07's suggestion...very classy!
