I would love to take my children to stay in a themed room like Cinderella Castle but I wasn't sure it was worth it?

To my knowledge, there are no rooms themed like Cinderella Castle. However, you could get a Royal Room at POR, or a Pirate Room at CBR. :goodvibes

As far as worth it....do you think you would like it? Is it something you wouldn't mind paying for? If you answered yes to both of those, than it's probably worth it.

If I was staying at POR, I would certainly dish out the extra money to stay in a Royal Room, because I think it's cute.

Worth it is a very subjective question. Good luck deciding! :goodvibes

The GF has rooms that sorta look like they were meant for a princess. POR regular room in the mansion side would do just fine too. Boardwalk and Beach club have rooms that are elegant too.

Most of the WDW resorts have themed rooms, in that they are decorated heavily to reflect the resort that they are in. The value resorts are more overtly themed with huge painted icons, etc.

As PPs have mentioned, there are certain resorts that have very Disneyesque decor, such as the Art of Animation rooms and suites, the Royal Rooms at POR, and the pirate rooms at CBR. Whether they are worth the extra cost over a standard room at the same or comparable Disney resort is extremely subjective. Personally, I'd rather upgrade to a preferred location, but again, that is just my preference.

As for Cinderellas Castle- you can't rent a room there. And there are no Cinderella-themed rooms at any resort.

Just remember that your kids are going to be asleep for most of the time your family spends in the room unless you are ONLY going for the room.

I think parents often have a tendency to focus on making their kids as happy as possible, without weighing the incremental benefit each add-on offers.

With some kids you will have to worry about overstimulating them. An unthemed room can proved a way to turn-off your kids' excitement at night and allow them to rest.

And lastly, if I had extra money and was taking kids, I would spend the money to stay on the monorail loop to allow for quick transportation and napping-in-room options.

Depends on whether the cost is worth it to you or not - the extra $$ can go towards other fun stuff at Disney like the tours etc. That said, we stayed in one of the Royal Rooms at PORS last year - no kids - the theming was great. Staying on-site at a Disney Resort adds to the experience, no matter the resort :)

Potc definitely NOT! They were dingy & very very far from food court/main pool

We stayed in a pirate room at CB last May and was worth it. And only reason we stayed at CB.

We didn't tell our DS and we loved it. It was very well themed.

Did it that one time but wouldn't do it again.

LOVE the royal rooms at POR!!! I just want to be totally immersed in Disney theming and the values, royal rooms, and pirate rooms do that for me. I know rooms are themed based on the resort theme, but to me those are just another hotel with some hidden Mickey's that are in the wrong location (for example, a New Orleans theme which I could get if I went to New Orleans that just happens to be in Florida.)

For a couple of our trips we stayed in a theme room, first the pirate rooms at CB and then we stayed in a royal room at POR. We weren't planning to stay in the theme room the second time but the royal rooms were all that were available at POR at the time we booked our vacation so rather then picking a different resort we decided to upgrade to the royal rooms. I do think they are nice but we probably wouldn't stay in them again only because I'd rather put the money toward something else. Also the pirate rooms were pretty far from the main building.

I've always wanted to stay in one of these rooms! I've always gone back to the Poly though! Maybe next time I book, I can stay a couple nights here! I think the rooms look great and for any Disney fan, they would be worth it!

I think its worth it to stay on property for the convenience mainly but also for the feel of being immersed in Disney everywhere you go. I have stayed outside the parks and even though we still had fun you don't have the same experience as staying on property. It's just my opinion
