Themed pools are overrated!

Unfortunately, Pool Hopping is not allowed..sorry!

Not technically, but we won't go there!

We also choose the resort based on the pool. We may spend 3 out of 7 days at the parks and choose to relax by the pool the other 4, so it is pretty important to us too. Ironically DS prefers the quiet pools too!

I only wish the pools at the luxury resorts had more seating. Even during off peak hours and off-season, I've had to hunt for a seat. This can be quite problematic with children to watch. While I love AKL, it has to have the worst seating arrangement of all the pools. You cannot even see the pool from many of the lounge chairs.

We pick our resorts based on the pool too. I love the "quiet" pool at the POlY! So everyone else is at the "ugly" volcano. And we are with a small select group of prople NOT at the volcano pool. Also like the PORS everyone at the main pool we are at the quiet pool by our room. Nice and quiet. Quiet pools are really an over looked comodity at wdw. But its a best kept secret.

In addition, I agree with the previous poster's preference for the quiet pools. The Polynesian's East Pool, the smaller pools at either end of the Yacht and Beach Club resorts, the Bay Lake pool at the Contemporary - this is the best place to enjoy that pina colada!
