What themed dining options would you recomend for family with 15-21 year olds?

Thanx

Not sure what you mean by 'themed'. Depending on how you interpret that, most of the restaurants at WDW are themed.

Do you mean restaurants that offer some kind of interaction/participation? The two that come to mind are Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge, and 50's Prime Time at MGM.

If you give us some more info on the kind of experience you're looking for, we can offer better advice.

I'd go with Primetime. It's meant to be cheesey and fun, so nobody has anything to get annoyed with!

Our kids, especially the 15 yr old loves, loves, LOVES... BOMA at the AKL!
She also loves Crystal Palace request a window table near the castle....very magical and a really good buffett!!!!!!!

50s prime time is great if you get a good server. We had Loukili and he was AMAZING! Had us in stitches the whole time. However the food isn't that great (in my opinion).

For better food and great atmospheres I would 100% recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe. Also the high tea at the Grand Floridian is a really nice teen/adult experience. There's enough food to be considered a lunch. Also, I can never get enough of Ohana at the Polynesian. GREAT for dinner. Big tables, family style dining with giant skewers of shrimp, steak, turkey, pork. Hawaiian music. Also Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you've never been over to the Lodge GO!!! It's so much fun. You can have fantastic African-inspired buffet (they have American food too) at Boma and then go watch animals at the Lodge's private savanna.

For all of these things I would recommend reservations.

Bon Appetit!

Sorry guys and gals, I meant "entertainment" with the meal.

Have done Wispering Canyon and Hoop dee doo (many years ago).

I'd like to surprise the family with some comical and exciting meals and hopefully catch them by surprise during and after running the parks.

Which of those mentioned might fit the bill? Is the entertainment only offered during dinner or lunch also? If both which is a better time?

We did a local Tepanyaki grill and were lucky enough to get the Head Chef. I have been to others where they bang knives and such and flip the food for excitement but this guy wasn't banging knives and had us in stitches with joke after joke while cooking.

'Ohana for breakfast or dinner....lots of fun & great food!!
Also characters with breakfast :thumbsup2

When DS was 21, he loved Sci-Fi. Only I had to explain to him about the speakers-nowadays the sound comes thru the radio at drive-ins. And if they like sports, you should eat at ESPN.

We though O'hana was great! "Cousin Cliff" cracked us up the whole time....Although I should mention that it was our night out with out DS (almost 3 years old at the time) and we had a few cocktails prior to dinner. Still, excellent food and entertainment. Good Luck!

Where and exactly what is Sci-Fi?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sci-Fi is in MGM over by the Star Tours ride if I'm correct. I'm 21 too and think that 50s Primetime is fun and different and have been to Sci-Fi every time I've been to WDW. It has decent burgers and is nice and cold on the inside on a hot day, good atmosphere with old horror ads for movies. We always laugh at how cheesey the movies used to be. In fact, it's the only place we plan to eat at next time in MGM.

Yes - Sci-Fi is near the Star Tours ride - the inside looks like a drive in theatre, - your seats are in cars....facing a move screen - it's always night inside and the movie previews and short clips are running from "B" horror movies.....most of the seating is in "cars" and so if your group is large enough you could have a car to yourselves.....however...the seats are like cars with a front, middle and back and you can't really have good conservations except to your seat buddy...

Our family really likes the place - food is decent....ruben sandwich really good, decent burger....beer/wine for us grown-ups and milkshakes for kids...

Ohana has those kid activities and great food. Prime Time is really fun too. If you're interested in character meals, Crystal Palace is my favorite. LTT has good food too, if you want to see the "classic" characters minus Mickey.

Looks like PrimeTime is it for MGM.

What kind of entertainment can I expect at Ohana and Boma during the meal?
