Which theme park view is better at Grand Californian? The one overlooking Grizzly Peak/Golden State area or Paradise Pier area? Thanks for your help!

I didn't know the hotel offered a choice. I thought they gave your theme park view request as whatever is available. We stayed in a room last year just to the right of the GC's entrance into CA....overlooking Grizzly Run, and to the left, Soarin'. We loved it. It seemed as though we were right in the park. The rooms that look over toward Paradise Pier are much further away from the park...makes it seem as though you're looking at Paradise Pier through a camera. (Does that make sense?) Our room, even at night, was very quiet. We had friends that had a courtyard view (they hated it) and others who overlooked Downtown Disney...again, they didn't like that....couldn't go out on the balcony (no privacy) and they said it was noisy.
Hope this helps a little. By the way, does the GC offer a choice of theme park views when booking??

Sorry, one thing I should add....the view of Paradise Pier, especially at Christmas, is very nice at night....with all the lights. You just can't see anything close up, and don't have that "in the park" feel.

Thanks for the info. And I don't know if they offer a choice or not, but I was at least going to ask!

We've had the Grizzly River Rapids view twice and it is truly magical. Can't wait for our next visit this spring.

We had the Grizzly Peaks view and it was awesome!

Thanks for the help everyone. I called yesterday and requested the Grizzly Peak view. They put in the request in, but said it would not be guaranteed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

King Triton,
When are you going to Disneyland? That will make a big difference as to whether you get what you requested. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

I am Soooo jealous!!! I want to go NOW! (Do I sound like a whiney two year old?)
King.....You have picked an excellent time to go...I'd bet anything you'll get your wish! Have a great time, say hi to the Kingdom....tell Mickey we'll see him soon. Be sure to post when you get back. Let us know how your room was!
