Theme Park Tickets - Help!

We have just checked our theme park tickets and discovered that we need an adults ticket for our son who is 12 years

Can anyone recommend someplace that is cost effective for theme park tickets, as I believe that you can buy them direct from Disney but at a premium, is this correct?

Mousesavers is a good website that offers discount codes once you sign up for their email newsletter. It comes out every month- offering some decent discounts. I've also bought from Undercover Tourist online. And AAA offers about a 10% discount.

Another option is to sign him up for YES education program. I don't know exactly how this works since we waited to long to look into it last time. But my understanding is you take a 3 hour class at disney(variety of subjects geared toward kids) Then you can buy tickets at a DEEP discount price. Google search Disney YES program individual (it used to be just for groups but it opened up to individuals.) If there is an open age appropriate class this is the best way to save some good $$ > There is a YES thread here on the budget board.

I just posted on your other thread. If you bought a child ticket by mistake, you should be able to take it to Guest Services and upgrade it to an adult ticket by paying the difference. I'd do this at GS in the parks instead of at your resort, but you can ask at the resort.

If you have an old ticket that your son used on a previous trip and it is not expired, Disney will convert it to an adult ticket at no charge.
