I've read of several shortcuts in the WDW theme parks - like going through the Rainforest Cafe gift shop to avoid long entry lines to AK.

Anyone have any other interesting shortcuts to share?

...is one that may not be so secret, but it's a big help. (The Unofficial Guide touts this, btw.)

To get to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder, right after the rope drop, skidaddle through Adventureland, and make a hard right through the shooting gallery passageway. That'll bring you out right along the main drag for Frontierland. Bear left and there you go.

To get from Frontierland (specifically Splash and Thunder) to Tomorrowland during parades, or when the park is particularly crowded, take the WDW Railroad from the Frontierland station (above the Splash entrance) to the Toontown Fair station (about a 5 minute trip) and take the pathway to the left of the station exit.

Something I always do is I take the sharp right the plaza restaurant to get to Tomorrowland, faster than walking up to the hub then going right.

We did this once at rope drop. We ended up coming out WELL before the others from the other bridge. Security personell were posted there. They made us wait until the group got to us.

If you're trying to get down Main Street during the parade or heavy traffic times, you can enter the first emporium shop and walk all the way through the shops until you get to Casey's (or vice versa if leaving the park).

We got to the Magic Kingdom gates at 9:05 and the train was just getting ready to pull out. We ran up the stairs and got on just as they were ready to leave. When we got off in Frontier land we headed straight to SM and there was no line. When we finsihed the ride their was still no one waiting to ride so we got to go around again. It was great.

EPCOT: Take the side path to World Showcase in front of the octagon building next to Test Track. Also, entering the parks through World Showcase next to France.
MK: Take the path less beaten between Tomorrowland and Mickey's Toon Town that runs close to the railroad.
MK and MGM: During parades, cut through shops.

Just an example of how a TINY bit of thinking can help you...

When leaving the park the line for the monorail back to the TTC and parking is enormous.... so don't take it. Instead board the monorail on the platform which goes to the other resorts on the loop. It goes the opposite way around the loop, but still ends up at the TTC and has a WAY smaller line.

Sssshhhhh........

We did this by accident. The lines were prohibitive at the TTC monorail, and we just decided to see the resorts instead of waiting in line. We pulled up to the TTC and marvelled at our own stupidity for not having figured this out before.

I've seen this tip here before so it's not that much of a secret, but I'm sure it still works.

What's funny is the sign does say "monorail resorts and TTC," but no one seems to notice! This is one of my best secrets, so let's keep it on the down low :)

Just be careful when doing this, when we were there in November a cast member was asking people to show their hotel cards!!!
