Theme Park Attire

I know that everyone has a story about this...(I wish I had taken pictures for Zurg while we were gone. I think that "BadShoes" are taking over central Florida!)

but...

I missed the memo that said proper theme park attire for women age 12-30 is a SUPERSHORT skirt (denim, cotton, saran wrap) paired with a TINY tank top or white wifebeater that shows at least three inches of belly and also the contrasting color bra, with stacked heel platform shoes.

I kid you not. I saw more mini-skirts at Universal than I saw downtown on Saturday night. How do you ride Dr. Doom or Fire and Ice with a stinking skirt on?!?! And these skirts showed "cheek" most of the time. PopDaddy and Monkeyboy would have loved it.

I also didn't get the memo that said all women cruising on Royal Carribbean Sovereign of the Seas had to have visible tattoos, either, but that is another story.

I thought the rule was that all guests of water parks over the age of 16 had to have visible tatoos.

One of my laws partners (male) was talking about how his family bought season tickets to Six Flags. Another lawyer asked him "Do the tank tops come with the tickets, or do you have to buy them separately?"

I have nothing against tattoos, as a rule. DH has his fraternity letters in TINY script on the inside of his ankle. If I had not been mortally afraid of causing my parents to have a stroke, I would have gotten one in college. Of course, now I thank God everyday that I didn't.

But we counted NINE different women with tattoos on their upper breasts that were visible, countless more on shoulders, lower backs, tons on ankles and toes. Then of course there were the nice homemade/jailhouse tats that usually were across their knuckles. A few women even had them on their neck.

And, yes, most of the men were sporting ink as well. Especiallly prevalent were those nice barb-wire ones that surround the bicep, or the Confederate flag in some shape, form or fashion. On the right male body, tattoos can be downright sexy...but I didn't see any on this cruise.

We felt kind of out of place...

My DH has one on his inner right forearm that says "Live Free or Die" He got it right after his divorce. He says the two aren't related but I don't know LoL

*gulp* We had a few attire shocks last week too. Saw an old (I would guess she was maybe in her late 60's early 70's) woman, very large mostly around the middle, twiggy legs, wearing a teenage type belly shirt and shorts that had both buttcheeks peeking out of 'em.

I lamented for 2 days about not having had my camera with me at the time. It was truly a photo-worthy outfit.

We were surprised at how many mini skirts were being worn. Heck, don't ya get thigh-rub that way? I want fabric between my legs when it's sticky hot out. LOL LOL

I had so much trouble finding skirts this past summer - everything was the short Paris Hilton type. I got one of those super-tight tank tops because it had Hello Kitty on it (and it was 70% off ) but it's really too skimpy for me to wear in public.

I'll be in Orlando next week and I don't want to be seeing anyone's butt when they bend over!

I just posted on another thread about this but the worst I have seen has to be kids with obscene words on their shirts.

The worst being a 12 - 13 year old boy, with his family, wearing a tee shirt that said "I Love (slang word for women of ill repute that rhymes with mutts) "

Well, they weren't all south last week! We were in Vegas and I was almost sick looking at some of the folks there! I really don't know why people don't look in the mirror before they leave their home!! Jeez. Those short shirts and shorts/skirts are just not made for old fat women.... Ick.

It's bad enough when adults wear outrageous things but when will some parents regain their backbone? No kid traveling with me will wear such a shirt! Sorry, I'll be quiet now.

To all of you, myself included, who hate the current trend of skin-showing-bare-bum-indicent-my-father-would-kill-me-and-my-preacher-would-pray clothes....I recently read an article and seeing this change in all the stores and celebrities of covering up. With the fall season coming we will see blazers, no cleavage, skirts to the knees or lower! Proper clothing that is stylish but cute. I love the new fashion. The designer was asked why fashion was going so far in the other direction, his reply: "We had nowhere else to go. I realized when I saw a 7 month pregnant woman wearing a strappy tank/bra combo and her belly was hanging over the short skirt, it had simply gone to far."

Thank goodness. I'm all for looking cute, not saying you need to wear a tent but heaves these girls need to put something more on. They say they want respect but then wear those outfits! No one in their right mind thinks...Oh she must have a PhD! Nooo you portray an image by what you wear. Whew that is done now.

LOL this thread is friggin hilariouse. Granted yes people have A right to wear what they want but atleast show some self respect. And I though wearing my SLAYER shirt would get looks lol.
