Hey all! I was just curious, what is the theme for your wedding? How do you plan to carry out that theme? Thanks!

We had a Christmas theme for our wedding since it was in December. We had red bridesmaids dresses, I carried a red rose bouquet, our cake was Christmas-themed, we had wreaths on the pews, we had holly on our place cards, etc. It was a really easy theme to carry out, and we loved how it turned out!

We are doing a 1920s & 1930s/Great Gatsby kind of theme. Our wedding is at Sea Breeze Point, so we already have the 1920s/30s going on at the Boardwalk. Our reception is at California Grill & although that is very modern, we are going to make it more like a 1920s/30s jazz club atmosphere. Then when we get home, our at home reception is going to be at my future in laws backyard... and we are going for the whole Great Gatsby outdoor party feel.
The colors of our wedding also match this theme... ivory, cafe (pale brown, think coffee with lots of creme) and pale pink. My dress and the BM dresses are also going have a slightly antique feel and the tuxedos are ivory and mocha, so that seems to fit as well.
We are also going to use the antique car... which once again fits this theme.
We didn't originially set out to have our wedding themed like this, but it all just sort of came together -- & I'm really excited about it :)

We didnt really have a "theme", but we had silver stars incorporated into everything.

We didn't have a theme until we went to our planning session in May and then the florist asked if I would like some hidden Mickey’s in my bouquet. The hidden Mickey’s are going to be in all of the flowers now. I bought purses for my bridesmaids, but could only find one style that matched the dresses we picked so put some hidden Mickey’s on them so they would could tell their purse apart. I’m going to have one on my vile and in my hair. They will be on the tables as confetti at the pre reception and in the candles at the desert party. They are on my invitation and my sister and I are plotting to put one on my mom’s dress. I’m also planning on putting together a list of hidden Mickey’s for my guests to find. I’m really excited about the whole hidden Mickey thing. I keep try to come up with other places to hide them.

I had a slight Cinderella theme but used dark red and silver as my colors. I used the Cindy's carriage as my main inspiration. I used the carriage on my newsletters to guests, welcome bags, folders in welcome bags, programs, menus, and placecards. I had a Cindy's carriage light shining down on the dance floor and the castle and fireworks on the air wall. I also had a fruit carving in the shape of the carriage at my pre-reception. Oh....and I named our tables (instead of numbers) after Cinderella type things.

Here they are:

Cinderella
Prince Charming
Glass Slipper
Pumpkin Coach
Fairy Tale
Happily Ever After
Once Upon a Time

Let me know if you have any questions.

Heidi,
I'm just loving your "Great Gatsby" Theme. Thats a great idea and I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Our theme was "Whimsical Fairytale"
I had bright pink bridesmaid dress
Pink flowers
Cinderella's glass coach
Major Domo brought rings in a glass slipper
We had personalized candy bars with Cinderella and prince charming on them
There were other little things, but those were the most prominent.

Having a Disney wedding gives one an option of SO many different themes. I love hearing about all of them that the brides and grooms have!

Love, love, love the colors you have chosen! When are you getting married? I would love to see pics of the dresses!

I think the combo of ivory, cafe, and pale blue would be nice too! There is something very retro about those!

We are getting married March 25, 2006.

Here is my dress: http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=1208&prodgroup=92

You can see the tuxedos here: http://heidijean.typepad.com/me/2005/07/tuxedos.html

I am still undecided on the exact bridesmaids dresses... one of my BMs is coming to visit tonight & we're going to select something tomorrow. But here is the color I am going for: http://www.robertabridal.com/roberta_10507.htm

Thanks for the positive feedback on the theme... I'm really excited about it :)

Oh my! I love it all! Your dress is stunning!

We are doing a subtle "Wish Upon a Star" theme. Our invitations had a star on them and I printed falling stars & "When you Wish Upon A Star" on the envelope. I will walk down the aisle to "When you Wish..." My sister's (MOH) dress has faint stars on it and she will be wearing a necklace that has a star charm. I think I'm going to get star trinket boxes as favors and put some kind of wishing item in them. And our cake will have stars on it.

I guess it's maybe not as subtle as it could be. :goodvibes

we actually have 2 themes going on. the first at the ceremony at the yc gazebo & prereception at marthas vineyard, a rose theme with red & gold colors, the second theme at the reception at ariels & dessert party with an underwater/seaside theme with blue & silver colors. we're very proud of our creativity with this & cant wait for the big day.

for the ceremony in the rose garden at the yc gazebo we are using roses along the edge of the path/aisle & a rose patterned lace aisle runner, our programs have roses on it, our wedding invitations had a gazebo on them with red roses & gold lined envelopes, my bouquet & fi's boutonniere will have red roses, my moh's dress is red, fi & bestmans vest is red, our vip boutinnieres & corsages for parents & grandparents will be gold colored roses along with moh bouquet & bestmans boutinniere. our moms thank you roses will be a red & our exit will be rose petals thrown at us down the aisle. the rose, red & gold theme will also be carried to our prereception at marthas vineyard with gold napkins personalized with a rose & our names in red ink and rose petals at the tables.

then at our reception at ariels we are silver & blue colors. we are using silver mirrors & fish bowls for centerpieces, in the middle of the mirror is each tables theme & name (ie a pirates ship model boat & mini pirate flag for table "pirates cove"), then the fish bowls have seashells & a blue candle in each that are either side of the mirror, 2 fishbowls to each table. we're also going to make menus with a seashell pattern on the top. our card holder is a wooden chest that we diy-ed with a slit & will have chocolate coins around it along with a mermaid light that will shine on our guestbook & guestbook table. we also bought these glass bubble paperweights that will be around the cake table & our cake is the coral & shells design with 3 tiers. we also have a finding nemo play tent that we're going to fill with kids games for their corner at the reception to play in. then at our illuminations dessert party we have blue vases with fish on theme that we will have floating candles inside & silver tables covers for the dp tables.

I love that idea!

I am so jealous! I could not talk my husband into a Disney themed wedding! We did a cool medieval thing in Las Vegas though!

I can;t wait to see pics from everybody's weddings!

Our Vow Renewal is December 16 this year and we are going with Christmas Theme. Not just Red and Green though, we plan to make use of a variety of colors. We will use greenery though that is Xmas themed like holly, pine boughs, wreaths, etc.

We are also incorporating a Beauty & the Beast Theme with this. However, the B&B will be minimal, but visible and will be kept to an ivory color i.e. our invitations, table cards, menus, figurines, etc.

We had a Cinderella theme for our November 2003 Wedding.

I know this is the most popular theme among Disney weddings - but we did try to make it our own. We opted for more of a Royal Ball interpretation of the theme - and did not push the Disney version of the Fairy Tale.

Our color scheme was orange with hints of gold - to coordinate with the fall date and to be able to integrate pumpkins into the event.

Our ringbearer's pilllow was orange trimmed in gold/orange brocade ribbon with a gold coach ring box on the top.

My Mom had an aisle runner custom made that read "And they lived happily ever after" on our way out of the wedding pavilion.

Instead of a rose petal toss, we had confetti wands. The sign on the table said "Shower the couple with pixie dust." And the tags on the wands read "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" with our Names and Wedding Date.

Our placecards were real mini pumpkins with leaves attached with the name and table name.

And my awesome talented husband carved fake pumpkins (www.funkins.com) into a Cinderella Coach and Castle using a Disney pumpkin carving kit.

(I was very unhappy with how Disney floral set up this table. It was supposed to be swagged and everything.)

Our table names were Cinderella themed.

Our tables had brocade table runners for a royal feel.

We of course had a castle cake.

52444067.jpg

Our favors were pumpkin candles in organza bags that had a tag that said "Happily Ever After" with our wedding date.

We also had Cinderella's Coach and the slipper dessert.

Our programs included the fairy tale story of our relationship - and on the cover said "Once upon a time" and on the back said "And they lived happily ever after ... The Beginning."

Our invitations were scrolls on actual wooden dowels. I loved them.

There were other touches throughout the wedding. But we really tried to make a common theme our own.

Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your pics!!! That was fabulous!!! :earseek: We are doing a fall theme but technically it's before fall actually begins... our wedding is set for 9/14/06... my bridesmaids and MOH are all wearing different fall colors... your wedding was beautiful!! I haven't even thought if we want a theme... my fiance has already said he wants individual cakes because he loves the star ones and he's never seen that before... :flower:
