HI there!
I wasn't sure what to title my post as, so I hope I can explain...

We are planning our first trip to DL in November, with our two daughters, 7 and 4.
I want to spend 5 days at the park/parks, and I thought it might be cool to have certain themes for each day.
For instance, one princess day, where the girls can wear their princess dresses, go to Princess Fantasy Faire, do Ariel's Lunch or Dinner, and other princess things.
Maybe one pirate day (my youngest DD adores pirates!) with POTC, Pirate's Lair, and...???
One super-ride day to hit lots of fun roller coasters, dark rides, Bug's Land.

Do any of you tour like this?
Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Dianna :)

I've never heard of this but it sounds like a lot of fun!

I'd be careful with the "Super rides" day. I think I would get burnt out trying to do them all in one day?

Wow, that's a cool idea. Will you be visiting around Thanksgiving? That might limit how many of the "big roller coasters" you can hit in one day.

Pirate day will be fun, Tom Sawyer's Island is very "pirate-y" now.

I bet you could also do like a Water or Surfer theme and hit the water stuff in DCA. There's Grizzly River Run, of course. But there's a nice little water play area over in "A Bugs Land".

Thanks for the replies! You guys are quick!

For our "super-ride" day, I think we'll just pick a few biggies, and then let the girls choose their favorites.

We are planning our trip for the week right before Thanksgiving. I'm hoping it won't be too crowded then! Although, I just got my "Unofficial Guide" in the mail from Amazon, and it says that the week after Thanksgiving is the slowest time! Maybe we should go then. I just want to see all the Christmas decorations!

Ohh...thanks for the idea of the Water Rides! That would be a good idea! We could make sure that we bring ponchos and extra socks for that day!

I love this board!

How about a Pixar theme? Buzz ride, Nemo subs, Monsters Inc, new Toy Story ride, Bugs Life (Pixar?), Tough to be Bug,

Space theme?:wizard: Soarin, Star Tours, Buzz, Space mntn, Jedi training,

Pirates?pirate: There is a pirate ship that goes around the Island, but doesn't run all the time. A stretch: Add water rides-Grizzly River Rapids

Circus/Fair theme: Dumbo, Circus train, carousel, boardwalk rides at DCA, (fit any missed Fantasy Land rides here)

I love a theme! (can you tell?) Great idea!!!

I think theme days would be cool, if you did them right. If you really got the kids into the themes. However, I (realistically) can't see them paying attention to the themes for more than a couple hours. They're gonna want to ride the rides they see, meet the characters they see, and just explore. And there's nothing wrong with that. I just think the themes are a little too planned for two young girls. Be flexible.

We just took a 4 and 7 year old last Sept. I think trying to make a full day wrapped around one theme would be hard. I know it would have been for us given all their little eyes are taking in. Too many distractions....

I am now planning another trip for 5 days late April with the two same children and there will be 8 adults. For just one of the days, I am planning a 4 hour scavenger (treasure) hunt. At the end we will meet at the Main Street Photo Supply Co. to turn in our disposable cameras for one hour developing (if they still offer it).

Later in the evening around dinner time we will compare our notes, pictures and treasures to announce the winner!

That's only 4 hours and I'm not sure my youngest SIL can even handle that!!!!

Thank you all for your ideas and advice!

DLR29 - You are right about being flexible! I will have to remember that. I don't want things to be too planned out!

I think my main concern was having a real princess-y day, where the girls can wear their costumes, and not worry about going on Splash Mountain and getting soaked!!
