Recent decisions of the Federal Court of appeal, however, remind the hotel owners and managers, and even safe in the room needs some attention, the award saying of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

After reading this thread, I will DEFINITELY never be staying at the Desert Inn!

Unfortunately - no hotel is immune to having dishonest staff. Not even Disney. A friend of mine had multiple items stolen from her at one of the most highly regarded, expensive, and sought after WDW resorts.

Tourists tend to be most vulnerable to these problems, because people know they have a lot of cash, credit cards, and expensive items like cameras, computers, etc. All we can do is safeguard our items to the best of our ability and hope that that is enough at the end of the day.

Sad but true....
