The4OfUs...."Romantic Escape at Sea" Pkg

Hey Debbie, better than some friends of ours, got their kitchen remodeled because a skunk got in and sprayed it. And on the night of the "house warming" party another skunk got into the new kitchen! They got everyone out of the house and had to wait for the skunk to leave on its own. The Forestry service, etc, could not touch the skunk because it was an endangered variety, a spotted skunk. Took a couple days for it to leave.

Wow, that stinks. :teeth:

Somehow I'd make sure that it got out one way or the other.

Where is Ann Morin's sheriff when we need him...ahhh, but that's another story!

Carla,
A second encounter with a skunk would push me over the edge. They ripped out the family room today and 1/2 the kitchen floor. The entire first floor of the house is in shambles! I really can't wait for this cruise! Wonder, take me away!!!!

You poor dear - I can not believe how awful this is for you. I am so sorry!

Rae

And just think I planned this cruise before the kitchen project was planned. Talk about timing. It should be just about finished (except possibly for the painting) just before we leave. I will be soooooo ready by then!

I'm thinking of booking this package for our first DCL cruise in 2005 -- looking at a 4 night Wonder. We'll have baby #1 along, too. Neither of us drink alcohol -- do you think the package is still worth it price-wise when we can't have the champagne? (I assume if asked they could substitute the champagne for sparkling cider.) Is making Palo and spa ressies such a pain? We've only cruised once and that was on RCCL last year. We did not bother making ressies at the alternative restaurants (we really enjoyed the main dining room) and I had no trouble booking a spa ressie in the middle of the cruise.

Thanks for your thoughts.

As a 8 time cruiser with DCL, in one word....YES!
That's why I am getting the REAS, so I won't have to do the Ressie 500!

Some people "swear" that they can get what they want easily, but maybe I'm picky but I don't want to eat dinner at 9 or 10PM. And I really do love the Palo Brunch and definitely want to have High Tea sometime before I die!

I think that the value is also good since you are getting two massages besides the goodies, reservations and Champagne breakfast for $299!

I already ordered mine and can't wait til they call me to get my dates!!!! So much for the Ressie Rush this cruise! More time to eat shrimp and have "mango tango" (that's the orange/mango soup in a glass with ice and a shot or two or three of rum - - YUM!)

Hope you enjoy this cruise!

Rae

The4OfUs - What time of day did you get your massage? I'm trying to figure out what time would be best with everything else going on! Thanks once again!!:wave2:

We had late seating, so I chose 4:30 pm....got all relaxed before going to Animator's Palate for the first time. I chose Monday, the first day at sea for us, so that gave me the day to hang out and do things before heading to the spa, AND I still got to see the early show that night because I was done by 6 and the show started at 6:30.

Thank you!!, The4OfUs!! It's so nice to have past crusiers come back with such great info and help!!:wave2:

:) I'm not being selfless here, it helps me "remember the Magic" so to speak! Glad it can be of help too, of course!

Same cruise - two different answers on REAS!

Cruise mate booked through DU and has her REAS Palo ressies confirmed!

I am using my DVC points and was told I would be contacted 14-30 days prior to sailing by DCL to make my ressies.

Interesting?

Prejudice against DVC????????????
Just curious as to others experience with this.

No, cause Juli booked on points (I am nearly certain) and she and I both spoke to the same person (well actually my MIL did) - Donna the dining coordinator...and we were told 45-30 days before. How soon is your cruise? You could always call to "remind" them?

Now I'm thoroughly confused. But a good confused. How nice to be confused about decisions for DCL.:D

We've done DCL two years in a row. First time 7-day eastern, second, 7-day western. I've never done the massage. This year I'd planned on doing a massage and DH said to 'go for it' as we'll be celebrating 15th wedding anniversary. Like many other DH's, he'd like to save $$ so we can continue to book DCL each year.

Okay, I've never had trouble getting Palo ressies, and for both cruises we've had PLAPLAP dining rotation. (DD is 9.)

This year we're doing the 7-day eastern May 29th. We want the same dining rotation. I want the massage. (DH said he doesn't think he's interested in doing a massage.) We want Palo brunch. We're going to try to be on the first DCL bus to Port Canaveral as we're staying at MCO Hyatt.

We could probably get these (if not, most) anyway w/out booking the REAS, right? I'm just trying to justify spending the extra $$, because I know a discussion will erupt if I decide to book this. DH will resign himself and say 'do what you need to do', but I have to admit, I secretly agree w/him.

Also, can someone tell me what the 'well-being spa' (is that the name) is that's included in this price.

Thanks to all for helping me make these decisions!:D

We will be celebrating our 15th anniversary too! I've gone back and forth about whether or not to book this package!

Pros

We are celebrating our anniversary! We don't have to rush to get to the ship early. When we get onboard we can relax and eat, look around, go for a swim, and know we have our reservation for Palo and the spa!!

Cons

We would be spending extra money. We would get to the ship early anyway, and probably be able to get the Palo res.(But be a stressed mess)! We would have to separate and go to different places to make the res. for Palo and the Spa. We might not get the day and times we want!!!!

Well, after looking at this, I think I will celebrate!!and go for it!!

I guess in terms of "is it worth it", my only advice is to consider the extra little touches (the rose petals and romantic turn down, the special breakfast in bed, the welcome basket, the knowledge that your ressies are all set for you) and factor those in to the price of the all things in the package, and decide if it's worth it for you, because only you can decide that.

I would think of it as a little spot of "you and I" in a whole cruise of "all of us", because in terms of cost, you're probably paying a little less for the package - of course if you didn't want the basket or the breakfast, then what I'm saying is silly, and it would cost more, but I love the basket now at home on my dresser, I love the photo album, and I loved the freedom when we got on board. To me, I'd say it's worth it.

:)

I have a question. I'm going on the March 7, 2004 4-day and have beebn reading threads on this topic. This sounds like a package I would love to order. Unfortuantely, I had not been aware of the package until now... Is it too late for me to book this package?

Probably not.

Call your TA or DCL today to add this on. Report back and tell us if you had any trouble (if you don't mind).

THANKS and GOOD LUCK!
