the zoo in Nassau Bahamas

I was looking through some of the trips on this board and I spotted someone in Nassau on a tour bus going to a zoo. Does anyone know which excursion is this. I think the kids would enjoy it, also what would be the price.

I think you're referring to the Zoo Nightclub in Nassau.

The zoo is called Ardastra Gardens. Disney does an excursion, but my family did it on our own. The cab ride took about 5 minutes from the pier. It's located next to Fort Charlotte. I wasn't really looking forward to going, but we had a blast. We watched their trained flamingo show, fed lorakeets, and enjoyed walking around the gardens and seeing the exhibits. We spent about an hour and a half. We'd go again.

We sat with a family at dinner who went to the zoo and it sounded like they had a fantastic time!

We are planning on doing this druing our April 11th Wonder Cruise. We also are going to go on our own (not the tour). I'm glad to hear it was so easy to hop a cab over there. I figure we can get there in time for the 10:30 flamingo show, look around for a bit and still be back on the ship for lunch!

How much was the taxi ride? Did you have to make reservations for the Ardastra Gardens or did you just walk up? Do you remember how much it was for admission? Did you take a taxi back to the ship as well? We are thinking about doing this first thing when we arrive. Any help would be appreciated.

Our taxi was $5 per person. Yes, we took a taxi back to the ship as well. After the fact, we found out you could take the #10 bus there and back for only $1 per person (each way). We spoke to a family who did this and said it was easy. You just get off the bus at Fort Charlotte and walk about a block up the road. You do not need to make advanced reservations at the zoo. I don't remember the price of admission, but it should be on their website. Have fun!
