The Young Avengers: World Tour (YARP Part 4)

My characters: They watched Jay and Hope on the television. June was snuggled up against Conrad. Gordon was with Britannia, not wanting to talk to his father or sister.

 

[Orreed]

Hope: "Good morning Matt, it's a pleasure to be here. And really, I'm sure there are MUCH better riders than I out there. I mean, I'm a decent rider, but Olympians are Olympians for a reason, they've been doing it a lot longer than I have I'm sure. The hype is slightly overwhelming. I mean, one minute I'm a normal kid just going to competition and the next the entire country is watching me. But Jay's with me, and as long as I've got Jay, I need nothing else. The very very first time I met Jay, I had no idea how important he'd become to me. There I was, about ten or eleven, racing my best friend down the hallway on those rolling hospital bed things, when I accidentally almost hit this kid. Now I'm falling all over myself trying to apologize, and Jay just flashed this grin at me and told me it was no problem and we talked for a minute or sop and then he had to go. But anyway, this past summer, I got to camp late and who do I run into but Jay. And he flashed that grin of his and Matt, I was done for. He literally had me at hello. I went through that day thinking over and over again that it was a dream, stuff like that just didn't happen to me. But ever since we've started dating...it's like heaven, Matt." She grinned at Jay. "I love you too." She smiled modestly. "What to say? I'm not as spectacular as Jay makes me out to be. I've lived all over the world, I like traveling. My five favorite people, in no particular, have to be of course Jay, my dad - one of the smartest people you'll ever meet, so good to me, the most awesome guy in the world, my cousin Andrea, she's brilliant, we're like sisters, she's going to be one of the best lawyers in the world one day and plays almost every major sport, my best friend, who's stuck with me for about five or six years now and has done so much for me, and my horse Jade. Yes, she counts as a person. Although now that I think about it, I think Mr. Stark would be offended that he ranks behind the horse, so I might have to change that."

Matt: "I don't know, I think your underestimating yourself. I can be scary, but your handling with a sense of grace. That's a sweet meeting story."

Jay: "She almost knocked me out!", he chuckled. "Don't worry, it was no biggie. And I got to talk to the nice pretty girl. Oh and Matt is is that spectacular! Actually I didn't make her sound enough."

Matt: "Sounds like you have great support. Yeah, Tony might be upset.", he laughed. "Don't worry my dog is a family member. Well Jay, there are some who think you shouldn't be able to be on the team because your dad works for SHIELD and it'd be unfair. Thoughts?"

Jay: "I don't really think that's fair to not let me because of that. I'm not skilled enough, that's fair and I understand. But the whole SHIELD thing no. I don't have any superpowers to give an unfair advantage. I'm human. I'm lucky to gain skills from my dad, who is a wonderful person by the way shout out to him. He and my raised me and my sister well. But those skills aren't magic powers. And I've trained hard my whole life fairly." I have no entailment to the team, but stopping me because of my parents is unjust.

Matt: "Well said. Don't worry, most of us rooting you on!"

Jay: He smiled. "Why thank you. And we'd both be honored to compete for our team. I'm New York born and breed! Greatest city on the planet. "

Matt: "It's a great place. Hope, people agree you have an incredible connection with Jade."

Jay: "Yeah that horse is her baby!", he chuckled. "And as she said earlier her friend. She's my buddy too."

Matt: He laughed. "Not a bad thing."

Jay: "Not at all. Great horse. Hope and I actually ride together all the time."

Matt: "Really?"

Jay: "Yeah it's nice. She introduced me to riding at camp actually. I'm nowhere as good but it's a fun hobby and great way to spend time with Hope. Maybe one time you can check out the farm Jade lives at. My horse I usually ride is names Bullseye. "

Matt: "I'd love to. And how fitting for an archer."

Jay: "Cool."

Matt: "Hope tell us more about Jade."

 

[Fairywings]

Sometimes, when I'm riding - this is what I do at competitions - I can really focus in, so focused that it is just me, Jade and whatever is directly in front of me. Everything else just fades out, it's like I'm deaf and have blinders on. Yeah, Jay and I ride together sometimes. He tried to teach me how to shoot, it didn't really work out as well as me teaching Jay how to ride. Well, Jade is gray, with this beautiful dapple pattern. Bullseye - well Bullseye looks a lot like a real life version of Bullseye from Toy Story, hence his name. Both are mine. I first encountered them when I was about twelve or thirteen, and at the time my father and I were living in London, England. I started working at this stables, because I love animals of all kinds. So I'm on orientation, and the girl's introducing me to each of the horses, and we walk up to Jade and Bullseye, and the girl tells me they're best friends. I just gave her this look, like she was crazy, and she laughed and I'll told her what she told me. Anytime you go out to a place where there's lots of horses that are familiar to each other, you'll notice that there's at least one horse who's got another horse basically around them all the time and totally isn't bothered by it and that's when you've got best friends, and trust me, it works everywhere, I've seen it all the time. So then we moved on, and all of a sudden, Jade gets all upset. And Bullseye starts freaking out, cause he doesn't know what's upset Jade. And all the stable people start coming around, but they can't cam Jade down. So I go over there, walk right up to her, and just start talking to her calmly, just telling her that everything's okay, and then I started talking about the weather, and how she's freaking out Bullseye and how that's really not a nice thing to do to your best friend, and then I started telling her about my best friend, and I'm halfway through a story when I realize that Jade is still and silent and staring at me intently as if she were really listening, Bullseye was the same way, and all the people were silent, wide-eyed and some of their mouths had dropped open, it was pretty funny. Jade and Bullseye ended up following me around for the rest of orientation, and for the next six months I worked there until we had to leave London, they were unofficially 'my' horses, and they told that to every visitor that chose to tour the place. Like I said, I had to leave, but recently, back in the US, somehow Jade and Bullseye had ended up at camp. They remembered me, since horses have long memories, and it was really awesome. And then I get back from camp, and what do I find but Jade and Bullseye. They'd been bought for me and gifted to me. I swear I get spoiled too much. So now they're mine."

Matt: He have a surprise for you booth. Follow me outside.

Jay: He knew about the surprise but wondered what was outside.. The camera crew followed them and he held hands with Hope walking out. Jay's jaw dropped when he went outside. There was the officials of the US Olympic Team. The hollering and clapping audience was holding letter signs that said Welcome to Team US Hope and Jay! "I..." Jay was speechless. This was truly a dream come true. May of shed a man tear or too.

Matt: "America welcome our newest members of Team USA!"

Jay: He and Hope went over and shook hands with the official. He sincerely thanked them all and was grinning ear to ear. "Hope we did it. We're Olympians." Jay and Hope took pictures with the official, and got official US Olympics jackets with their names on them put on.

Evelyn: She cheered for her twin and Hope. Jay's face was priceless. Probably the only other time she'd seen it like that was when he announced Hope was his girlfriend.

Jay: Just when he thought life couldn't get better he saw a familiar grin in the crowed. His dad! Clint gave him an approving nod with a thumbs up and when Jay blinked he was gone. There was his dad, risking a lot for one of the most important days of Jay's life.

 

[Fairywings]

Hope: She shook his hand and smiled. "No really, thank you, we were glad to be here today." She held hands with Jay and when she went outside and saw everything, her eyes widened. "Jay, Jay, pinch me." She may have cried a little bit. She shook hands with the official, and was just thanking basically everyone she saw. She took pictures and put on her jacket, thinking about how good she looked in red, white and blue. The she started bouncing up and down. "Jay, we did it! We're going to Rio!" Suddenly it didn't matter that they were on TV, she was so excited, she kissed Jay very briefly on the lips. "We're Olympians!"

Evelyn: She ran up to Jay and gave him a hug and they jumped together. "TWIN! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT YOUR AN OLYMPIAN!"

Jay: "Me too!!"

Matt: "That's great. We're going to wrap it up. Congratulations Jay and Hope! Goodbye!" Jay, Hope, and Matt waved to the camera and the show ended.

Evelyn: She ran up to Jay and gave him a hug and they jumped together. "TWIN! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT YOUR AN OLYMPIAN!"

Jay: "Me too!!"

Hope: The show finished and she caught sight of her dad. "Dad!" She practically jumped into his arms. "Daddy, I'm an Olympian!"

Bruce: He hugged his daughter. His glasses were not fogging up because of the tears in his eyes. "I'm so, so proud of you Hope. You've done so well sweetheart. I love you so much and I'm so proud of you."

 

[Orreed]

Hope: The show finished and she caught sight of her dad. "Dad!" She practically jumped into his arms. "Daddy, I'm an Olympian!"

Bruce: He hugged his daughter. His glasses were not fogging up because of the tears in his eyes. "I'm so, so proud of you Hope. You've done so well sweetheart. I love you so much and I'm so proud of you."

Jay: Everyone started to leave. What an amazing morning. He met up with his family. "Off to Africa?"

Bruce: "Steve will be meeting us with the others at the airport. Don't worry, I've got your bags packed and in the car Hope, Jay." Andrea and Evelyn already knew their bags were there.

Steve: He turned off the TV, show over. "Come on boys and girls, grab your bags and head to the car, we are going to the airport and we're going together."

 

[Orreed]

Bruce: "Steve will be meeting us with the others at the airport. Don't worry, I've got your bags packed and in the car Hope, Jay." Andrea and Evelyn already knew their bags were there.

Steve: He turned off the TV, show over. "Come on boys and girls, grab your bags and head to the car, we are going to the airport and we're going together."

Jay and Evelyn: "Great thanks Mr. Banner."

 

[Fairywings]

Jay and Evelyn: "Great thanks Mr. Banner."

Bruce: "You're welcome."

Thora: She sighed. Gordon still wouldn't talk to her. She got her things and went to the car.

June: She got her bag and went over to Conrad. "I'm excited."

Gordon: He tearfully said goodbye to Britannia, kissing her passionately and telling her how much he loved her before going to the car.

Logan: He grabbed his bags and went to the car.

Thora: She sighed. Gordon still wouldn't talk to her. She got her things and went to the car.

Jay: He and Evelyn got in Mr.Banner's car and went to the airport. Jay was still a little in shock mixed with pure joy. He kept looking at his and Hope's cool jackets. His proudly displayed BARTON on the back. The duo looked pretty cute in them. Jay wore it around a bit like a king's crown. Bow down peasants I'm an Olympian. Okay, maybe not that bad, but a bit.

June: "Evelyn said that we'd be treated like royalty. I'm definitely not used to being a princess."

Andrea: She had already congratulated Jay and Hope and informed them of how jealous she was. She'd love to go.

Hope: She was wearing her jacket proudly and was so happy. A thought occurred to her and she leaned over to whisper in Jay's ear, "You know, if we go to the summer games after Rio, they might need to get me a new jacket."

Jay: His smile got even bigger and he squeezed her hand. Jay whispered back and after kissed her ear. "Yeah, they probably will." The car pulled up into the airport and they waited for the Rogermobile to show up.
