Taking up with the man who kidnapped her baby, going on the run after being convicted of murder and letting her loved ones think that she's dead are a few of the questionable moves that Sharon's made on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS over the last year or so. So the show has constructed a Sharon-centric episode, set to air Monday, July 4, to remind viewers of what the character's been through. Executive producer/headwriter Maria Arena Bell says that the episode will "shed more light on Sharon and all the factors that caused her to be in this situation, why she's acted the way she has and why she's gone into the pit of [low] self-esteem."

"I'm trying to show why Sharon's in the place that she's in," concurs the convicted murderess' portrayer, Sharon Case. "Everything that's built up to where she is today [will be examined.]"

It's not a coincidence that Y&R has scheduled this episode for a holiday. Late Y&R creator Bill Bell often scheduled stand-alone flashback episodes on holidays because he knew that viewers might skip watching the show on those days in order to spend them with their families. "You don't miss what happens in the series," says Case. "But if you watched that day, you saw a special episode. That's what this episode does. It continues the series a little bit, but mostly it's one of those great holiday episodes. There are so many flashbacks it feels like a classic."

Sam reveals the reason why he is late and got so drunk, his dog died and he took O Keefe's death hard. Sharon helps Sam back to his room, he tells her that he never cared about being alone until he met Sharon and hopes she'll change her mind about leaving. They have sex
Adam gets ahold of the memory cards that Phyllis had Malcolm look into, Noah finds out and asks Adam if he can help him find Sharon's memory card. The two work together*and go through each memory card hoping to find something to clear Sharon of murder
Jack tells Phyllis he is still unsupportive of her taking Lucy from Billy and Victoria but they are still friends! Nick interrupts, he tells Phyllis about buying Restless Style from Billy and asks Phyllis to come work for him! Phyllis accepts
Reed is getting ready to leave Genoa City and go back to JT and Mac, before leaving he asks if he can say goodbye to Billy. Victoria asks Billy to come over, tells him about taking a job at Newman. Billy starts gambling again!!

Next - In a letter Sharon tells Sam about her past and how she ended up where she is today. Through the flashbacks we see a young Nick and Sharon, then latest ones of Sharon and Adam

here's the scoop



June 24th 2011

My water broke at 3pm and the clock started ticking for the 50% deliver within 48 hours stat that the nurses and dr informed me of.

BUT Nicole was NOT going to be part of any stats

3am June 26th i started getting what i thought was cramping down below - like under the baby around and by 5am i had called the nurse and she came to put me on the baby monitor

"cramping is common it's ok - these aren't contractions" remember that

So i spent the morning writing these "cramps", had a visit with my aunt who's leaving tomorrow to go back home to England, and had a visit with my brother. The few cramps I had while they were there were a little more intense but still manageable.

My brothers and aunt were taking Cassandra to Medieval Times for the dinner/show and Patrick, who had gone home the night before to be with Cassie came down with them to be with me.

and by then the "cramping" was becoming more regular and more intense so the dr brought me in to scan the baby. i had 4 while in there.

around 3.45 i had one that was soooo major i felt i had to push and yelled at Patrick to not just push the nurse but pull the button but rip the cord out and they came running in.

they had to call High Risk L&D and get me a room.

around 3.55 i was transferred to the HRLD and the team was there. one set for me and one set for Nicole. (refresher. nicole had fluid in her lungs and we had to have surgery to have tubes put in 4 weeks ago to drain them before she was born she also has something called hydrops which is where fluid backs up and seeps under her skin around her upper body - quite serious stuff)

by 4.05-4.10 i was in the LD room begging for someone to help me. this was definitely NOT the same or even close to the labour i had with Cassie. this was 10 times more painful and 5 times faster

i kept telling them i had to push and i had gone from 4, 6 to 8 cm dilated from leaving my room to about 4.30 (so less then 45 minutes) and they kept telling me to breath through it - god i hate that - you CAN"T breath through it when the kids head is jamming you and ripping you in half.

needless to say through my screams (and i'm SO NOT a screamer) i ignored them and pushed.

well.

the last time they told me to breath through it WAS the last time as the urge to push was soooooooooooooo great i yelled at someone (had my eyes closed so i dont even know who to apologize to ) to shut up that i was pushing, her head was coming out.

she told me to just breath and i said NO HER HEAD IS OUT

and so it was.

they yelled for the NICU team who was setting stuff up in another room and my dr who had left to do something.

they all came running in and one more push and out she came (kind of like splash mountain LOL)

i heard and saw her cry and they whisked her away - i started crying i know they had to but i didn't even get to touch her.

they stabilized her, took the tubes out of her chest and put a feeding tube down her nose and a breathing one to her lungs down her throat.

tmi alert - placenta wouldn't deliver so they tried a few things but i ended up being put under and they took it out. by 10pm i was awake and chatting and desperate to see Nicole.

I finally got to see her about 10.30. all the tubes, leads and stuff mad me burst into tears as soon as i saw her


June 29th

I called last night around 11 and got some wonderful news.

she's doing so much better. she had been given 1ml of my milk and at that time so far so good. her blood results for the jaundice was getting lower (which i knew) so would come off the lights later today. and she had all those poos to get rid of "stuff". she had dropped weight but i did expect that so is sitting just a tiny bit above the 6lb mark.

woke up this morning at 5.30 - couldn't sleep and my muscles were SCREAMING at me.

called at 6 to speak to the same nurse before shift change at 7am.

EVEN BETTER NEWS

she had been given a feed at 12 and handled it nicely and another at 4 and they are watching her but all signs pointing to handling it as well.

she had 2 more poos

they took her iv's out YAAAAHHHH and - wait for it.

MIGHT TAKE HER TUBES OUT TODAY.

so when we go later I might actually be able to hold her ........ oh my god i'll cry i just know it.

I'm home in time to take Cassie to school for the final day and she's just over the moon that i can do it.

she's so happy i'm home. she came in our bed last night and is jammed up my back holding on for dear life she's had a tough go at this but she's a trooper too.

June 30

The tubes are out and I finally got to hold her for the first time yesterday. We brought Cassie down today and she was so happy she got to touch her.

she's doing much better and MIGHT be home sooner then we thought. maybe another week to 2 and we could finally bring her home.

Today's episode focused on Sharon's past as she wrote a letter to Sam. We see flashbacks of Sharon and Nick, the start of their love story, her rape, the death of Cassie, confronting him about his affair with Phyllis. Both moving on only to reunite shortly, Faith's birth then thinking she was dead
Sharon then talks about her relationship with Adam, him not wanting to be her knight and shining armor. There were flashbacks of their friendship, marriage, the divorce, what happened with Skye, their reunion, losing custody of Faith, being convicted of Skye's murder, going on the run

Next - Sharon tells Sam last night was a mistake ; Adam tells Victor he is slipping, Victor says Adam is playing with fire ; Billy is pissed that Nick hired Phyllis after what she put him and Victoria through

•Phyllis chooses her target - Adam and the article involves Sharon, Adam finds out and confronts them. Adam doesn't care what's written about him but no trash talking Sharon. Adam wants Nick to write an article stating Sharon didn't kill Skye, he'll have the proof. The two fight•Adam left in a hurry and left his door open, Diane went in and onto Adam's computer where she finds out he got footage from the ambulance. Diane sets out to meet the man who has the footage promising dirt on Adam, Deacon overhears and wants in on her latest scheme
•Devon and Lily both confront Cane. Cane wants to protect Lily and the twins but Lily says she doesn't need his protection and wants him to stay away from her and her children. Meanwhile, Abby's disappointed when Daniel refuses to give their relationship another chance•Michael and Kevin are shocked to see Eden back in Genoa City, Michael is pissed that Eden hasn't contacted him in months yet when his siblings are in trouble he's just a phone call away. Expectant mom Marcy Rylan (Abby, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS; Lizzie, GUIDING LIGHT) has announced that her toddler son, Jackson, will soon have a baby brother to play with! "We are having another BOY!!," she tweeted yesterday, following a doctor's appointment. "Jackjack can't wait for his buddy to get here! We ended up having a 3D sonogram we didn't expect! Cried as soon as I saw that little face! We are over the moon!"
Due in the fall shortly after Jackson's second birthday, the new arrival will be the second child for Rylan and her fiancé, Don Money.

LOL! I hear ya! I was thinking the same thing!! ...and where the heck IS Murphy?? People!…What is goin’ on??

First of all…I gotta tell ya,…. I really dislike any scenes with Sharon in it, and FF’d thru the entire episode on Monday! …and I really really dislike all of the Sam/Sharon scenes! Aside from the “I can’t stand Sharon” issue, they really just bore me! PLEASE!!…this storyline has gotta stop!

Another stupid storyline??…. Katherine and Tucker! Did she expect him to wake up and NOT be angry?? Maybe she expected him to die, and that’s why she needed to stay in the room alone with him. Either way….Yawn!!

I wont even acknowledge the Cane/Lily story anymore. It’s just stupid!! …and this Abby killing Tucker business? Isn’t it still attempted murder? Are the cops gonna let that go?
…and Adam! I’m so over it!!! Just kill Victor already! Put us all out of this misery!!

Is it because it’s summer and they don’t expect us to be watching?? Was it this bad last summer?
