Jeannie, have you had cream of wheat before? They are a bit bigger than that, but they are similar in texture (yummy by the way). They are a tad bit creamier/softer than cream of wheat to me. I really like them and like them much more than cream of wheat! And yes I couldn't help but think of the part about how long it takes to cook real grits from My Cousin Vinnie as well

I just spent 1.5 hours and $270.00 at the grocery store but the shopping is done for the month and its all GOOD stuff. No JUNK!! I am so proud of myself because I was SO hungry when we were shopping. Dh even asked if I wanted him to go to McDees to pick up something for dinner since we were getting home so late. I told him NOPE. We are having whole wheat pasta with sauce for dinner. I can afford to eat that because I skimped a little on lunch because I didnt have much here.

Elaine I dont think its going to be this easy some of the time especially on Wednesdays when the kids have Team Kid and we have to eat out. Im trying to find the nearest Subway to the church so that we can get one of their lowfat subs.

I broke down and called DH, he was in Harrisburg, heading to the hotel. He said the roads are just slushy and wet - we got a least 2-3 inches since 5:00 pm back here.

Pam, ROFLMAO at the card......oh, if only pigs could fly....... Thanks so much. You have no idea how that card made my day today.

OK, here it is......I have lost 7 lbs, my blood pressure is way down from what it was. Dr. is soooo happy with me.......but.......I am diabetic. There! I said it Sketti! (Betty has been such a great support for me). I kind of knew it, but I needed to hear it from the Dr. But......no meds! He said I can definately handle it with diet if I keep up what I am doing now. Have to see a dietician, which is good. I'm kinda teary now cause I am admitting it for the first time, but hey! I am in a lot better shape than a lot of other people, and I am grateful to God for that.

So my dear sistuhs and bothers, that is the skinny of it. Done, said, over with. Hey Betty.......a new charm for me

I could pack a cooler but there really isnt any place for us to eat it except the SUV. Church is just a little far for us to come home and there is too much time for us to wait until after church to eat. We normally went to a little burger place thats right there but I cant think of anything I could have there that would fit my new lifestyle plan.

Pam I am SO glad you heard from Dh and that he is safe and sound.

Marilyn I am so glad to hear that you can handle your diabetes with diet alone. We are here for you you know that. I kinda can relate to how your feeling right now because I was there when my mom got the same diagnosis. She cried too and a lot. Hers was only controllable through insulin though. You are doing GREAT with your new LIVE IT plan and I know you can control this. If you need an ear to cry, vent, talk whatever I am here for you and you have my number. Oh Marilyn...glad your doc is encouraged by your hard work...and I am so sorry about the diabetes. Now I'm gonna tell you a really inspirational story. My MIL was diagnosed with diabetes 10 years ago...she has never needed insulin and only had to start on oral meds in the last year. She watches her diet...is pretty strict about it most of the time...but she does treat herself once in awhile to a "forbidden food". She exercises daily...and has grown to love it! She is healthy as a horse at the ripe old age of 85!!! So chin up Marilyn!!! This is gonna be OOOOKKK!!!! Look how GREAT you've done so far!!!!! Hang in there my friend!!!

Hi ya'all. Thanks so much for the encouraging words. Its funny, I wanted to get it out with my friends, but I told DH the only family I want to know about this right now is him, and DS.
