Sherry - Major bummer on the car - why do these things always happen at the holidays? I had to have the washer and dryer repaired last week - and we had to buy a new stove yesterday as our old one is gasping its last breath....

Major windstorm outside - in the low 30s with an even colder windchill and it's spitting snow.....

Doesn't look like I'll be making it to Disney this time around.
MIL having surgery today and since we've been living in her home don't think I can leave her & FIL when she really needs the help
while she is recuperating. I'm really, really bummed and haven't wanted to talk about it. My sister keeps emailing to see if I can
come the next weekend and go to MVMCP with her and I keep putting her off. Just depends if MIL is well enough to get around by then. But, I don't think that will work out either. Guess I shouldn't be so down since it's not like I'm that far away now. I'm just really disappointed I don't get to meet everyone. OK, I'll quit whining now...............................

I know its very disappointing Rose Mary. I havent got my tickets yet. Evan was fine yesterday am but woke from his nap with a fever . He still has it this am as well. If Im going I have to buy the tickets today but it so hard to tell how this illness will run. Looks like I might not be able to go either

....Ya-yas!! Did some weekend shopping with my DM; thanks for all the well-wishes . . .she's looking and feeling MUCH better now that she knows the docs aren't cutting her open like a Thanksgiving turkey! However, her BP is still pretty high (190 over 100 - YIKES! Scary ) so they are trying to regulate that....

We took a break from the stores and headed fer Appleby's ("Eatin' good, in ya neigh-bah-hood...") We had the most AWESOME grilled chicken roll-up sandwiches. BTW, I do believe they WERE serving CHEESE FRIES ....!

Hmmm , wonder if my package arrived at its destination yet...it was only goin' "down the road apiece..."

Oh yeah, West Coast Video "unofficially" was selling POTC before the official release date of 12/2 (or was it 12/4???). I happened to find out cuz' I rented 2 DVD's that were due back on Thanksgiving. I thought it absurd that the place was open; they said it was and that I could rent POTC on that day. I asked about purchasing it, and the cashier said that it would be available for sale also.....

My DS and I went to see "Haunted Mansion"; it totally ROCKS. Eddie Murphy is really funny in the movie. A word of caution - I would not recommend it for the "7 and under" set unless they are not easily frightened. There are 2 parts in the movie that MAY scare them....

The car was towed here this morning and is now sitting in the drive. Waah! Things have been so icky here lately. I don't even have the Christmas spirit right now and I normally adore Christmas time. I'm trying real hard to get it though, for my boys.
So, if I seem like a Scrooge, just smack me upside the head.

On a good note, my mom is working with us in getting us a used van from a friend of ours, so hopefully all will work out and we'll have wheels soon. My mom has been soooo wonderful.

RM, prayers & PD for your MIL. Sorry you might not make it to Disney.

Deena, sorry you may not make it either. Hope your DS feels better soon.

Kimmar, glad to hear your DM is feeling better. Hope they can get that BP under control. YIKES!

Guilt consume Shep - and do it fast!!

Our HS lost a heartbreaker of a football game on Friday night - we were playing in the PA State Semi-Finals - the next game is for the state title. We lost 28-15 after having a 1 point lead up until around 9:00 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Plus one of our HS basketball players had died that morning in an automobile accident enroute to a Basketball Tournament - of course all the players were upset - but they still went out there and gave it their all.

Kimmar, you really think there were scarey parts in HM? Hmmmm, the only part that kinda worried me was when they locked the kids in the trunk. Better call my friend back, she has a 5 year old.

Thanks Beth, I'm really sad I won't get to meet you this go around. But, I'm gonna stop whining and feeling sorry for myself now. Too many others out there with much, much bigger things going on..............Anyhoo, I'm with you on HM. I didn't find it all that scary and my supervisor was asking. She has a 5 & 3 yr old. Maybe I better warn her?! I guess I was just slightly disappointed, I didn't find it as funny as I expected it to be.

Deena, sure hope your little one gets better soon. I hope you don't have to miss the meet, too!

Pam- So sad! Was that a second teenage or the same one you mentioned earlier? PD and prayers to the family and friends.

Beth thanks for all the chicken soup! Hope it works. Actually its Evan who has a fever, so far Connor is okay (knocking on wood). I'll let you know if we get out tickets today or not. Im still holding out some hope we are still going.
Im planning our big family trip for June--the first 2 weeks of June. It will be the 6 of us, my bil/sil, neice and nephew and mil. Fil does not want to go. He is really not a lot of fun anyway but I cant believe he doesnt want to go with his whole family. Mil is crazy so Im going to try to stick her with bil/sil.......lol. Then sil will be trying to beat me up
