Liz..long post...:earseek: ..:duck:
Great Ketchup though..:worship:

Satellite was out last night when it was raining.. ...first time i remember it going out.
Cassie was coughing her head off for what seemed all of last night..poor Amanda couldn't sleep..Why is this cough only during the night.?..this is what Mandy had...hope it goes away before saturday..It's my company picnic at Paramounts Kings Island..

Liz - For the first couple of weeks, I was hitting the pain meds as often as the prescription allowed. I believe that I could take one or two pills every four hours, so I took one pill every two hours to spread out the effect of the pain killer. I hope that you can find a good balance between pain meds and naps. I can feel you pain.

Regarding my return to work, I decided to go the macho route yesterday and not use my crutches very much at work. Big mistake. I limped around so much that now I've screwed up my knee. The good news is that when I went to bed last night, my ankle didn't hurt at all. Because my knee hurt so #$%^ much. So I will use my crutches more today, and I will see if my physical therapist can suggest some exercises to strengthen my knees. I found out that the fitness center here at work has 5 treadmills and a bunch of other really great fitness equipment. In the seven years that I've worked here, I have never managed to find the fitness center. I spend enough time in this building with work. But since I'm on half days, I might ask my physical terrorist if there are any exercises that he thinks I should or could do here at work to speed my recovery.

Hope today is a better day for you.

Lebrea Tar Pits?
I bet Mandy would like to see this...lol...

John--no more goofing off...you need to be up and at'em next weekend..And you need to be as close to 100% as possible for that Disney trip you got planned...:jester:

John, I'll bet they haven't even told you about the company yacht either!

Somehow I don't think your method for making you ankle feel better is going to make a best selling book, but I hope you feel better soon.

Elaine..cotton wood?

Shep - I see that someone else suggested the La Brea Tarpits on your other "what to do in SoCal" thread. So maybe I wasn't too far off base. When I lived in SoCal, I drove up to Beverly Hills and Bellaire one afternoon with a friend. We drove down Rodeo Drive and stopped in the parking lot of the tarpits.

You definitely need to focus on one or two things to do out there or you will spend all your time trying to get from place to place.

Company Yacht????? I think I had better make a few phone calls.

ROFLMAO!!!!! John that is the best line I've seen in ages!! I will have to tell my girlfriend with the CP that, I bet she will be able to relate to you!!

Ditto what Liz said in her ketchup!

I slept until 9 this morning!! yippee!! Jarrod spend the night with his dad last night so I didn't have to wake up at O dark thirty!!

My goal for today is to finish a cross stitch picture that i was supposed to have finished a month ago and then to start on the next one. I have to set some goals for myself or I will do nothing but get depressed and sulk! ( I :worship: to all of the SAHMs and SAHDs, how do you do it day in and day out! )

Anyway, I'm going to go check my school email so I can bug the folks doing my job!

Hello to all and to all a good day!
tara

John--the girls would probaly be happy with the beach all day...:jester: ...There are some awesome suggestion on the thread i started...now if I could destress Amanda..:( ..she has a lot of work to do prior to going...I am lucky enough to have a job where my work gets passed on....even though I receive work sometimes from the previous shift when I get to work..very rarely though.....I hope to be at the meet next week with at least Mandy..have to see if Amanda will be up for it....:D

Quick hi to you all!

Rose Mary, don't work too hard today!

Amanda, my jaw dropped at Mandy and Cassie not wanting to go to DL ;) I am sure you will have fun no matter what.

Okay I admit I went to the La Barea tarpits when I was last at CA (in 1988). I was 11 I guess at the time and I thought it was the most boring place in the world. Okay the Blue Hole in Ohio ranks as #1 but it was a typical place my mom would take us. You can see some of them in My Girl 2 to see what they look like. Bored me to tears and I like dinosaur stuff

Todd, sorry the rain cut out your sattelite. I was afraid I'd even lose cable in that storm we had.

John, take it easy on the knee and the ankle... but I'm with Alan, go look for the Yacht! ;)

Alan http://www.colostate.edu/Dept/CoopExt/4dmg/Trees/cotton.htm there you go... ignore hte last pic though, but the 2nd to last shows you what is floating through the air.

Tara, glad you could sleep in. Good luck keeping yourself busy yet comfortable :)

Oh a Cottonwood tree...

We always called the Sycamore in our front yard a Cottonwood tree, but it is apparently not the same.

In fact, it isn't what is called a Sycamore in most places unless you identify it as the American Planetree sycamore.

Still, the seeds on it get fuzzy too and Mrs. AA's first guide dog was allergic to it (along with everything else outside)

Lots of talking going on this morning :)

John take care of that knee as well as the ankle.

Todd....CA beaches are nice....depending on weather, they could be crowded, but if that's what everyone wants to do ....go for it.
Saves on the driving which is a PITA!

Our Cottonwoods are shedding too. Blowing all over the place. I had the garage door open for a couple hours yesterday to find big piles of "cotton" all over
Luckily I'm not allergic to that......it's the grass that drives me itchy ;)

Liz...take care.

Opps.....out of time....more later :wave2:

Elaine that awful about your friends MOH. They are supposed to make things more easy and enjoyable for the Bride.
Liz--hit those paid meds regularly!!
Shep--could be she just has some post nasal drainage. That will make you cough when you are laying down.

Taking a break from laundry to say hi.

I have tons of bags to take to Goodwill today.

John, I had to LOL at the physical terrorists remark. I'm sure Junior feels that way, too. He is at therapy right now.
:teeth:

OK, gotta throw another load of clothes in the wash.

:moped:

 All!
No time to post much. Lunch is over already since I had to run out and get something. Plus I was later than usual this a.m. and now I have to stay 15 extra minutes. :sad1: Oh well, guess I just have to suck it up.

See ya'll this evening!

Hi Rosemary--:wave2:

Hi Deena-:wave2:

Hi Alan-:wave2:

Hi Elaine--:wave2:

Nancy--will probaly just do the beaches & maybe some touristy stuff...hopefully we'll be able to find some pretty shells on the beach...doesn't look like we'll do DL...:(

Mandy and Cassie don't want to go to DL??? Quick-somebody get those two a Mickey bar! The Pacific will be fun...cold but exciting.:)

Physical "Terrorist"!! Hang tough, TC.;)

WHy is Liz taunting Sherry with the bacon chanting song?:p

I'd rather deal with cicadas than pollen! Oh Liz I do know the delights of Benadryl-induced sleep....and you wake up dry!:)

Elaine!! Bad MoH!:( She knew for months? Was it an emergency? Being a bridesmaid can really put a dent in the vacation fund, can't it?:( Well I've got a tale of woe for you from my own wedding annals...can't give away too many details, but here goes: A friend of mine picks up with this guy late last year and after 6 mos. of on-and-off dating, they announce their engagement in mid-March. I'm surprised (There's a whole not-so- pretty backstory to this that I won't go into) but I tell her how happy I am for her and now I have yet another friend with whom to share all the planning fun! Well, we get together a few weeks after her announcement and she says she is considering having her wedding one week prior to my own date and asked me pointedly if I thought I'd have a problem attending etc. I figured at that point , everything would be set up for me and didn't think taking a day or so out would be a problem at all and I tell her so. Very nice of her even to ask! Well, f-fwd. Recently, we're casually talking and she says that she and her FI have decided on their honeymoon destination-a 10-day trip, isn't that wonderful? I stop dead in my tracks and do the math. I ask her if she is still planning on the afore-mentioned date...she says, yes. SO, she went through all the trouble of asking me if planning her wedding a week before mine was ok with me and then turns around and plans a 10-day honeymoon that prevents her from attending mine? What kind of friend does this?

Of course, when we (I) put two-and-two together...she went pale and apologized yadayada. I have seen her be incredibly forgetful and clueless before so I am going to have to let this go...really for my own sanity more than anything else. I am not the confrontational type-and doing so in this case would make me the ultimate bridezilla. I have already considered all the reasons that would force her to choose the date in the first place and then to take the length trip that she is planning...although, the date...its on the grounds of her mothers home so that was laways flexible. And the length of the trip...I'd gladly cut my trip short by a couple days but that's me. Incidentally, when we discovered the error, the plane tix hadn't been bought yet...but..anyway...letting it go ladida!!!:bitelip: )

Thanks for listening!:wave2:

I have to eat something.::yes::

I have a nice  story.
Let me preface the story with mil has not been feeling well, high BP and stress. Fil leaves message this am for my dh to call him. Call 2--also this am--mil calls for dh (even though they both know he is at work) leaves a message for dh to call back, its an EMERGENCY. Call 3--mil calling again for dh. So I get all 3 of the messages this am when I return from taking boys to school. So I first try to call dh but he is busy, doesnt answer phone (he has next day air he has to get delivered before 10:30).
So I call mil/fil. Want to know what the big emergency was?? Fil wanted to know if dh recieved his stock proxy, marked his voted and then mailed it back   WTH?? That is NOT an emergency--that is just a question. An emergency is someone is hurt or sick and is going to doctor or needs to go.
I think this wins the stupidity award of the week

Page 2!!

Awww...Jeannie
Well, she will just miss the BEST wedding! Her loss!

I had a friend in college that picked the same date as we did :(
Friends had to divide
Oh well, we all survived.

between wedding horrors and inlaws, I'm again reminded why I am still single!! hehehe

I finally have downloaded the pix from the camera so here is the birthday cake that Jarrod had at his party. I got it done at a place that hires almost all handicapped personnel (both physically and mentally). Its a work shelter for a lot of students coming out of the public school system! They did a fantastic job!

I have rested today. I was on the computer down loading a bunch of pix onto my imagestation and then checking my school email, and I found out that a student of mine was caught with pot in his locker. (and it wasn't the kind lilliboo was looking at!!!) So I leave and I miss all the excitement. Anyway, when I got back to the couch after about 30 minutes sitting up at the computer and being on the phone my bp was over 150 again. So I guess I have to limit my time sitting up!! (or was it reading school email!)

Hi to all!!! Keep up the good posting, keep us off of page 2! hehe

back later!

It wasn't an All-Clad Stainless Steel saucier? Why, what other kinds are there...must consult Crate & Barrel.:teeth: Oh! And good luck with the BP!:( I'll try to keep your cabana men busy in these trying times.

Oh In-laws...I can't wait to get mine! ;) SO far they seem like very nice normal folks...we shall see!:p:p Deena ...I think it's time for us to get out the cheetos again.;)

Nancy! They picked the same day? After you had already announced your date? DId your friendship with them survive? Friends having to choose events...NOT fun.:(

Hi everyone... very very busy today. Our closing papers came today and I just went to transfer/wire money for it. So we are officially DVC owners as of the 25th!!! Unless they close a day or so early (which sometimes they do if they get the papers)

Alan, I had to chuckle, I know that animals get allergies too, but wouldn't that be rough if Mrs. AA had a guide dog with allergies? For me, my eyes get all watery and I could imagine how hard that would be for a guide dog

Nancy, grass makes me a little itchy too :( Not terrible though fortunately.

Deena, I was thinking the same thing about that MOH. Dawn is very disappointed/upset at this point. I sure don't blame her. Dawn was saying I am not even an official bridesmaid (honorary/reader) and I have done more/gone out of my way more for her.

Okay I have to go back and read the physical terrorists remark...

Sherry, I could imagine with those boys you get lots to send in to Goodwill!!! Even with the three of us we had a boat load at times!

:wave2: Hi Rose Mary, I hope you didn't have to stay too late!

Todd, sorry about no DL... I'm not sure I could do that, but have fun there no matter what you do!

Jeannie, I found out today that it is her Dad's birthday on Sunday. Not a special birthday, but she had to go to dinner on Sat night
Sorry about your friend. I had one who picked the same wedding date of my original one. She knew about it and we had it picked for a year, yet she figured that date was best for her since she needed 2 years to plan her wedding. We wound up with a different date due to Luis' school, but I was so peeved... I had picked that date since it was my parent's anniversary. Some friends

Deena... I have no words for that  Some family can be so inconsiderate and stupid!!!

Tara, I love that cake!!! They did a wonderful job!!!!! Take it easy too... although I doubt I could sit around that much... must be hard!
