DING! DING! Day 3!
So we're up and at 'em again. Nice and early. We've got a ADR for Cape May's at 8:40am using the transportation systems so want to get there with loads of time.
As we walk across the bridge of our home for the next 2 weeks, towards the lobby, it's nice and warm. Not roasting but just pleasant. We head out the front door and meet the nicest CM at POR (can't remember his name unfortunately but he was literally there everyday we were, he was a really nice guy) who presents the Wrigglemonster with a Mardi Gras coin. He asks where we're heading and we explain we're trying to get the bus to the Beach Club and he offers up we can either get the bus or walk it from Hollywood Studios. He asks when our ADR is (this is roughly at 7:00am). When we tell him it's at 8:40am, he tells us we've got plenty of time, and to an extent we did.
So we head off on the bus and it hits me! This is EMH morning at Hollywood Studios, so the bus is fairly busy. Luckily for us, we're not heading there today. We got off at DHS and see the fairly big queues waiting to get in. Bus or Walk? Bus or Walk?
We opt to walk...in the wrong direction! I thought the path towards the Beach Club was beside the boat. It wasn't. It was actually just next to where we got off the bus. Dad's fault. We find I quite often end up going the wrong way quite a lot, especially towards the end (it's that jet lag!
).
It was actually a really nice walk, and a lot more how I imagined our holiday beginning. I think it was one of Mallinda's favourite days' and mine.
The Wrigglemonster wasn't yet aware she would later be going toe to toe with the Duck, the Dog that speaks, and Mrs Mouse!
It's so peaceful and it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the Beach Club / Boardwalk. On the way we see the Swan and Dolphin:
A boat travelling downstream to the S & D (the boat we could've gotten on). I thought we'd be quicker walking as having used the boat before, found it took some time to get to where we needed to be in the time frame we had.
On the way, I randomly take a photo of a sign to Boardwalk (hey, I said I was on holiday!). Another photo of the S & D, then another photo of Mallinda and the Wrigglemonster:
We then head over the small bridge that takes you on to where Boardwalk and the Beach Club are. It really wasn't a long walk at all. As we're a bit early (we get there at around 8:30am), we take the Wrigglemonster for a little walk around the Beach Club where she bumps into a few of the staff that give out the “she's so cute” that we get used to around this holiday
After about 5 minutes, our buzzer goes off and we head towards the front of Cape May's where we are then lead to our table. On the way, we re shown where all the food is and in which section. We're seated in a small area off to the right as you go on. There were only 4 tables there, and it looked as though it was specifically for people with really young kids which was good. Another huge bonus was with it being such a small area, the characters were a lot more close in with all the families than when out in the main restaurant.
For a little while, the Wrigglemonster entertains herself with some Crayola's and a colouring in page:
Whilst I head off for some food for me and the Monster. I pick up a selection of things including biscuits, bacon, scrambled egg, mickey waffles and sausages. The Monster is very partial to a bit of scrambled egg. As I seat feeding the monster, Mallinda heads off for some fruit and before long, we're greeted by the first of our characters':
The Monster got a big surprise when she turned round and behind her was Goofy. It was what made this trip all worthwhile. She didn't scream or freakout. She laughed and pointed and it just made your heart melt.
She played around a bit with him, much to another lot of 'awws'. Goofy then pottered about a bit and then left to greet the other guests.
