The worst place you have stayed in when in Orlando and why?

That's a shame, because I'd be really interested in following this thread! :goodvibes Always good to know which places to avoid at all costs. Also, it's somewhat on topic if we're discussing the hotels in and around Universal. Personally, I can't name one offhand that's been terrible -- I guess the Country Inn and Suites closest to Universal wasn't exactly super-luxurious, just ok. I have always wondered about the $29 hotels on I-drive == a bargain, or horrible?

Horrible!!!!

We got a deal last year from MSP to MCO for 135pp RT including hotel! There was only 2 of us! We stayed at the hotel with the Pineapple, cant remember the name... FOR A REASON! They were remodeling the hotel and it was about 1/2 done! I bet there were 15 people staying in the whole hotel! YET, they left us in the unfinished part of the hotel!

Mildew, bugs, smells, you name it, this place had it! This stay alone pushed me over the DVC top!

Last year we drove from Kansas and ended up in Orlando a night early. DH was tired so we grabbed the first hotel he saw which happened to be the Days Inn....HORRIBLE! I didn't know if I couldn't sleep that night because of the noise, the beds, or the feeling that someone would kick in the door (did not feel safe there). My brother had already paid for a night the next night and he had the same problems, they switched rooms three times and the air never worked in any of their rooms and it didn't smell that great :)
