The worst part about loving Disney World

The worst part about loving Disney World is not having anyone to talk to about it! I am the only one in my family who goes to Disney World and I don't have friends that go either. The only place to talk Disney is here, so thank you Dis'ers. I am wondering if you're the only one in your circle that loves Disney. I can just imagine how awesome it would be to be able to talk rather than type about Disney with someone.

I have my spouse, but that's about it. We had a great random run-in the other night with a restaurant manager who turned out to be a DVC member, though, so we all nerded out for about five minutes before he went to run our card.

My family loves WDW (well, not DH, but he tolerates my obsession). And I have a couple friends that also love WDW. BUT since we can afford to go every year, and everyone else only goes every 2-4 years, I feel guilty talking about our trips unless they bring it up.

My DH tolerates it, but my two daughters love it. I have a few friends that have taken their family and enjoy it but nothing like I do. I save most of my Disney geek outs for my kids (and DIS)

great replies! well i'll hope that my kids grow up to love it and that i'll have them to talk to about it. i got married there and had my sister, grandpa, and dad there. they all said they wouldn't go there again. and i asked my dad if he wanted to join us for part of the trip since he was going to come visit me at my house, so i offered the same days but at disney free of charge and he said no. deluxe too! geez! DH thinks we go too much. Yes before kids we did b/c that was a cheap vacation! we stayed at values and airfare was always 200 or less and when we had the wedding we got annual passes for free that year, but now that we have kids DD is already almost 4 and she only went once at age 2, now we're going again for our baby's 1st trip and dd will be 4. that is not often enough for me! i wanted every year atleast when they are young b/c they change SO fast!

The worst thing for us is that our savings account could be double what it is if we didn't love going so much, LOL!!! It is certainly adequate but if that $5000-$9000 a year was going into savings or home improvement projects, it would be amazing!
Oh well, you can't take the money with you when you die, and we are happy making memories year after year.

yes that is the most important, making memories! i have plenty in my savings account and i am happy to spend 5K this year on Disney at the GF rather than just have more money in the bank. My grandma passed away and she had a lot of money. she never went to disney ever, never went on a cruise ever, and only once went on a vacation out of the country when she won a trip, she only took her vacation to visit us grandkids by a long car drive. while it was nice to see her, she should have taken us to disney! lol, but the point is she passed away and left behind her money which my mom just blew through on home improvements. i think she should have enjoyed her money herself and saved a little. she just sat in her house for years and just went to the stores. i dont want to be like that. i dont want tons of money in the bank for my kids to just blow through. i want to use it. so i'm using it on disney and a cruise this year. i wish i could travel more but DH only gets 2 weeks.

We gave her a trip last year for Christmas, she's helping me plan a fall trip for DH, DS, and myself, then she & I are going on a trip just the two of us next year. We love Disney! DH couldn't care, but I'm hoping DS will follow in mommy's footsteps. So far, so good - he's a Disney maniac!

We gave her a trip last year for Christmas, she's helping me plan a fall trip for DH, DS, and myself, then she & I are going on a trip just the two of us next year. We love Disney! DH couldn't care, but I'm hoping DS will follow in mommy's footsteps. So far, so good - he's a Disney maniac!

I agree that not having anyone in your circle who even remotely understands your love of all things Disney is the worst. No one to chat with about trip planning, past trips, future trips, resort or restaurant experiences. Disboards are my saving grace when it comes to satisfying my need to read and talk about all things Disney. My DH hates everything Disney but doesn't mind that I go without him because he knows how much I love it.
My cousin loves Disney as much as I do and we use to talk Disney all the time but he got married and the new wife put a stop to his Disney love real quick.

He thinks we go too much, though does have fun when there. I actually prefer just going with my DD because she loves EVERYTHING about it. No one else in my family are big Disney fans. I live my life a lot like you mentioned, and want to live it to its fullest. In addition to Disney we also did a (Disney) cruise and trip to Miami & Key West in Jan/Feb, and have a trip to France coming up in September. I always need trips planned and ahead to look forward to!

My DD is 3 too! We need to be friends! If we are allowed to and you want to, PM me your phone number so we can chat! I have google hangouts, that would be fun too, and then the 3 year olds can chat too. We are from Indiana, but i wish we lived in Florida. DH doesn't want to! I too need a planning trip to look forward to! We are going to Disney in October, then a cruise for baby's first and DD3's second, on NCL's newest ship the Escape to show her Jost Van Dyke beach which is pristine.

To me, the worst part is that we can only go every three years...and this trip will be 4 yrs since we are waiting until our little guy is 3. I'd prefer to go every year and would love to live in the Orlando area...besides...my cousins live there and have kids my girls' ages.

I also don't really have many I can discuss Disney with...my 11 yr old a little. She's super excited about this trip and would also prefer to go more often.

The worst part about loving Disney World, for me, is that DH doesn't love it and will only go once every 2-3 years. He's more into Six Flags and Universal.

Luckily, my little brother and his wife and a few of my cousins, are obsessed with Disney like I am, so I can talk their ears off about it when DH doesn't want to hear about it.
