The worst news - keep praying for Caitlyn

I was able to talk a little more with Robin's mom today and I now understand why she has been so upset the last couple of days. Not only has she lost her daughter but Caitlyn was visiting her paternal grandmother when this happened. They haven't allowed her to see Caitlyn and won't say that they are going to even bring her to the service.

Sadly legally her father has this right as the surviving parent. So Caitlyn is not with the people who loved her mother and are grieving for her and who she is closest too. Instead she is with the very person Robin tried so hard to protect her from. I can only imagine what is going on with her right now.

If anyone knows of agencies that might help or some legal resources that we can help her grandmother with let me know. This is just such a helpless feeling.

I am so sorry to hear this. My suggestion would be for her to get all of the court papers that Robin had and contact a lawyer as soon as possible.

Prayers will be said.

I don't know anything about this, my husband is out of town or I would ask him about it, he is a member of the Texas bar too.

Just when I thought this nightmare couldn't get any worse.....

What kind of sick people would deny a granddaughter the right to see her maternal grandmother after the death of the child's mother??????

She does know she has to get legal help and is planning on it but burying her daughter is her primary focus right now.

Robin's lawyers would probably the first place to start and other organizations that provide legal help for children.

I just hope and pray that God is watching over her and that Robin is her angel right beside her.

My ex and I get along fine....well...sometimes. You can believe that in my will and divorce agreement that Pete will be allowed visitation with my best friend Donna and her husband, who are like parents to me and grandparents to Pete. I am an orphan so they are all we have and really closer than any blood relative could ever be IMHO. Also, as a clincher, all that I have and my life insuance goes into a trust for Pete and that is controlled by Donna so my ex will HAVE to be cooperative with them.

Hopefully Robin had something similiar done. I will pray for Caitlyn. In this time, everyone should set aside their differences and come together for her.

I know in the state of Florida, grandparents don't have rights. I don't know about Texas though. Hopefully they do so they have some type of recourse.
