The World of Wogging.

I went for a walk last night. It nearly killed me. I was in the right mindset and everything but my lower back was killing me. I hurt my lower back about 5 years ago at work and it hurts me occasionally. It was brutal last night. I thought I was going to have to sit down on the ground but I mustered through.

I am taking tonight off from walking. I was really discouraged when I got home. I know I went to Disney 7 months ago, but I don't feel like I was this out of shape. Bah! I'm going to keep going though, I keep telling myself that it's better to do this at home then down at Disney.

Don't stress about it too much. These are the first days of heat and humidity and our bodies just aren't jused to it yet. I'm convinced that's why I had such a horrible run the other day. It should be cooling off a bit tomorrow and getting back to normal. The humidity is really draining to everyone.

I hope you are right. I think that is why taking today off is a good idea for me. :thumbsup2

Hey Woggers -

Missed a few days - Way to go LL - hope you continue to do your walking.

I haven't done anything since Sunday night, so you have me beat! Probably won't do anything to Saturday. :sad2: Oh well, some weeks are like that!

I went out last night and did my day 2 of the couch to 5k program. I was amazed at how little difficulty I had with it, especially after feeling like I was going to die at the end of week 1 day 3. I ended up with a huge smile at the end of the workout. I think that shocked me more than anything else.

I was feeling so enthused and energetic after my walk/run that I went for another walk. (No running this time). I was fine until I was close to the end and it had gotten pretty dark.I was starting to get pretty cold (I was wearing a running skirt and a tank top) and was chafing in one spot.

My run was 2.25 miles and the walk was 1.95 miles. Not a bad day. I was thinking of going for another walk tonight, but I have a list a mile long of things I need to take care of so I don't think I'm going to be able to squeeze it in.

That is awesome and very inspiring!! Good for you! :thumbsup2 Is it wrong that I am most intrigued with the possibility of a new running wardrobe w/ cute running skirts? :lmao:

Hope the other woggers are doing well!! :upsidedow

Awesome workout! Good for you! I went out yesterday and ran 3 miles. It was tough at the end. Didn't get to use my new shoes because it was till wet out. Today it is even wetter. I am trying to decide whether to get all wet or whether to run on the treadmill. I hate the treadmill - totally boring!

Definately not wrong! I love getting new running clothes :rotfl:but I never quite fit in the cutest ones. I am convinced they make running clothes for midgets and not regular people. I recommend Marshalls and TJMaxx for reasonably priced shorts and shirts. Sporting good stores are WAY overpriced!

Thanks. I'm loving my running skirt. I bought myself one of the athletic skirts styles from runningskirts.com that was on sale for 50% off. I want to wear nothing else now. I had bought one at Target but it has no pockets and I didn't like it as much. Now I pretty much only use the runningskirts one. Very comfy and has two roomy pockets to carry my key and ipod.

I meant to go out this morning for a run. My family was coming over later and I wanted to go out around 8:30 am before the rain started back up. I got up at 7:30, got the crock pot started for dinner and then fell back asleep. I was obviously exhausted, as I didn't wake up until nearly noon.
By that time the rain was coming down pretty hard, and I still had to run to the store and do a bit of cleaning before my family came over at 3pm.

I felt out of sorts all day that I was unable to get out and run. I'm going to try to wake up early and go out tomorrow, but I am not a morning person at all and am guessing I'm not going to want to run at 5 am. I have yoga class after work so I won't be home until about 9. Maybe I'll try to get out then. I'll have to see when the rain cooperates with me.

Running skirt - hmmmmm- sounds interesting. I've been running so long that I am not up to date on the latest and greatest.

I know what you mean about yesterday - such a terribly blah day. I did not think I was going to run at all. But I looked outside at 7:45 and noticed the rain had stopped and the roads were reasonably dry. I put on my old sneaks and went for a quick run before it got totally dark. It was actually really fun. The temp was pleasant and there was no wind. So, I'm psyched I got out there afterall.

Good job everyone!!!! I did pitiful last week due to my vacation. I was outside and a lot more active than I am when I'm working but I didn't go to the gym once. Which means that this week is going to be all the more difficult :scared1: OH and to add to it....I started South Beach up again AND I think I have either a sinus infection or an ear infection. Not a happy camper today!!! OH well

I tried to get up and run this morning. Set my alarm for a nice earlier time, went to bed a bit earlier. The intention was there. Intention being the key term there.

As soon as it went off I heard the rain, reset the alarm and fell back asleep until 5:30 when it usualy goes off. There was no way I was getting up to run. I'm not feeling convinced about my energy to run after yoga class tonight. I'll have to see how I'm feeling when I get home. I'm not happy that they are calling for rain all week. :sad2: Yuck.

I'm wishing I wasn't so petrified of running on the treadmill so I didn't have to worry about getting in my scheduled workout. I'l walk on it, but even then since my dual tumbles awhile back I'm paranoid about going to fast on the treadmill. I just don't feel comfortable on it anymore.

Again, I know how you feel. Intention is there, but the yucky, rainy weather is so non motivating. I was off from work today, so I did run 2.5. I also ran on tuesday night, during my son's soccer practice. Half of the run was on the track. It is a brand new, beautiful track with the most cushy feel. But it POURED the whole time. I have only worn my new running shoes once because of all this stink'in rain!

SO WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE WOGGERS....IS ANY BODY STILL OUT THERE???????

I'm here. I had to go to the doctors for my swollen ankles/feet this week. I am still waiting to hear how all my test came back. They even x-rayed my foot because she thinks I have a bone spur in my heel.

So yeah. I haven't been doing much walking. I'm kinda miserable. I stayed home from work today with my feet elevated. It's the only thing that makes them feel better.

I'm here too....sorry, been MIA. I have shin splints...ugh! I've been running still but I'm in a lot of pain these last few days. Going to ice my shins tonight and take my run outside tomorrow morning in hopes the impact will be less....my race is on the 17th and I'm starting to panic.....:scared1:

Hope you're all doing well! LL, my Mom has a bone spur in her heal and it's horrible, hope you're doing okay!!:goodvibes

Still here. Lost 1.2lbs in my weigh in this week. Lots of rain here too so mostly working out inside on the elliptical. Haven't started the couch to 5K program yet but still thinking about it. :upsidedow
