Ok, my multiquote was looking really scary so I'm going to try to remember everything!

Sharky - I never get the movies right...finally one I could remember :cool1: I love that movie! I just watched The Boy that Could Fly today (I think that's the name) from the 80's...that was fun :cool1:

Sarah - I will be taking all sorts of meds to WDW! I'm scared DH or DD will get it so I'm trying to be VERY careful!

Tat - I'm sorry to hear about your health. It's no fun not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon

Ahhh The Boy that Could Fly. That brings back lots of memories. Anyone remember Teen Witch? :confused3 I know you all remember Mannequin. That was on tv yesterday. I love 80s movies!!!

How To Drive In Jersey .. ...

1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name, it is Nork - rhymes with Fork, not New-ark.

2. The morning rush hour is from 5 AM to NOON. The evening rush hour is from NOON to 7 PM. Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning.

3. The minimum acceptable speed on the turnpike is 85 mph. On the parkway it's 105 or 110. Anything less is considered "Sissy." (Just ask the Governor of NJ)

4. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Jersey has its own version of traffic rules. For example, cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go first at a four-way stop; the trucks with the biggest tires go second; However, SUV-driving, cellphone-talking moms ALWAYS have the right of way.

5. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot.

6. Never honk at anyone. EVER! Seriously. It's another offense that can get you shot.

7. Road construction is permanent and continuous in all of Jersey. Detour barrels are moved around for your entertainment pleasure during the middle of the night to make the next day's driving a bit more exciting.

8. Watch carefully for road hazards such as drunks, skunks, dogs, cats, barrels, cones, celebs, rubber-neckers, shredded tires, cell-phoners, deer and other road kill, and the Homeless feeding on any of these items.

9. MapQuest does NOT work here -- none of the roads are where they say they are or go where they say they do and all the Turnpike EZ Pass lanes are moved each night once again to make your ride more exciting.

10. If someone actually has their Turn Signal ON, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been "accidentally activated."

11. If you are in the left lane and only driving 70 in a 55-65mph zone, you are considered a road hazard and will be "flipped off" accordingly. If you return the flip, you'll be shot.

12. Do not try to estimate travel time -- just leave Monday afternoon for Tuesday appointments, by noon Thursday for Friday appointments, and right after church on Sunday for anything on Monday morning.

I live on Long Island, NY and it is the same way, but you left out something regarding NJ, to make a left turn you must go right.

Looks Like You Guys had a party here yesterday w/out me!!!!:sad1:

Hi Kinda:yay:

Just checking in for an update and to see what was for dinner tonight?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The Trip Chapter 5 - Room For 4 Please!

When I last left you we had just gotten off the bus and braved storm force winds and torential rains and were running like crazy people into the lobby of POP Century!

Woohoo!

Got in the doors and danced around to try and get the water off. Sort of like a wet dog shakes all the way from its nose to its tail. Sort of, only different. Didn't work though, we were still wet! :rotfl:

I went and sat with the kids in the little kids area and watched some classic Disney cartoons - gotta love that Mouse - while HG went to check us in. Thankfully there was no line up so I thought it would only take a couple of minutes.

So I waited.

And waited.

And waited some more.

About 30 mins later a cast member came over and asked to come help with the check in process.

Why?

Don't tell me something has gone wrong!!

My old heart can't take something else going wrong!

Belle watch your sister. Don't go anywhere. If you need me I'm right out there.

So I start to head over and see HG looking my way with a very concerned look on his face. This can't be good.

I wind back and forth through the empty line up feeling a bit like a goof but there was no other way to get to the front. They have that place roped off really good! Really well is what I should say but really good sounds better in this case. Anyways, you know what I mean!

I guess I looked pretty silly criss-crossing the empty lobby a million times too because the cast member who came and got me was laughing and finally unclipped some ropes so I could speed up the process. Gee buddy, couldn't you have done that a little earlier?!!!

I got up to HG and there was a little "communication" problem between him and the CM who was trying to give us our room. Seems this young man had a very strong Indian accent and HG is horrible with accents. I swear he can't even understand my friends from Oklahoma! So I step in to "translate"! :rotfl2: Gotta love having to translate english for him!

Once I figured out what the problem was it was a fairly quick process. Explained the dining plan (free food baby) and got our Keys To The Kingdom and then came the room assignment...

Dun, dun, dun.....

Will we get our "top floor, lake view room" we had requested not only on our original ressie but also on our faxed in request?

According to the CM checking us in - nope, not for you.

Grrrrr.....

We did get top floor but we were right by the Classic Hall end of the 60's building.

According to him.

I tried so explain that I didn't want to be right above the Hippie Dippie Pool because I had heard that it was loud but now he was having trouble understanding me. What? Is this problem going around.

"I'm sorry madam, this is the room you were given."

Fine. Its late and I'm tired. And I didn't want a fight. I figured we'd go up to the room and if it was bad the first night then I'd get us moved the next day.

Made another mad dash through the rain and up the green yo-yo into the playdough building. Climbed the stairs to the top floor and started looking for the room where he had marked it on the map.

Our room wasn't there!

In fact the numbers weren't even close.

HG is fuming at this point and was about to head back but I convinced him to just stay and try to find it.

A "treasure hunt" if you will.

Lets be pirates and find our room!

Arg, I'm a pirate!

pirate:

Wandered around and finally found it.

Are you ready for it?

Top floor.....

Lake view!

Ta da!

We got our request! Top floor, very corner by the lake!

Perfect!

Seems the room was right and the CM was wrong!

Its room 4461 if anyone is looking for a great room. Very quiet as there is only neighbours on one side, no pool noise because it is down by the kiddie pool and no toilets above you to flush in the night! :thumbsup2

Ya baby, I'm home!

The original plan was to go for a swim while we waited for the luggage to come up and yes, I had packed our bathing suits into the carry on for this very reason but the lightening kind of put a stop to that.

Oh well! Who wants to watch tv?

No? Really?

Oh, you're hungry! I get it! No real food all day, I guess you would be hungry!

Off to Everything POP for dinner to try out some of those free dining credits! :thumbsup2

HG had the shrimp lo mein, Belle had chicken parmasen, Tink had pasta with a meat ball and I had nachos. We also picked up our refillable mugs!

Chowed down and then headed back to the room to wait for the luggage. Got the kids into their jammies and watched tv for a bit. I didn't want to put the kids to bed because I knew as soon as they fell asleep the luggage would arrive and the banging on the door would wake them.

Finally they couldn't wait any longer and really wanted to go to sleep so I gave in and they drifted off right away.

And then of course 10 mins later "BANG, BANG, BANG - luggage service".

Pulled it into the room and dove into bed. I was one tired girl.

Night night!

Zzzzzz......

I agree w/ Farrah. Much better than what has already transpired. A step up at least from the crack house motel in Seattle. ;)

I think I was on the opposite side of where you were..in 5115....I LOVED it. Bottom floor, but still not bad... here's the view right outside my door. Values may get a bad rap, but I would stay at POP any time. It's a great resort.
