The work has paid off!

When DS10 was in first grade, we signed him up for Cub Scouts. None of the new parents would step up to be a leader, so reluctantly, I volunteered. I must say, I love doing it now!

My boys are now in 4th grade. Fourth and fifth grade Cub Scouts work on getting ready to bridge over into Boy Scouts. Last night I was asking them who planned on continuing on in Scouting. All of my Den (4 boys) said they wanted to, and they all want to get their Eagle Scout as well. All this talk was wonderful, but what really got to me was when one of the Scouts said to me "And you are going to continue leading, right?" I told them that I was going to help out, be an involved parent, but probably pull back out of leadership. This boy then said "Well, if you aren't going, I'm not going!!" And the other 3 agreed!! I told them even if I am not in a leadership position, I will be around, and I will always help them out if they need it. I was just so touched by them saying that!!

Congrats! You must be a great leader.

My DS15 has only his project and he will be an Eagle Scout. My DH is an Eagle Scout.

Scouting is a wonderful organization and teaches great skills and values to our kids.

Thanks for raising such good boys (your bio boys, and your scout boys)!

Thank you for stepping in to be that leader! All of our kids are involved in scouting, I am the troop leader for both my girls, and my DS is a Life Scout working on his Eagle. They can't get to where they are without volunteers like you! Yes, know your investment does and will pay off!
