The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

great update and pics. :confused3 oh wait they come later.

I am sorry but I was laughing very hard when I read about the garbage can. I can just picture Buzz there watching this happen. :rotfl2:

I could not do the moving car on the ferris wheel. :scared1: no thanks.

Look forward to the pics.

You should actually feel honoured that the talking trash can came up to talk to your can! :rotfl2: Seriously though. When we saw the one in Tomorrowland all these freaking kids were crowding it and my kids stood no chance.

Uhm, pictures? :confused3

The talking trash can incident was a hoot! :rotfl2: Linnie can't even talk to other people let alone a talking trash can.

GRR was great but we got way soaked! We exit right next to our hotel so we only had a couple minute walk to our room.

That big ferris wheel thingy sucked! It took forever to load and then it only did one revolution!

It was amazing that MB remembered the boat play area. He still enjoyed it also... only not as much.

From Soarin', we made our way past the winery. Yes, we passed it! Did not indulge! Everyone was starving so we invaded the McDonald’s. Buzz got the food while the kids played at the SS Trustworthy play area. Trey totally remembered it from our trips there before (four years ago)! That was cool to see-he was so excited to play on there again!! :goodvibes

OMG, no wine?!?!!? That's neat he remembered it - kids are so awesome

We all took a bathroom break, then got on Mulholland Madness. It’s a roller coaster that is sort of like Primeval Whirl without the spinning. You go right up to the edge of the track and TURN all of a sudden. This is quite scary if you’re the one sitting in the front of the car on the right side. It feels like you’re going to fall right off the edge. I had to close my eyes!

Sounds scary to me! :scared1: You're brave!

LeeAndra insisted we ride Jumpin’ Jellyfish. You sit on these jellyfish things and it lifts you up and down a little bit. Kind of like TOT, but not as high or as frightening. And it’s an outside ride-you don’t go inside. That was cute. Buzz hated it. It was short and mild-not scary at all. :cutie:

That sounds much more my speed

Then Buzz took us by the Hammer ride, trying to convince me to ride it with Trey. This ride is supposed to be like the hammer you swing (at a fair) and the bell rings, telling you how hard you hit. You sit and an imaginary hammer hits and you go rocketing up to the top where the bell rings.

Hammer ride?!?! I'd pass just based on the name!

This looks scarier than TOT so I passed on it, suggesting we ride the giant Sunwheel ferris wheel. Eek! You get a choice, whether you want your car to swing or not. We opted for Swinging. The ride starts and stops a lot while loading people. They load each car, then after it’s all loaded you go around only once, but it took forever and our car was really swinging back and forth. Scary! I started to get pretty sick. I can’t take that motion.
7.gif

 I'm with you, no way would my tummy enjoy that!

We made our way toward the exit. We wanted to do the river raft ride and wanted it to be our last ride b/c we knew we’d get soaked. We stopped outside of it to get a drink from a drinking fountain. Trey needed his shoe tied, so I bent down to do it and LeeAndra cracked up. She’s into underwear humor and I thought maybe mine might be peeking out but it wasn’t.

Yep, kids are entertaining :lmao:

One of those talking/moving garbage cans had moved right up behind me by my rear. I turned around and it was talking to me, asking me what I was doing. I have never talked to a garbage can before so this was “awkward.” I just said, “Tying his shoe.” Then I started to move away and it said, “Wait!Where are you going?” I said, “Uh to ride.” It kept following me. “What are you going to ride?” I said, “The ride.” I couldn’t think of what to say. I walked away feeling pretty dumb. Buzz got a good chuckle out of seeing me flustered. :confused3

Hilarious! Oh, the things that garbage can has seen, I'll bet :rotfl2:

The river raft ride loads similar to Kali, but the boat is smaller. Grizzly River Run is its name. We rode it with an older couple that couldn’t speak English and a younger couple (obviously their child and spouse) who could speak English. They were a lot of fun. Laughing and having a good time. We all got drenched, but the younger lady got hit in the face with a blast of water and lost her contact. :scared:

Eek, that's not good :sad2:

The ride starts off by taking you up a very long, high hill. There are 2 drops on this ride vs. Kali’s one. It’s much funner than Kali. (Is “Funner” a word?) Anyway, we liked it better.

Nope, but it really should be a word! :thumbsup2

We were totally soaked and knew we would be so we headed up to our room. It’s so convenient-the hotel is right there! I loved that! No driving!

That IS convenient!

We went back to our room and laid our wet clothes out on our balcony to dry. And that was our first day in the parks! We all had a great time! Can’t ask for much more than that! :upsidedow

Sounds like a great first park day, Linnie! I'm glad everyone is having a wonderful time :goodvibes

Coming up: Buzzila The Hun Goes After the Lifeguards [/QUOTE]

Hooboy, that oughta be an interesting installment! You go, Buzz! :woohoo:

Sounds like a really fun time! I've not been to DCA - it wasn't built yet the last time I went to DLR. :rolleyes1

It must be really convenient to be so close to the hotel! :goodvibes

THat is so cool that Trey remembers the play area
He has an excellent memory-definitely one of his strong points. :thumbsup2

Jim and I rode this in '01. Only way he was getting me on it was on the non-moving one's. THere are pics of me holding on for dear life and my eyes closed the whole ride. Jim was jumping all over the place taking pics. I don't do ferris wheels, ever since my mother told me the story about the time when she was little and was on one and it caught fire:scared1:

Yikes!! :scared1: I don't blame you! That's horrible!!

Glad raft ride was a hit.

It was! Next time, I'd like a poncho!

I would love to go to California Adventure but my sis doesn't want to. Need to find me someone to go with. I wanna ride California Screamin.

That's too bad-it's a GREAT park!! One of my favorites! Hey-meet us there on our next trip! :rolleyes1 If you aren't afraid of Buzz, that is....

Linnie, I will say it for DM...Where are the pics.

We loved Kali, but then again we rode it 5x. I would like to see that hammer ride.
McD's??? You are at DL and eat McD's. :rotfl2: What ever is easy and convienent, I am sure.

gotta love those talking cans. I can't believe you just brushed him off, poor, inocent can. Again, no pics.

Great update Linnie. Keep it up. You sound like you are having a great time.

Pics are coming!! ;) I'd like to have an excuse, but I don't. That hammer ride looked crazy. They zip you up to the top so fast- I knew I couldn't do it.

Yeah, McD's-what can I say....

That trash can was funny coming up behind me like it did. Makes me wonder who was running the controls? :headache:

What a fun update. I can't wait to hear about Buzzilla going off on the lifeguards!
Don't make us wait too long, okay?

Okey Dokey!! Pictures next, then the lifeguard incident. This one is the worst. :sad2:

California Adventure sounds like a blast so far! We'll have to get out there one of these years. Can't wait to hear about your next run in with those awful lifegaurds.

It really was fun! And the first day is always so extra magical. :wizard:

Aren't kids amazing

They really are! I was a little surprised at his memory being that good, but it always has been. Sometimes it works against us though. He's just now going barefoot after about 5 years of wearing only socks. ONe summer he got about 4 slivers in each foot and after that, he refused to go barefoot. And one time he fell in the road and skinned up his knee so he wouldn't wear shorts unless we forced him. It'd be a hundred degrees out and he'd have his sweats on. He's very protective of himself. :goodvibes

great update and pics. oh wait they come later.

I am sorry but I was laughing very hard when I read about the garbage can. I can just picture Buzz there watching this happen. :rotfl2:

I could not do the moving car on the ferris wheel. no thanks.

Look forward to the pics.

Oh no, you're not gonna give me grief about the pictures too are ya!! ;) :lmao: Maybe I need to get a little more on the ball here.... :hippie: Probably won't happen, but they will be up tomorrow. Probably.

That garbage can. Sheesh. What a time for me to be bent down. :sad2:

I won't be doing that ferris wheel again. :scared1: Scared me and made me sick.

You should actually feel honoured that the talking trash can came up to talk to your can! Seriously though. When we saw the one in Tomorrowland all these freaking kids were crowding it and my kids stood no chance.

Uhm, pictures?

:lmao: The can talking to my can! Funny. Pictures are coming!! I'm hoping for tomorrow!

Great update Linnie!

Thank you!!

The talking trash can incident was a hoot! Linnie can't even talk to other people let alone a talking trash can.

So I'm shy.... It balances out Loud Buzz. :headache:

OMG, no wine?!?!!?
I know!! What were we thinking!! :headache:

I think it's named something else. I just called it the Hammer ride. It just looked entirely too scary for me! Buzz was really trying to talk me into it though!

He got after 'em all right!

Dude! Aren't you in enough trouble for the gorilla comment already?! Enjoy that basement :rotfl2:

He's in it right now! Where he belongs! ;)

Sounds like a really fun time! I've not been to DCA - it wasn't built yet the last time I went to DLR.

It must be really convenient to be so close to the hotel! :goodvibes

It's worth going again just to see DCA. It's such a neat park! I loved the convenience of the hotel. At the end of the day, we're tired and bingo! The room is practically right there! No long drive or commute to get to your room!

I get motion sickness too.
Getting worse the older I get.:sad2:

Talking trashcans are sooo funny. DH and I watched one in Tomorrowland at WDW for about 30 min. Great watching all the kids giggle.

Waiting for the Life Guard story. Very curious, but then I know I'm going to get so mad.

Finally catching up Linnie!

LeeAndra comes running back out yelling, “There’s something wrong with our room! It’s not all there! Where’s the rest of it???”

:rotfl2: That's funny!

Lin said:
LeeAndra keeps asking me how are we going to sleep in only 2 beds? Where are we going to watch t.v.? Where’s the bathroom? Where do we put our clothes?

Now there's a lucky kid right there :thumbsup2

Lin said:
She promptly changes that. She and I in one bed and Daddy & Trey in the other. Ok, that’s fine. ;)

Awww...that's cute :goodvibes

Lin said:
Plus, I could tell Buzz was impatient with me.

 Men.

LeeAndra says they can’t go down with life jackets on.

Wazzup wit dat? :confused3

Lin said:
LeeAndra told me that the life guard doesn't think they can swim since they had life jackets on and he won't let them go down the slide.

D'oh :headache:

Lin said:
This guy wasn't mean-but the kids were pretty shook up about being told they couldn't go down the slide.

Omgosh - poor kids :guilty:

Lin said:
Only half way down he stopped and started screaming!! Oh my gosh-it was embarrassing!! I hurried to the bottom, jumped in to the water and yelled for him that I’d catch him.

Oh dear. Probably all upset over the lifeguard incident :sad2:

Lin said:
We went back upstairs and I unpacked while Buzz napped.

Again? Didn't he get enough rest at the pool?

LA with her new sunglasses on

What a cutiepie :cutie:

We threaten him with all kinds of punishment, but nothing works. I take LeeAndra to the bathroom and when we get back our food is there. Whew!

I can't even imagine what it must be like. You guys obviously have lots of patience.

Lin said:
Trey ordered the personal sized pizza, which probably said it on the menu, but we didn't notice -it was make it yourself.

That's neat!

Lin said:
I always order steak when we go out. Buzz eats out a lot so he gets tired of it, but I rarely eat out so that's my meal of choice.

Mine too unless there's pasta on the menu

Lin said:
We go back to the room and Buzz announces he’s going to go to the bar and see if he can bring me a glass of wine. I love that man!!

Aww...sweet :)

I got up, got out my dreaded contact case and opened it. My contact was folded up like a taco shell in the case. It dawned on me- my contact had been inside out! No wonder it was so painful! I told Buzz and of course, he had to say, “Ip Dip! So I put it right outside out, stuck it in my eye and boy did that ever feel better!! I’m ready to go now!

:rotfl2: I wouldn't have told him!

Lin said:
We’re the first ones at the rope drop so the CM comes over and asks our kids if they’d like to help him open the park. Trey does not. LeeAndra does. Two others join her.

Awesome!!!! :thumbsup2

Lin said:
We got off and got back on again! Three times in a row.

No way! :thumbsup2

Trey totally remembered it from our trips there before (four years ago)! That was cool to see-he was so excited to play on there again!!

This made me smile :)

I didn't know the trash cans "talked" to people! That was a surprise for me. I thought they just rambled and didn't interact. That must've been why I was so flustered, yeah, that's it.

Yeah!!! It's tomorrow!

yeah!

Me...afraid of Buzz? :rotfl2:

Hmmm...meet you there...will have to look into that.

:rotfl: Yeah, he's not real scary. Just real annoying.

Hi Blue! Thanks for getting caught up!! I gotta get caught up on the TR board! Pulled a muscle in my back and can't stay in one position too long. Getting old sux.

Here's some pictures:
I love the Muppet show

Spring_Break_08_055.jpg

From the Muppets, we headed back over towards the boat play area. On the way, Buzz found this big thing:

Spring_Break_08_061.jpg

The "Cat" as we call her when she copies us:

Spring_Break_08_062.jpg

A CM saw us and offered to take a picture of all of us:

I'm finding it hard keeping up with trippies. If I'm not on the boards every day, I seem to fall behind fast :headache:

Sorry to hear about your back - back pain is the worst :guilty:

From the Muppets, we headed back over towards the boat play area. On the way, Buzz found this big thing:

Spring_Break_08_061.jpg

And he calls you the gorilla in the family?? :confused3

A CM saw us and offered to take a picture of all of us:

Spring_Break_08_063.jpg

I'm assuming this CM is not a Photopass photographer since the shadows are so bad. If he/she was, then they need to do a bit more training.

Very cute! They almost look like they actually like each other! Our girls will do this every once in awhile!:rotfl:

On that ferris wheel, before the nausea hit:

Spring_Break_08_070.jpg

Very nice pic!

The Talking Trash Can

Spring_Break_08_075.jpg

So, this is the one who talked to your "can", huh? It doesn't look like you were being rude to it, as Buzz implied. :confused3

Grizzly River Run:

Spring_Break_08_083.jpg

Very nice family pic!

Great pics, Linnie! Thanks for sharing them!

So I replied and posted exceedingly witty remarks beneath each picture, Linnie. Then my computer decided to deny my post

So, let's pretend your pictures are in this post, k? :lmao:

So, what's that gorilla ... oops, I mean Buzz ... DOING to that poor defenseless tube thingy? :rotfl2: LG is so sweet! :goodvibes

LOVE the pictures of all of you in front of that poor violated tube thingy, the one of MB and LG holding hands , the one of you & LG on the ride and the one of all of you on the ride - better get some frames to hang those up! :thumbsup2

I'm still :rotfl: about the "can incident" - I hope we run into a talking can or two when we're in WDW this October. I would laugh soooo hard!

Thanks for posting the pics, Linnie, they're great! I can't wait for your next installment - I just know I'm going to be popcorn:: and  (at the lifeguards) at the same time!

Yeah! Pictures!
Buzz= weirdo

Holding hands... so cute! :cutie:

It looks like you were good buddies with the trashcan. :confused3
Buzz lies. j/k Buzz... :lmao:

great pics.

the one of Buzz = :sad2:

I really feel the need to got here, it has changed so much since I was there last.
