Our school calendar just came out and changed the usual fall break to two weeks earlier!!I was originally deciding between the Wonder and Fantasy, but the Wonder is the only ship with an open sailing the new week.
We’ve done the Dream four times in a 1-bedroom (5 of us - 3 little kids), so I was hoping to book one on the Wonder, but the only thing left was one 2 bedroom (there are 1 bedrooms, but they won’t allow 5 for capacity reasons) so I’d have to spend more than I was thinking. Anyone stay in one of these 2 bedrooms? How’s the motion (I usually have trouble only night 4 back to port on the Dream on 12)? Do you find you still use the concierge lounge? I’m excited to try a new ship and ports (out of San Diego) so help me get even more excited! What do you love about the Wonder?

We haven’t stayed in a 2BR. We do not need the space. 1BR is our go-to room on the classics when sailing the Caribbean.

The motion is not ship or room-location dependant. The waves and wind will determine that. We do not find the smaller ships any more rocky than the Dream-class ships in general.

We love the lounge on Wonder. We use it much more than the lounge on the Dream-class. On those ships, we grab things and go back to our verandah because we want to enjoy the view. On Wonder, there are windows all around. Do not miss the fireworks on the Concierge deck. They arrange chairs, bring out blankets. It’s great !

In Tiana’s, we request a table in the center of the room to get a better view of the shows and to help with pictures with Tiana and Louis.

I’ll chime in more because I have a follow up question.

We did a 1BR on the classics previously and it appeared to have room to sleep 5. We are only 3 so no need but the master (2), pull out (2) and the Murphy (1) would work. So are the 1 BR sold out, or are there only the aft rooms, which may not accommodate 5 the only ones available.

As for motion, I agree that wether and sea conditions matter most. Some folks say that more central and lower have less motion and that may be true but with rough seas it doesn’t seem to matter much. How it impacts an individual is pretty specific to that person. If you consider that theory of motion by ship location the Dream class ship’s concierge being forward and top would be the spot you “would feel the most motion”. Based on that the 2 BR being deck 8 and more midship would have less motion.

One thing that’s true with all bookings is that there needs to be space available in the muster station for the additional guests. When you book online, you might see available staterooms then, when you add your group, the system says there’s no room. That’s probably what’s happening in OP’s case since believe all 1BR on the classics sleep 5.

Some of the aft rooms and the HA have a slightly different layout. Those staterooms may not sleep 5. If you try to book a 1 BR on the classics the website list the occupancy as 4-5.

We have only had the “rotated” 1 Br on the classics, with the three balconies so I wasn’t sure if the standard layout is really a 4 or 5.

While the muster drill space could be a factor I am more interested in which rooms sleep 4 and which sleep 5.

Sorry my original post was not totally clear. The only 1BR left appears to be HA and only sleeps 4. It shows up if I try to book a cabin for 2. That’s why I had to go for the 2BR. The 2BR is definitely forward right by the forward elevators. Similar to where our 1BR on the Dream is usually on 12.
I’m sure I’ll love the space of the 2BR. We usually bring my parents along and the price increase for the 2BR is most of their fare!
