The "Will I Be Disappointed" Threads

My favorite posts on here & the Restaurant Board (esp. the RB) are, "I booked ----, then just read a bad review. Now, I'm worried. What should I do?" Worried? Really? Worried over something like that? :confused3

Exactly. Worried??? I don't get it.
Another favorite word I see on the resorts and the reservations boards-nervous. I can't imagine being "nervous" about a restaurant or a hotel. A root canal, maybe. :rotfl2:

We were lucky (or not) to stay first at the Yacht Club. Awesome experience, it was brand new - the trams ran to Epcot and the BW was not built. We learned that staying on-site was the way to go for the service, the transportation and the incredible atmospher compared to the Holiday Inn ;) . We couldn't afford YC again, so we tried PO(FQ). Totally random, I think. We totally fell in love with that and went back multiple times. We tried ASMu once to save a few bucks, and although I didn't like the size of the resort compared to PO, I didn't have a bad time - I was at Disney World!

If I had been able to research the way you can now on the internet, I would have been frozen with indecision I think. So now that I can, I never take anyone's opinion, only facts into consideration. What's in the room, how often do the buses run, etc. The rest of the magic we can make ourselves and a towel animal or crowded bus isn't going to matter.

Eating is the least of our concerns, other than making sure we get a Rice Krispie treat on Main Street and a Dole Whip. Everything else is really just fuel, although I can see where some restaurants are worth experiencing.

Too much information can be too much of a good thing.

I'm also a "glass half full" person. We just returned from a Caribbean cruise. Did lots of research and subscribed to a "cruise" chat site. Just like Dis, there were loads of negative and positive comments. Wrote down several pages of info. I thought would be helpful, and arrived with a positive attitude. Yes, we had a few blurps, but I wasn't expecting perfection. It was one of our best vacations ever!

I'm a "compulsive travel planner" and Dis has helped me more than I ever expected. Thanks to the info. here, I pretty much know what to expect at my chosen resort, restaurant, park, etc. I've never posted a "just booked ------did I make the right choice"...... I've stayed up late many a night doing searches, and found most of my answers without asking.

We stay at deluxe resorts, because we are adults and we only spend mornings at a park and then head back for pool time and enjoying our resort. Now, when I have grandkids.....values here we come!

Maybe I've just been lucky, but we've never had a bad experience. But my glass is never half full on vacation. I figure even a bad day at WDW is better than a day at work. :)
