How fun!!! Scheduling the platinum plan for just a night or new is an excellent idea, thanks!! I might do this for our upcoming trip. The WL is so romantic for couples-have a wonderful trip.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

I got the idea from the DIS. ;)

Unfortunately Disney has changed the rules starting in 2012, requiring a minimum of 3 nights.

We had planned to do a Premium night next year, but won't be now. :sad1:

I seem to recall reading that Disney is going to start requireing a min. 3 night stay to book the platinum plan and you have to book the plan for all 3 nights, but I am not sure when that takes effect.

Does anyone else remember hearing that about the platinum plan?

Guess we were both typing at the same time :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! A view like this would be just fine. Fingers crossed!! :goodvibes

I thought of another question if you don't mind... Do most rooms have full balconies? I don't think I've made note of it in our requests, but i don't really like the standing room only balconies that they have in many Beach club rooms. Should I request a full balcony?
Every WL room will have the same balcony with the exception of the 7th floor CL rooms which all have dormer/standing balconies. So you don't have to worry about requesting a balcony or about what type to request.

Just FYI -- to those requesting views -- we didn't request a specific view on our last trip -- said we didn't care. Well, we checked in on the first morning and saw the parking lot -- service entraance -- and trees. The big joke was "we sure didn't pay for this view" Again, we didn't care -- it was just REALLY bad.

Anyway, we get in that night and look outside -- and low and behold we had a beautiful view of the castle at night. I guess it was foggy or something because we could NOT see it in the day. I started crying when I saw it. Worked out great for my bff who had an 18 month old at the time. They would go back to the room and put him in his PJs and watch the "boom booms" and then he'd go right to bed

So, moral of the story -- even if it's bad, it might be REALLY good (just in disguise :woohoo:

What a magical story!! I'll definitely remember this when I get the first glimpse of our balcony view!!! What a fun memory for you!

Boogers! If it didn't require a non discounted stay, I'd book for 3 nights. However, staying club level in a deluxe room, I'm not sure that I want to spend the extra money for 3 nights. Our daughter is 17 so we want a little more room and privacy for both her and us. 1 night would have been fine.
Of course, I have been known to change my mind.:rolleyes1:lmao:

We just returned from a 5 night stay at WL. It was wonderful!! We booked a standard room and got upgraded to a courtyard view. We arrived on July 4th, so I was shocked with an upgrade.

Our view from our balcony: We could see the Water Parade every night if we were there.

Also, on 2 afternoons we had HUGE thunderstorms. The rain coming off the roof was incredible. Here's a pic of the crazy rain:

And of course our arrival :) :

We had no problems with the buses, except for one morning waiting to go to AK. The boats were wonderful. We ate at Whispering Canyon and Roaring Forks.

If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer.

Actually, I just priced out a 3 night Premium stay at a Value resort and it's only $500 more than we are paying for the 1 night Platinum stay next month!

Of course it is "only" a Value resort, but for as much time as we'd actually spend in the room, the value we could get out of 4 days of tours & activities might actually make it worthwhile!:thumbsup2

Thank you for posting photos and a mini review. That sure was a lot of rain:umbrella:. It reminds me of what we might be experiencing soon:upsidedow.

Have a great time on your cruise in a few weeks!

Nice pics. Wow, did it rain--enjoyed the rain shot!! Florida at its best!! Love the theming for this resort. We'll be there in the fall-cannot wait! Do you happen to recall what your room number was?

We are debating staying here in june. I am worried about the pool for the kids. Is it fun? I haven't had luck finding many pics of the entire pool. We swim a lot. We will only be there two nights and one day during that time will be at MK. We will swim the other days and during the afternoon of our park day. We have stayed at SSR and Kidani and loved the pools. How do you rate this one. My kids will use the slide they will be 5 and 8. Any advice on the pool area will be great. If we don't stay here it will be AKL just because of the pool.

I was contemplating changing my girls'trip this November. I am currently at GF SL, I was thinking of upgrading to the Main building at GF. When I was pricing out options the first Deluxe to pop up was WL. So I ran it by my friends who both said that it would be awesome no matter where we stay. We are checking out parks, but mostly resort hopping to check out decorations. I think WL would be lovely, and we would be saving some $$$ too. So I'm go back to pg 1 to re-read the thread......:wave2:

We've done Sugar Loaf and Royal Palm Court. SL was a BIG disappointment and we will never book that again. Royal Palm Court was great. That said, you can't beat WL for service and price-it's wonderful and the only other club level that I would book at WDW besides GF RPC.

Nice to see you over here again in the backwoods, pas!

Because this isn't the Resort Changer's thread nor the CL thread, I won't even begin to ask here why you're thinking of switching to RPC for your GO trip. But I will say that comparing RPC with the WL is a bit of an unfair comparo and the prices are way different. I love your indecisive resort chooser ticker warning!

Yes, WL is lovely at Christmas and very cozy and I would definitely stay at Christmas again. With the Deluxe room you'll have CL access, but not be on CL which is actually advantageous, IMHO because then you'll get a regular balcony.

For some reason the Deluxe rooms are more expensive at WL than BC, for example, and they're only 500 SF. So if you wanted to save money, the BC Deluxe is actually cheaper. I'm not pushing one or the other, but you mentioned saving some money over the GF. BTW, the GF Deluxe does not come with CL access, but I don't think you're considering that anyway.

Don't be a stranger!

I think I was in the same room last Feb. I paid for the courtyard view though so no free upgrade for me! Glad you had a wonderful time!!! I was at BCV from 7/6 to 7/15 so I experienced some of that horrific rain too!!!
