How do I make room requests if I have already booked? We will be at WL July 19. Thanks for your help.
First Welcome to the Disboards.

If you have already made your reservations just call CRO (Disneys-Central Reservations Office) and have your request added.

We got back from the WL late on Friday night. We thought the resort was really nice. Our mousekeeper left us towel animals every night, which my DD LOVED. We could tell she really loved her job. We got to meet her the day we checked out. :)

We were in room 1004 which was a GREAT location. It is woods view and we could see the MK fireworks every night. We were also very close to the door that led to the pool and bridge to the dock.

My only complaint about the room was the clock. It was an iPod dock (which was neat) BUT you couldn't read the clock. When the lights were on you had to bend way down to see the time and forget about trying to see the time when it was dark.

The Roaring Fork had very limited food options too which was a bit disappointing since we were relying on it for most of our meals. We ended up going to Cap't Cooks at the Poly one night but it wasn't really any better and we did NOT like the computer ordering- took way too long.

We were able to enjoy the pool one afternoon only. The water was nice and warm but it was way too cold outside.

We probably wont' stay again but only because I think we enjoy our off site condo better because of all of the room we have.

We're heading down to WL on Saturday! :goodvibes So excited! I have a quick question, though.. Does anyone know if the WL is seeing lots of cheerleader action? No offense to any cheer families out there, just merely curious if it's mostly just the value resorts that are seeing the high volumes of teenagers for there for sports competitions or if all resorts are seeing that as well.

Thank you! :)

Usually the cheer squads receive discounted packages at the Value Resorts, Disney seems to place them over at the All-Star Resorts. I have read that a few groups have stayed at the Moderates but never any reports of them staying at any of the Deluxe Resorts. You will be Cheer Free.

MAGICinMYHEART...thank you so much for your suggestion. I was wondering if you had to stay on the 7th floor? I really would prefer floor 6 with my open balcony.:thumbsup2

I will let you know the outcome. Thanks again! :)

We only saw the cheerleaders in the parks. None at WL. :woohoo:

Brian <-- who is finally back to work after digging out of almost 4 1/2 feet of snow! Wishing he was back at WL!

First off.. Welcome back! :goodvibes Hopefully, that snow will start to melt soon! pixiedust:

And thank you both for the confirmation! The WL seems like such a peaceful resort that I would hate to see some of what's been going on at the values happen there! :sad2:

Four more days to go! :cheer2:

I just booked about an hour ago & all the standard rooms are gone for our dates Aug 24-Sept 2. Is that normal? Last year we were there at the same time & the WL was a ghost town. And that was with free dining.:confused3

The standard room was never avail with our PIN (recd and booked in Oct) for our stay last week. AP (from the day first offered) rate was not avail on the standard or Woods. I checked every day! So I guess not odd. We were there Feb 5-12 (before the Pres day weekend . I just don't think they were included at least for my dates. (AKL was avail. at 131/night for AP)

If you were trying to book with a promotional rate, it's quite possible that there are no standard rooms offered, or if they were there are none remaining. However, they could be offered at the regular rack rate. Discounts are limited in each hotel and each room category. If you could not get the room you want at a promotional rate, it does not follow that the resort is busy or sold out, necessarily.

Thank you. I don't see anywhere where it would say this on my email. So that's why I thought they booked up all standards & the cm kept saying that there were none left but that she would put it in as a request for when I get there just in case of any cancellations. :confused3 Thank you!!!

Hi all. Back from our first stay at WL. It is a beautiful place. We were on the 6th floor standard but over the delivery facing fireworks. The views of the fireworks were awesome. We used a noise machine but I could still hear the noise from the delivery area. Hallway noise..nothing. We only used housekeeping a couple times. I rather people not be in our rooms. But the first was because our shower head was moldy.:scared1: and then the second was just a normal call. The did fix it right away. One thing I always wonder about hotels is why they make everything else so nice including the sink area, then make a cheap looking shower area??? In all my hotel stays I've only ever found one bath area to be really nice and that was in Niagara Falls. Also the morning of our departure I was making sure we didn't leave anything behind and lifted up the bedskirt...really wishing I didn't. stuff was there (garbage; empty pill case) that was not ours. I loved the ease of going to MK. The boat was the fastest. The buses to anywhere but MK were horrible slow. A few times we jumped on MK bus and grabbed the monorail. The lobby is a nice relaxing place. I found myself there a few times to get away from the kids and the hubby. Shhhh! IT was cold while there so we didn't use the pool. I can't wait until our next trip, don't know if we can/would stay there again. I do really like the place though. ps. about the clock in the room. I had a few issues with it. You have to push the button numerous times to either dim it or make it brighter.

Hi All,

I'm new to this board. But, reading all of the posts is gettting me excited about our trip. Our trip is planned for June 2010 for 9 days. I've been to WDW one time back in 1993 (stayed at CRB). But, I"m sure things have changed. This time I will be with my dh and my 2 ds (who are 7 & 8) and they have never been. (We have been to Disneyland in CA many, many times.) Anyways, trying to decide which resort to stay in has been a tough decision. First, we thought about staying at the Poly. I liked that it was on the Monorail and close to MK. But, it was pricey. Didn't really want to go to the Values or Moderates since my dh and I are tall and really wanted at least a Queen size bed. So, after much research (which can drive anybody crazy since every review has its plusses and minuses) we have decided to stay in a Studio at the Villas at the WL. I'm hoping it is the right decision. Do you think it is a good location for 2 active boys (who really don't want to be surrounded by Princess stuff)? I keep reading mixed reviews about the transportation from the WL. What has your experience been? I'm still wondering if we should have just went for the Poly. But, I like the idea of having a kitchenette in the room (which the Studio has). But, access to the monorail would be great (one son is a train fanatic). Hope I made the right decision.

Yeah the best advice is to keep calling. I was able to get my last two days changed to what I wanted less than a week before our trip. Hope you get what you want.

I so loved watching the fireworks from the room. That is still one of the highlights from our trip. ;)

This is definitely something I will be sticking to in the future. I felt so much better the days we left the Do Not Disturb on the door.

Thanks for your review!!!

Sounds like WL is a good option for you. We hit the monorail many times by taking the boat to the Contemporary. It was usually pretty quick. It is also nice to ride the boat back in the evenings.

Every resort has bus issues! It seems to be a complaint all over the boards, so take that with a grain of salt. I take public transportation everyday to work, and I know what waiting for a bus is like. Disney does their best, but there is truly no way to tell haw many people need to go where.

I'm sure the kitchette will come in handy with two active boys! Quick breakfasts!

Have a great trip!

Brian

Dumb question...If you cut housekeeping down what do you do about towels everyday-just call down & get some brought up?

That isn't a Dumb question...some guest don't feel the need for fresh towels everyday, sometimes there are only two guest in the room and have access to four sets of towels. Another option is to request additional towels before you need them or you may always call and request them at anytime.

Last option: Some people don't take a bath everyday....:rotfl2:
