My son has signed up for this teen excursion on CC, but he has never snorkeled or kayaked before. Do they take time to teach the kids? Is it a race? Will those who are not super-athletes be ridiculed or embarassed in any way?

TIA for your experiences!

My ds, (13 when we last cruised) signed up for the wild side and had a great time. He had never snorkeled or kayaked before that day. It is not a race. He had a partner (who was a sea virgin also). They did fine kayaking. My son did not like snorkeling, so he stopped and hung out with us on the beach and then rejoined the group after lunch. My only recommendation--make sure he uses sunscreen or wears a t-shirt. My DS was too cool to reapply sunscreen and paid for it that evening!!

I am glad to hear that! You've set my mind at ease. :flower:

I think it will be an awesome experience, and he is still pretty good about remembering the sunscreen, but I'll remind him!

Thanks!

I haven't done it. But I think there will probably not be so many teenagers on the ship this time of the school year, so the likelihood of several of them forming a clique and ridiculing others is low. Advise him to make friends with and stick close to one of the counselors.

Have fun!
