Alright, like the title indicates this is my first pre-trip report! I'll try to make it as painless as possible XD Let me introduce the characters for this little trip and provide some background wahoo!

The Introduction!
Me: Annalisa - the lord and master of this haunted man- I mean, the planner of the entire trip! That's right folks, i'm eighteen now so i'm technically an adult. I have to grow up sometime so it might as well happen while I plan our trip to the most magical place on earth.

Mom (laura): My lovely mother who is just happy to be on vacation! And seriously, no one deserves it more than her. She works extremely hard and is a constant emotional support for me so I decided she needed a break. I told her I would take care of everything (it turned out to be a little more work than I thought :rotfl: but Disney made it so much easier)

It's just a trip for me an her. We've never had a vacation with just the two of us so we're so excited! Our schedules are pretty busy so we'll have a few days to just slow down and enjoy each other's company.

While these members of the family won't be joining us they deserve honorable mention.
This is my sister Jessica. She's a senior at Washington State (go Cougs!) and is too busy with her zoology degree to come. She wants to train Shamu some day (seriously! My sister is going to get to jump off Shamu's face, i'm kind of jealous)

I love this picture; Goofy made her laugh so hard XD

Our little man Truman. He's been with us so long. We just learned he has heart disease :sad1: so we're trying to spend as much time with him as possible. He's my mother's one true love XD

My kitten Stella

I know i've scared you with all these cat photos but we absolutely LOVE animals, cat's in particular in case you couldn't tell XD

So, you're wondering why this trip, why now? Well, we both love Halloween and small crowds so WDW in October was a no brainer! We're both getting a little run down and wanted a special trip. Also, we'll be there on my mom's eighth year of sobriety so we're having a special celebration. I have a surprise planned for her but i'll get to that later! My last trip was about three years ago- it was awesome but I think this trip is going to top them all. My mom's last trip was about five years and she didn't get to really see Animal Kingdom when we went so i'm looking forward to showing her around.

I took this picture on our last trip

Up next is my tribute to Halloween Disney style, followed by where we're staying and ADR's. I hope you tune in!

Disney Halloween Tribute

Like I said, Halloween has a special place in our hearts. Every year we usually make a trip to Disneyland just to see Haunted Mansion Holiday and Candy Corn Acres. Here's a little tribute to Halloween at Disney.

Here's me looking a little too excited to be in front of that candy corn.

Candy Corn Acres always makes me hungry!

The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride.

I swear I will cross stitch this one day!
And mom and I love Nightmare Before Christmas so when Haunted Mansion Holiday time rolls around we get so excited.

Tower of Terror has a special place in our hearts too but we like the one in WDW a little more so we're really looking forward to that. Twilight Zone is my favorite tv show so I know the spiel before the ride (it's the intro to the fourth season!) I always get wierd looks from people that think i've been to Disney too many times XD

We tried the Trick or Treating at California Adventure and it was alright, although it was definately geared more towards younger kids. But we thought we'd give MNSSHP a try. I can't wait to see Hallowishes and the parade. I'm knitting some candy corn shaped bags for us to use when we Trick or Treat around the parks. I'll post some picks when they're fully done.

We're also doing the Haunted Carriage ride because I love the legend of the Headless Horseman! I'm definately bringing my video camera for that.
I hope you enjoyed my Disney Halloween tribute! Tune in for our ADR's and day plans! Thanks for reading :)

The Dates and Accommodations

Oct. 23rd - Oct. 27th
We'll be flying all day Oct. 23rd and will get in to Orlando at about 5 PM. We leave on Oct. 27th so it will be a short trip but we're used to short trips. We've never stayed for more than about five days so we're always cramming 5 or 6 parks into five days XD Let's just say that we're a little less than energetic at the end of our vacations, but in a good way!

We changed our minds several times regarding where to stay. First we look at PORFQ, ASMU, but we finally decided on *drumroll*......

Caribbean Beach Resort!

It's close to Epcot where we're going to be spending most of our time and it looked so relaxing. We've stayed in Disney hotels a few times, once at the Wilderness Lodge when I was five (which was awesome) and maybe one other time but I don't remember. I've taken four trips to WDW and twice i've stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. I know, I know it's not Disney but it is an amazing hotel. We usually always go to Universal so the free front of the line passes are great. But this trip is Disney only! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures of our hotel for my trip report when we get back.

The ADRs

Now it's time for our ADRs. We've eaten at a few of these places before but I decided we should be adventurous and try some new stuff. I tried my best to get CRT, i've called every day for a month but no luck. I'm going to keep calling though just in case XD I've changed several reservations and I actually have Disney Dining in my phonebook...that's right, that's how cool I am

Oct. 23rd:
We don't have any planned for that evening because we want to see how things go. We'll get in at about five, get our rental car, and hopefully have checked into the hotel by 6:30. Then we were thinking about checking out Wolfgang Puck Express and the DTD shops. We're doing the Haunted Carriage ride at ten so we're just going to give ourselves plenty of time.

Oct. 24th:
For most of the mornings we're going to have a quick breakfast in our room so we can get to ropedrop. We've never been there early enough and I really think it will help us get in the more popular attractions. We're planning on checking out the food and wine festival in the early evening. I'm not 21 yet so I can't drink and my mom doesn't drink so unfortunately, no wine for us this year! We'll be eating at Bistro De Paris for dinner! I've always wanted to eat here.

Oct. 25th:
This day we're doing lunch at the Brown Derby. The Brown Derby is a tradition of ours so we do it every trip. I'm a huge old movie fan so I love it there! We're having an early lunch because i'm surprising my mom with dinner and Victoria and Albert's. I've never eaten there before but I hear great things about it and it's her celebration dinner so I splurged. We're on the waiting list for the Chef's table but it's no big deal if we don't get it.

Oct. 26th:
We're actually having an early breakfast at Kona Cafe on this morning. I've never been to the Poly but i've always wanted to go :lovestruc And the Tonga Toast looks amazing! We're not sure what to do for dinner that night because we have MNSSHP - we'll probably just end up eating loads of candy :rotfl:

Oct. 27th:
We decided that we'll be too tired to get up for breakfast after MNSSHP

So, to summarize:
- Bistro De Paris
- Brown Derby
- Victoria and Albert's
- Kona Cafe

I hope these are good choices!

The Itinerary

Alright, so usually we don't really have any plans when we go on our trips. :scared1: Scary I know but DIS has kind of turned me into a planning freak! :rotfl: We had never made any ADRs before this trip (can you believe it?) but then again we haven't really had too many trips to the World. I have to admit I may have gone a little overboard with the planning but I couldn't help it! I only had so many days to get everything crammed in and i've worked my butt off to get everything perfect! My mom just doesn't understand, she thinks all this magic just materializes. This was basically me checking the October ADR cancellation/trade board every morning for a CRT reservation :surfweb:

To be honest I had a BLAST planning this trip. I'm actually a little sad that I don't really have anything left to plan! I can't wait to do it again XD I really just want this trip to be amazing for my mom. I made the reservations and Disney will do the rest! My mom is just so ready for a vacation this is her everytime we talk about it

Okay so things probably won't be exactly as I planned and I was really worried that we'd be rushing around if I planned too much but I think I found a good balance. Here's our plans so far:

Oct. 23rd
- We're getting in at 5PM. We'll get our rental car and hopefully check in by 6:30PM. Then we're going to DTD! WPE for dinner maybe - my mom loves the salads there. And of course the wonderful Disney shops. We've never been to DTD at WDW, just DLR (our second home) so i'm really excited. I looked online and saw some shops i'd love to see

- World of Disney
- Art of Disney
- Arribas Brothers
- Days of Christmas
- Mickey’s Groove
- Mickey’s Mart
- Mickey’s Pantry
- Pooh Corner

We might shop for a few hours but chances are we'll be tired and will go back to the room to rest before our Haunted Carriage ride at 10! I'm so excited for this! I'm bringing my video camera solely for this experience. Then we'll catch some zzz's

Oct. 24th

Up bright and early to get to Animal Kingdom for ropedrop (another first for us). We went to AK when it had first opened but we all were still sick from some food poisoning so we left early. This time we're doing it all. Hopefully being there early will help us see some of big attractions. I LOVE EE and mom hasn't even seen it so we're going there first. I got to see the Yeti when he was in A mode! Too bad for mom though - she'll still love him in B mode though. Then to Dinosaur (love this movie and the ride even if it is a little jarring). Here's the things we'd like to see.

- Expedition Everest (as many times as possible)
- Kilimanjaro Safari
- Dinosaur
- Nemo musical
- Trails
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug
-Tam Tam's of Congo

I've never done Kilimanjaro Safari so i'm really looking forward to it. I've seen the Nemo musical on the travel channel and it looks amazing so we're going to try and do that. I want to show her all the amazing animals on the different trails. I saw a musical show with African drummers and I think it was the Tam Tam's of Congo but i'm not sure. We're not really sure where to eat though. I was thinking maybe Flame Tree but I think we'll just play it by ear.

In order for us to see everything we want to we have to park hop so later on in the afternoon we're heading to Epcot. We've made room for Epcot twice, one day for rides and another for WS. Here's some things we'd like to see at Epcot
- TT
- Seas with Nemo
- Mission Space
- World Showcase
- Spaceship Earth
- Maelstrom (Norway)
- Ellen’s Energy Adventure
• Taiko Drummers
• Chinese musicians, inside Temple of Heaven
• Acrobats in China

ADRs: Bistro De Paris

I absolutely LOVE Mission Space. It's one of my favorite rides EVER and mom has never been so we're going to do it several times. My mom has a huge crush on Gary Sinise so that's a plus :lmao: I plan on spending the majority of my spending money at World Showcase as the shops in China and Japan. I always love speaking Japanese with the workers in the Japan pavilion. Taiko drumming also has a special place in my heart; I go to Taiko concerts whenever I get the chance. We've never done Ellen's Energy Adventure but we love Ellen so we're doing that. Never done Seas with Nemo and friends although we have been on the subs at Disneyland. And I didn't even know Maelstrom existed until about a month ago XD so we're going to try that. I remember the Chinese acrobats when I was a kid and how inferior they made me feel :rotfl: I think i'll appreciate the show much more now that i'm older. Mom's a huge soccer fan so we'll spend some time in the UK pavilion so she can get some merchandise. My moms family history is basically all British and I guess there was some royalty or something on her side so she feels all proud  We're also going to eat at Bistro De Paris which will be a first; everything sounds so yummy!

Oct. 25th
This is our Hollywood Studios day! I still like to call it MGM though. Tower of Terror is my second favorite ride next to Haunted Mansion so we'll make a beeline over there. We'll grab fast passes for the Aerosmith Rollercoast too. We may or may not check out TSM - we'll probably just make use of short lines other places in the park. Here's some things we'd like to see:

-Tower or Terror
- Movie Set (Haunted Mansion)
- RockNRollercoaster
- Shops
- Star Tours
- One Man’s Dream
- Pixar Place
- Indiana Jones stunt show

ADRs: Brown Derby and Victoria & Albert's

I had heard that there was the Haunted Mansion movie set there and I love the movie so I really want to see that! We've never done One Man's Dream so we'll swing by there too. We have lunch reservations at the Brown Derby (yay!) but i'm going to advise mom to have a light lunch because we have surprise dinner plans for Victoria and Albert's. We'll have some snacks at the F&W festival too.

After lunch it's back to Epcot for everything else we didn't get to see and then back to the hotel to change for dinner.

Oct. 26th
Today's the big Magic Kingdom day! Breakfast at Kona Cafe with Tonga Toast will start the day off right. I can't wait to see the Poly. It's my dream to stay there one day :lovestruc Hopefully with the CP discount I can spend the night there on my birthday. Then it's off to the Castle. We don't have strict plans for the day but we have some things we'd like to see.

- Space Mountain
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Splash Mountain
- Teacups
- Thunder Mountain
- It’s a Small World!
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Stich’s Great Escape
- Buzz Lightyear ride
- Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor
- Haunted Mansion
- Cinderella's Carousel
- Jungle Cruise
- Cinderella’s Castle

ADRs: Kona Cafe for breakfast

I also have to remember to send postcards to the family's for "pass it on". DIS boards are so great! We've never done the Monster's Inc. laugh floor and it's my favorite pixar movie so we thought we'd check it out if we had the time. Teacups are a must, even if I have to drag mom on kicking and screaming!

Okay, as a side note, we're going to do Stitch's Great Escape because I remember when it was Alien Encounter. Ah yes, the terrifying memories. Thanks mom and dad. I remember being five years old strapped into that dang contraption with that alien running around eating people. And it was AWESOME!! Too bad they took it out. It always did seem a little bit out of place though...And then we have the highlight of the whole trip, MNSSHP! We're not really dressing up but mom is wearing her Nightmare Before Christmas headband and i'm going to wear my super convincing vampire fangs. I'll post the pics of our Trick or Treat bags later. They turned out great. We're going to trick or treat, then watch the fireworks and see the later parade. So exciting!

Oct. 27th

This is the day we leave :sad1: We'll be too tired to get up for breakfast after doing MNSSHP so we're going to sleep in and then head to the airport.

And That's It!
Basically we're going to be dragging our feet by the end of this vacation but that's okay, we want to do as much as possible. Who needs sleep anyways??!!

Someday i'd like to take one of those really long vacations I hear people talking about - the ones that are like two weeks long and you can actually have days to rest in between XD I'm working on convincing my mom to move to Florida because i'm pretty sure after my CP i'm going to want to work for Disney till I die. I'm going to buy my mom a beautiful house someday and we will be DVC members someday too! I'd like to stay at every Disney hotel before I die. I know it's a big task but i'm up to it!

Great Start! I love CBR!!! It is very relaxing and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too. :beach:

We are having breakfast at Kona Cafe so hopefully I can report back before you leave on how it was. It looks delicious!!! :thumbsup2

You'll LOVE DTD at WDW. We go to DLR all the time too and I cannot wait to go see DTD properly. Although I do think DL has done a good job too. It might be a little funny now with PI gone. :sad1:

Your pics of DL are making me miss that park now. :lmao: We have AP's there usually and we havent been since June. That seems so long ago. I miss it! :lmao: :lmao:

Can't wait to hear more! :thumbsup2

Hi Annalisa,
I saw your PTR on Shawna's PTR (Hi Shawna!), and thought I'd pop over.
Love the photos, I'm sure you'll have a great time at the MNSSHP. I love all the Halloween decorations!:hippie:
We were meant to be there now, and had tickets for the party but our travel company went bust and we rebooked for November. So we'll see all the Christmas decorations! :lovestruc
You sound really organised, and your ADrs are all good, we love Boma.
I'm trying to book a character breakfast ADR at Ohana, but no luck so far, will keep trying.
we had managed to get a lunch ADR at CRT originally, but had to cancel it - so keep trying, there will be cancellations!
The CBR looks lovely, I was checking on DIS and they've redone the pool area, it looks brilliant, one of the best in WDW now :thumbsup2
Looking forward to hearing more!

I'm so sad that PI is gone! I vaguely remember it when I was a kid and I told myself I would come back when I was older :sad2: It's too bad. I used to have passes to Disneyland too and since they've expired I feel like something is missing in my life XD

Oh my gosh i'm so sorry to hear about the travel company. I'd love to go to MVMCP sometime though, it looks amazing. The pool looks awesome and even though the pirate ship is for kids I know i'm going to get some pics on that thing XD Thanks for the tip about CRT; i'm not going to give up!

Ur plans sound awsome! I hope to make it WDW for teh MNSSHP one year!

Thanks for stopping in :goodvibes

Great TR so far! The trip sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun!:thumbsup2

Your plans sound great! My sister and I just went to Disney in August and I planned our entire vacation myself and it was so much fun!!! And believe me, I was just as organized, if not more so, than you are. I even made my very own Disney folder to keep all of my important documents and printed out itinerary in--the front desk agent who checked us in was very impressed! LOL.

Bistro de Paris is soooo good-it was definitely our favorite meal of the trip, y'all will love it! I've eaten at Victoria & Alberts too and it is such a fun experience! I still have my personalized menu with my name on it....it's 8 years old. And in mint condition! I'm a dork. :]

Oh, and doing DTD on your first night is perfect! That's what my sister and I did and it worked out wonderfully. It is the perfect way to start out your Disney vacation and you can definitely do everything there in one evening, plus you don't have to spend the money on a park ticket for a few hours or just sit in your hotel room. Oh, and I would also recommend Soarin' at Epcot. I didn't see it on your list of rides but it is amazing!! You should definitely do it if you have the chance!

It sounds like you and your Mom are gonna have a magical time! :wizard: I can't wait to see your pics and hear how everything goes! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I'm so excited to get a personalized menu XD
I was wondering whether DTD would be a good thing to do the first night and your confirmation is a big help.

We've done Soarin' at DCA and we love it! We just heard that there's generally a long line at Epcot so if it's too big we'll just skip it. But if it's short we're definately going on.

Thanks for the tips!

I just wanted to give everybody a quick look at our Halloween tree. That's right, every year my mom lets me ravage her Christmas tree with my Orange lights and black and orange ornaments.

halloweentree-1.png

The lights kind of look like chili peppers

And of course, our tree topper is the Grim Reaper XD
treetopper.png

And I just got back from a quick DL Halloween trip yesterday. I'm happy (and scared) to say that i've started pin collecting. I'm not really sure how the trading works but for now i'm just going to buy pins of stuff I like. I'll coordinate the themes later XD

I got the Bisto De Paris reservation and the CM said that casual dress was fine but that a collared shirt was required. The only casual collared shirt I have is my boyscout shirt XD! I definately don't think that's nice enough...

We stayed at CBR for our first trip. I figured it was like two trips in one, one at Disney and one at the Caribbean.:rotfl:

So, to summarize:
- Bistro De Paris (hopefully)
- Brown Derby
- Victoria and Albert's
- Kona Cafe
- Boma for breakfast

I hope these are good choices!

Boma's is a must for us. And you really should check out AKL. It's pretty cool. :thumbsup2 on having Disney on speed dial.

I got the Bisto De Paris reservation and the CM said that casual dress was fine but that a collared shirt was required. The only casual collared shirt I have is my boyscout shirt XD! I definately don't think that's nice enough...

It is a collared shirt!? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Love the Halloween tree! :thumbsup2

I love that about Disney hotels! I'll be in Epcot in China during the day and then I get to come home to the Caribbean. It doesn't get much better than that. I'm so excited for Boma - I know i'll be so full afterwards so we can just waddle around AKL XD Thanks for reading!

Haha they can't turn me away! I'll just point to the collar and act all smug XD
The Halloween tree is like neon orange XD It almost hurts to look at it. My cat's LOVE it though. They spend most of their time dozing underneath it

I'll try to update soon! Thanks to everyone for reading

The candy corn in the first post (or was it second) is awesome! Dh loves, loves, loves candy corn. Look like you'll be there the same time as us. We are so excited about Disney in October! Fall is my favorite season, and although Halloween has not really been, (or at least in my eyes) it quickly is becoming it! Can't wait to read more!!!
