Is it OK to take this pen home or should it be left for the next Guest?:)

From the guest room? Yes, it is a consumable along with the resort notepad. It will be replace when the room is serviced. Now if you are asking if you should take it everyday for a multi-day stay, that's where it gets into an interesting discussion.

From other locations where you might be tempted to just grab a handful ( yes, I have seen it happen.. )? No, please consider other guests the may need it before it can be replace.

Dave

Thanks!:)

The reason I'm asking is that I had the Pen with me when I signed fo an ECV one day and the CM didn't see me take it from my pocket and asked for it back.

When I told her it wasn't one of "theirs" and that I had brought it from my Resort room, she looked at me like I wasn't supposed to remove it from my room.

(Of course,I could have "misread" her.):)

I leave them...my husband makes it a game to swipe it. I always find it upon return home, but he hides it good in the luggage, etc. when we are packing to leave.

I noticed recently that they don't provide the lids anymore and wondered if this was to deter people from taking them..they might leak all over your bag. also what's with the 3 sheets of paper on that little pad. Do they order them like that or are they used up from previous guest? I have never had a more full one in all my stays in 16 years.. I use this up on day one!

I like the pen. Bring back my lid.. I take mine. They are good quality pens!

Just a couple of words of caution when packing any pens in luggage for air travel or hot Florida weather. They can leak, so consider where you pack them and what else is next to them. Think white items with lots of blue pen stains.

Ugh, my husband does the same - its even worse when he does it at restaurants (if they have logos)! We have enough pens! :sad2:

There should be a lid on/for the white pens, it sounds like you got a leftover unit from a previous guest. Also the current notepads should start with 8-10 sheets of paper with a cardboard back sheet when initially placed in the guest room.

As a consumable, it is replaced as needed/used so it may stay beyond a single guest stay.

Thank you! I will ask for a refill next time I wonder if it is because they are DVC rooms they are not cleaned every day you see.

I like the DCL ones also!

I used to take mine but my honey threatened all sorts of nasty stuff if I brought ONE. MORE. PEN. into the house. I'm bad to pick them up everywhere, trade shows, our local wine shop, hotels, etc.

We have some family friends who were in the hotel industry. Basically they don't mind if you took home the pens. The reason the pens are printed with the logo is that every time you use it, or look at it sitting on your desk, it creates a little consumer impression that puts the brand into your mind (even if just tucked way in the back).

Of course, they don't put the Disney World logo on the lamps or the television, as those aren't for you to take. But they do brand the soaps and shampoos, knowing that many folks will swipe those as well.

Not sure about the towels or robes, though those are obviously not for the taking.
