The Whimsical Spirit of the Conch Republic - a June TR - Day 4-Part 3 updated 7/17

I love all of those nooks and crannies around AK, it's such an overly-detailed park!

I'm glad that you were able to find the AP so easily! I definitely would have panicked then! :scared1:

I love it, too. Such a wonderfully themed place.

I was glad, too !! Whew !! DH said I was fired from getting fast passes. But DS stepped in and fessed up that he was the one that left it in the machine. My hero !!

Day 1 – Part SIX

So after DD finished her ice cream we rode the safari. And it turned out that it was walk on and we didn't need fast passes anyway. This is the second time we have done Animal Kingdom on arrival day and all of the ride times drop drastically after that parade. So if there is just a couple of things you like to do there, going after 3:45 PM to get them done is a good strategy.

DH took photos so I could enjoy the ride.

You got your scrolling finger ready ??

So DD noticed that the poaching stuff was all removed from the ride and she asked me about it. I told her they were changing it because some people didn’t like it. “well, I liked it,” she said, “it made it more exciting.” I said that I thought so, too, but they changed it because other people didn’t like it.

Then she said ……..”well they probably figured out the baby elephant at the end was fake.”

LOL. I was laughing so hard. She cracks me up.

Some photos outside the safari.

DSC03360.jpg

See this jeep ??

DSC03358.jpg

Inside is where they stashed all of the poacher stuff.

DSC03362.jpg

Weird huh ??

DSC03363.jpg

So outside the safari, they had a woman making bracelets and key chains for kids. They had a little table set up and she was so sweet and so pretty.

DSC03365.jpg

And MAN, could she braid fast. Took four pieces (not three) and braided it in like 5 seconds. It was seriously amazing.

DSC03366.jpg

DSC03367.jpg

She got two key rings.

DSC03368.jpg

DS had finally talked DH into going on Expedition Everest, so we headed back over there so they could get their ride on.

Sausage Tree

DSC03369.jpg

On the way, there was this guy playing this instrument. He was playing Ode to Joy and it was amazing.

I am a firm believer that many drinks are infinitely better when they're frozen. Coke, lemonade, coffee, vodka.........:rolleyes1

That's awesome that the CM had the tickets in hand and you were able to get DD's annual! I know what you mean, replacing the pass means having to walk all the way back up to the front, blah blah blah.

Believe me, I could have told you before that you're not the only person who has done that with their pass. I could imagine it's extremely easy to do.

Yes, that lemonade sure could have used some vodka !!

I was really relieved as well. DH tends to freak over those kinds of things.

LOL. Yes, I was happy to see that stack of tickets. It made me feel not so stupid.

I see your ticker !! Four more days !! Oh. My. God !!! I bet you are soooo excited !! And I saw your cute haircut on FB yesterday. You look really good and I hope that it makes you feel good when I say that I can really tell in your face that you have lost weight. That even though it was a head shot, you look thinner. Keep up the good work. I KNOW how hard it is !!! I need to lose 50 plus myself !!!

Aww, I love the random little quirks about Animal Kingdom. Braiding lady and Ode to Joy guy. Awesome. :thumbsup2

Day 1 – Part Seven

So we were headed towards Expedition Everest so DH and DS could ride. DD, on the other hand, “was not getting on that thing.” So she and I found a table where we people watched until they got back.

DSC03372.jpg

DSC03373.jpg

DSC03375.jpg

I really enjoyed watching the people. I saw some ladies with 5 inch wedges on. Seriously, what are they thinking ?? You look cute, I guess, but your feet have GOT to be killing you. Comfort before beauty for me.

DH and DS came back and we jokingly took this photo.

DSC03376.jpg

Come on, it wasn’t that scary !! He loved it, said it wasn’t scary at all.

Then it was time for our ADR at Yak and Yeti.

We ordered this plain and it came with everything. I asked DS if he wanted another one, but he said no. So we scraped off what we could and he ate like four bites. I had a bite and I loved it. Picky kids !! What are ya gonna do ??

DH and I split the Crispy Mahi-Mahi.

Crispy Mahi Mahi - filet of mahi mahi, Japanese bread crumbs, Cantonese sweet and sour sauce, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables $22.99

DSC03384.jpg

This is so yummy. We really enjoyed it. Maybe this time the fish was a little dry, but still it tasted amazing. Very delicious.

For dessert, DD got the kids sundae

DSC03385.jpg

Which she liked.

DS got the sorbets.

Sorbet - Mango, lemon, raspberry $6.99

DSC03386.jpg

Very light and refreshing. I liked the lemon best, but DS liked the Mango. DH liked the raspberry best.

DH and I split.

The fried wontons.

DSC03387.jpg

Seriously, y’all. This is the most amazing dessert ever. Soo, so, so good !!
Basically, this is the same meal we had in April. Heck, if it isn’t broke … don’t fix it. AmIright ??

I'll comment on your update too tonight when I get home.

I'm crawling out of my skin right now. Sitting at work, wishing the day would be over.

Thanks soooo much for the compliments. It's been tough, and I know it's not going to be easier. I still have a long way to go though. But I'll get there.

Try the Myfitnesspal app/website. I swear by it now. It's so easy to use and it's helped tremendously. :goodvibes

Yes ...... I have that app. I just need to USE it. That would help. I just need my taste buds removed. I'm convinced they are the culprits !!

Day 1 – Part EIGHT

DD wanted to ride Dinosaur again. It was almost time for the park to close, so we had to hurry.

Some more park photos.

DSC03388.jpg

There were these Asian ladies dancing and they were out there dancing for hours. Very energetic. Getting the crowd involved.

Some photos on the way over to Dinosaur.

So the kids and DH rode Dinosaur. Not my favorite ride. Just so jerky and bumpy. So I rested while they rode.

DSC03401.jpg

I had a visitor.

DSC03402.jpg

This duck was NOT shy. Came right up to me and softly quack-quacked.

Then he brought a friend.

Pluto !!

Goofy !!

After having such a long day, we were all out by 9:00 PM. ZZZZZZ

Great first day !! :thumbsup2

We eat lot's of chicken strips too. My boys are super picky. Good to know where the best ones are though. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the rest of your trip !

:welcome: So glad to see you again !!

My kids hate the "kids" nuggets. They like the "adult" ones. And I agree that they taste better. We definitely have figured out all of the good places to eat. There are many others I would like to try, but they don't have things that the kids will like ...... sigh.

Hahah I do the same thing at restaurants. If I know I like something, why try something that I might be disappointed with? Yall's food at Yak and Yeti looks like it was great.

Glad yall had a great first day!

Day 2 – Part ONE

EPCOT !!!!! My favorite park !! I never feel like I get enough time in this park. We got up at 7:00 AM (well I did, everyone else chased pillows for another half hour). I got some coffee made and tried to get everyone to eat a little something. We headed out about 8:30 AM.

The gate was pretty crowded when we got there, but surprisingly, we found a fairly short line. We got in the park and DH took off for Soarin’ FP’s.

DSC03425.jpg

The kids and I headed over to Innoventions. They wanted to ride Sum of all Thrills before the line got too long. And since Test Track was down, there wasn’t that to hurry to.

DSC03432.jpg

While we were waiting for DH to get back from his FP run, he called and said there was NO ONE in line for the Epcot Character Spot.

DSC03464.jpg

So we rushed over there and sure enough we were the second people in line. DS was too cool for character photos. But not DD.

While we were seeing Goofy DH showed up so we went over to:

DSC03445.jpg

The kids love this ride. DH always rides with DD, but DS makes his coaster way too wild, so I don’t ride with him. It is really fun though. If you have never tried it, you should. But go early. The line gets long and it is slow loading.

DSC03450.jpg

Up next ….. Mission Space – Green. DS wants to try Orange, but I won’t let him. He gets motion sick and I don’t want a sick kid for the rest of the day.

DSC03455.jpg

DSC03456.jpg

DSC03459.jpg

Gary Sinese !! I love him.

DSC03460.jpg

So we rode and it was fun. We saw a couple of people chicken out of the GREEN side. The fear of the unknown, I guess.

We went by Test Track and there was this group out there singing.

DSC03461.jpg

They were good singers, but this whole attempt to pacify people was lame.

Yeah... the Test Track singers are a little much in my opinion. I feel like if it's closed, I'm not even going to bother going over there.

Did you hear that Gary Sinese is going to be a narrator for the Candlelight Processional this year?

That whole singing thing was stupid. People were just standing there looking at the with this confused look on their faces. I am pretty sure it mirrored mine.

I love Gary Chinese !!! I really do. I wonder if it will be the same we are there for Thanksgiving.
