Bits and pieces from this weekend....

Very nice pictures. I especially like the one of the red balls. ;)

Busy, crazy weekend. Friday I was not feeling too well, too much MSG, so I went home early and rested. Friday night we picked up my godson from the airport, coming home from college for the first time, then went out to dinner at Applebees.

Food was okay but the people at the next table were horrid and no one did anything about it. We weren't about to do anything because they had been drinking, A LOT, according to the waitress. Didn't end up getting home until 1am.

Saturday I got a late start and didn't get to VA until after the swim meet started and then didn't end up staying anyway. Apparently the whole thing was one big mess. There was no parking on site, would have had to walk 1/3 mile, and then might not have been able to stay anyway. There were so many people in the pool area the fire marshall threatened to shut it down. To top it off there was no starter system so my BIL had to not only announce the events and heats he had to yell BEEP! :rotfl: He ended up losing his voice by the end.

I took my oldest DN to find a place to get breakfast, we were in the boonies, and to try and find a 5 Below so I could get a phone charger. I left mine at home and hadn't charged the night before, the phone died because I used it as a GPS. :headache: Mind you, it died in the middle of trying to get directions to a 5 Below. So here I am, dead phone, and my Dsis's GPS takes her the back roads from the meet to the oldest ones b-ball game with me following her. Some idiot gets between us doing 20MPH in a 25. :scared1: I am freaking out because I have not a clue where I am and we are in a residential area, no stores, gas stations, nothing, and Dsis doesn't realize I am about a mile behind her. I was finally able to catch up right as we hit an area I do know.

After her game, and a trip to 5 Below :thumbsup2, we went to lunch at MiMi's Cafe. Really good food, had quiche, salad and a really good chocolate chocolate chip muffin. Did some shopping and went to Dsis's house for a few hours.

Now for something really :sad2:. I got home at 9pm, ate some dinner, and at 11 went downstairs. Got jammies on, laid down and was gone! Wake up at 3:30 having to go to the bathroom and when I come back I looked at my phone. Missed a call, and had a hang up voice message, from my DM at 1:42am. She worked until 12am and the more I thought about it the more it freaked me out. Went upstairs, then realized the lights were off that I left on, there were dishes, etc. so she had been home and the deadbolt was locked.

I asked her about it the next morning, she didn't think I was home, although my stuff, keys, jacket, bag, were in the hallway and the lights in the living room and Christmas lights outside were on. So later she asks me how I got a parking space so close. I said I got home at 9 there was plenty. The woman still thought I was not at home when she called me because the lights and TV were off downstairs. :headache:

Yesterday I went out w/my BFF, this time we had lunch at Red Robin so I could get my free burger, and then shopped until we were ready to drop. We were gone for 8 hours.

Now that I am completely salt soaked I think I am going for something simple like eggs and toast for dinner. :rotfl:

Honey, you have had quite the weekend!

My brother works at Red Robin. I love their fries and that yummy sauce that comes with them.

I hope your birthday was great!

UncleR and I are back from our lunch date.

We went to this local Italian eatery...built inside an old gas station. (First clue)

They brought out this absolutely delicious garlic bread and I thought, "Okaaaay, this is going to be delish!"

Then, they brought out the fried calamari we ordered. Not the best I've ever had, but not the worst either.

I ordered a spinach calzone and UncleR ordered eggplant parmesan which comes with spaghetti.

My calzone was so big that it could have fed my whole family of 4. I didn't even eat a quarter of it. But, it was good.

UncleR's spaghetti was so watery that it absolutely ruined the eggplant on the plate by making it soggy. And the spaghetti was so salty that I think my blood pressure shot up 20 points while we were sitting there.

Right before we left, I took a visit to the restroom. All I'll say is, I can't ever go back to that place again. :scared1:

Then we went grocery shopping and got the rest of the stuff we needed for Christmas eats, dinner, and goodies. I don't have to leave the house until New Years! :lmao:

It started to rain, so now we're back home and cozied down. Hope everyone has a great rest of their day!

What sauce? We don't get no sauce!

It was good. Spent the rest of it making my DN's clean their family room and then I took them to a frozen yogurt place. Had Cheesecake yogurt with cheesecake pieces, fresh pineapple and strawberries, and Nutella sauce.

No sauce?

It's a mixture of bbq sauce and mayo, I think? It's fry sauce. Sooooo good.

My brother is a bartender. He makes us yummy drinks with a large discount. :rolleyes1

Hmmm, I will have to ask about that next time I go. And lucky you!

This reminds me, I have to complain to someone. I just signed up for their royalty card, have to have it to get the birthday burger. I also got a free appetizer for signing up. Well apparently you can only use one or the other, not both. So I said we would use the burger one. When the bill came, the computer automatically takes off the appetizer. At first the manager said there was nothing she could do but then she took off the burger too. :sad2:

Well dinner tonight ended up being fish, asparagus and boiled potatoes. I think my mother finally clued in that I usually have fish on Mondays.

Finshed putting the lights up in the yard.:woohoo: We had almost everything out there except one string around the yard, ones in the big pine tree in the side yard and the candy cane lights. We couldn't find the light stick so the lights in the tree are in an interesting loopy pattern. :upsidedow

And before I left work today I managed to get to the post office to mail a package and got most of my cards out. :cool1: There are still a few left but that's because I forgot my stamps at home and didn't want to buy two packs when I only needed one.

The line at the post office was CRAZY! It is in an office building and the line was out the door and around the corner into the lobby of the building. Thankfully tonight they had two people working. Last week everytime I went in there, we have a PO box that is checked every day, there was one person working and a long line although not as bad as today.

Tonight we're eating up the leftovers from the past couple of nights and I'm not cooking again for a whole week! maybe even another day plus! Tomorrow we leave for Vegas. We're not sure if we're going the whole way there or just to Stateline tomorrow. We'll decide when we get on the road and see how late it is.

I'm pulling a Brandi and packing tonight! :lmao:

We have three ADRs and two places we plan on walking up, but the rest will be by the seat of our pants! I'm so glad to be getting out of the house. I've got a wad of cash in my purse and no going to the ATM once we leave, so that's the money we'll have to make it last. Maybe we might even come home with some in our pockets!

Congrats on surviving the PO! :lmao:

Ahhh, fry sauce! A Utah staple! Some places here do the bbq/mayo mix, but REAL fry sauce is a bit different. You all are going to have to come to Utah and try the real stuff! It's awesome!

Alison - Have a great trip! Enjoy yourselves, and I hope you come home with money in your pocket!

Jen - Wow! I'm jealous of your shopping. I still have to do the major grocery shopping for the holiday. I'm hoping to get that done tomorrow.

Just found out that I get to go to the dentist tomorrow morning. Just a cleaning and they are taking care of 1 filling while I'm there. The gal mentioned that her chart said I needed teeth pulled, and did I want to get that done tomorrow, too? I panicked! When she mentioned they were wisdom teeth, I relaxed a bit. I reminded her that I'm working with an oral surgeon for that procedure, so please take it off my chart! Wish me luck tomorrow, though. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to mouth issues!

Dinner tonight was homemade fish sandwiches. Not the best meal, but fast and easy. I'm thinking pork chops for tomorrow, if I find a decent price at the store.

OK, I'm packed, got all my shirts, pants, sock and unmentionables...oh yeah, need another pair of shoes or two!

Now we just need to work on someone else! :rolleyes1

It's 5 a.m. during my vacation and we're up. Who knows why? :confused3

I'm not awake enough to comment much. But, I do know we're having smothered pork chops for dinner. :goodvibes

Good morning! Be back later!

Today I am going to get my hair done. It's WAAAY past time, but my hairdresser has been on maternity leave and is coming back to work to do "Christmas hair." Smart girl :) Anyway, I am leaving looking a little different today. I currently have a brownish-red color with with warm dark brown halo highlights. I have noticed that the highlight color really helps with my roots growing out, so I am ditching the highlights and having my entire hair done in that color. I am also (hopefully) getting a new do. I have been growing my hair out for a few months to get it cut like this: Lucy Hale's do

Kinda sorta. My hair is long and pretty much all one length now. This is kind of how I look now:

So we'll see how it turns out ;)

I am making us paninis tonight for dinner. Quick and easy!

I like that. It think it will look great.

Mine is long and almost like that with the razord edges. And it is dark red. I know most of the photos show it just brown but I like the auburn. It hides most of my roots too

But mine are starting to turn gray. :sad2:

I am standing here on the train into work and it feels so good to know that I will not be back until after Christmas.
