The What's For Dinner Thread - November '09(recipe index in OP)

Wendie - Glad to hear your back is a bit better. Funny about the undercover sting, I work with DEA agents and they're all teasing me about that!;)

Nan - Thanks for telling me that Buddy didn't have to record his day. The cardio tech that wired me up just kept saying "Go about your normal daily routine".

Robin - Welcome back! Glad to hear y'all had a great time.

Aimee - Glad to hear DH's first day went well!

Sheryl - I'll be praying all goes well with your neuro.

Girls I just heard from Maria - here is what she said -

"They cut more ligaments, did another root canal and the new x ray showed 3pockets of infection. When all was said and done I had to call Greg to come to the office and they removed the tooth. They were able to save the bone so I can get an implant in 3 months. My stitches will dissolve and you can't see the extraction when I smile PTL."

She sends much love to you all and says thanks for thinking of her.

Prayers are with you Maria!!

Ellen- thank you for letting us know MAria is alright. Holy SMokes! What a procedure!

Ellen, thank you for the update.

Maria, please rest my friend...what a dreadful procedure.

Sheryl, good luck with the neuro.

Robin, we missed you. Welcome back.

-----------

DD got her H1N1 shot today. So no the whole family has been immunized.
She and DH are napping. I am entertaining the little guy.

Not sure what's for dinner tonight, ate a late lunch today and am really not hungry. I do have to make some jalepeno poppers before my jalepeno's go bad though so I may have them for a late snack. Luckily I have cream cheese for them. Went to get some out of the fridge for my breakfast today and found my DM had eaten almost the entire package I bought for them last week. :headache: I did have another package I forgot I had.

Ellen has convinced me that even if my EKG and monitor results are good I'm going to ask to be referred to a cardiologist. I'm having on average 20 palpitations daily, something is causing this.:sad1:

Don't be afraid. You are on the right path, the Dr can figure out what teh problem is and then correct it.

DInner was delicious! iT WAS ugadogs black bean and chicken nacho dish. I changed it a bit and served it over WW elbows with a salad. I also skipped the cream cheese because I had no FF.

Ellen, :thumbsup2 so happy to hear

WFD- Rainforest cafe (blackened fish tacos)

Got to get these kids to bed now

A very quick check in so that y'all don't worry. Yesterday I was just busy & today is the same. I have an appt. with the neuro. dr. , find out what the MRI on my low back looked like & I will talk to him about my knee. My therapist said it's sounds like the miniscus is worn & I'll need to see an ortho. :sad2:

Was your appt today? How did it go? I'm glad you're getting it seen.

Oh Maria!! I am so sorry  It sounds absolutely awful but I sure hope it brings you relief.

:thumbsup2 Ellen! I'm glad you're taking initiative to find out what is wrong even if this doc thinks it's okay.

Tonight I made the MahiMahi BLT out of Cooking Light - I used Orange Roughy since my store didn't have any MahiMahi. It was VERY quick and tasty. Nothing major - just seasoned the fish with chile powder, salt and EVOO and broiled it for 4 min on each side. Flaked into large pieces and put into tortillas with shredded lettuce, crumbled bacon, salsa, and cheese. I had it all done in 15 minutes - that's my kind of meal!

Good Morning. Quick fly by...

Yay Jay is coming home!

Kat, Palpitations can also be caused by thyroid issues...I have them at times but yes, see a cardiologist. You will be fine my dear.

Maria, Wendie, Sheryl and anyone else not feeling well, hope today is better.

I will BBL...I have to get the house in order. I have friends coming for lunch. I made Cheeseburger pie so if there are left overs, that is what will be for dinner.

Have a great day.

Quick check in....I'm heading back to lay down for a bit, back is better, but not 100% yet. This is driving me crazy, I called my Dr and she said it could take a few more days, to do my stretches and take my meds for it. (I don't take pills well so this is the hardest part for me..I can't even finish a round of antibiotics)

Maria--OUCH!! I hope you have some relief from the pain soon!

Ellen--I am overjoyed on the news about Jay!!! PTL

Robin--Glad you had a nice trip!!

SHeryl--How did your appt go?

I will be back later to check in on "ya'll"......

Supper will be the chicken I didn't cook last night with a big salad.
We ended up having soup as Ross' mouth was very sore from the orthodontist, they did some major wiring and reworking on his upper braces, poor kid still has that darn palate expander(it drives him nuts) and still no lower braces...this will be a long process, we aren't even a year in to a three year time frame. We can see progress though so that is nice.
I am getting chatty so that means my meds are kicking in...I will stop now, lol.

Have a great day!!

Snow flurries here...up with the baby having my :surfweb: and reading.
DH an my little man are snuggling snoring away in our bed. So cute, it rarely happens. DH never sleeps this late.

WFD- probably pasta or swiss steak with egg noodles. I am trying to get by with small shopping I did this week.

Kathy, could you share your pepper jelly vinaigrette recipe? I have a jar of pepper jelly that a friend of mine from New Orleans sent me, and I have had no idea what to do with it! Your tuna looked yummy.

Maria, I hope you are not in too much pain today.

Here's a photo of last night's eggs florentine:

WFD: chicken-vegetable stir fry and brown rice.

Sheryl -- How did your appointment go? Is Miss A back to normal now? Hopefully, your knee does not require surgery.

Maria -- How awful! I hope the procedure relieved the pain you have been in.

Ellen -- That is wonderful news!! I'm so happy for you and your family.

Kathy -- I'm glad you are going to get that referral. Will you find out the results from the monitor today?

Wendie -- Take it easy. That is really the only way to get rid of back pain. I am glad it is improving.

Aimee -- I'm glad your DH's first day went well.

Lauren -- Have fun at lunch today. What is cheeseburger pie? I hope everything is going well with the move and home sale.

Has anyone heard from Gretchen lately? I know this is a busy time of year for her.

Today is an early release for the kids, so I need to get moving along here. As usual, it is a miserable day. I don't think they've been able to play outside for at least the past three early days.

Dinner will be breakfast for the kids and I am going to put that eggplant parmesan that I didn't make last week in for me. Have a good day!
