The What's For Dinner Thread - May '09(recipe index in OP)

No more liquor talk...it is not fair!!! I could use a stiff drink right about now.

Don't mind me lurking ;)

WOW.....its bevvy central round here tonight !!

Im thinkin its just as well im teetotal....gonnae have a lot of leathered lassies to look after in October !! :rolleyes1

Marisa, You are too nice! :goodvibes I would think that putting them in the mail, would be easiest for you!

Glynis, I feel so bad for Jacob & for Mom! Can you call your dr.? Maybe he could give him phenergan suppositories to stop the vomiting. The last thing y'all need his having to head to the hospital with a dehydrated child!

We are in luck! Jacob stopped vomiting about 5 hours ago, and his fever is gone! He's kept down chicken broth and saltines, so keep your fingers crossed. His next dose of tamiflu is in an hour, so we'll see what happens once it's in him!

I'll keep my fingers crossed. How's Timothy?

Sendin good vibes ower the water.

Ann -- The good thing is, you'll be able to get an epidural as soon as you walk in the door being that dilated. :thumbsup2 I do not think you are going to make it to the 30th. I think tomorrow is the day.

Alexis' music recital Saturday night was good (and short) which was nice. She did fine & just loves being up on stage!

This is not surprising! I am glad she did well, and I'm glad the dance costumes were appropriate. Congratulations to Angelina, as well!

My sister was "cooked" for almost 11 months! When my mom had gone well into her 10th month of pregnancy, the doctor decided to induce, stating that no woman should have to be pregnant for 11 months!
 That is scary! I hope Jacob is feeling better.

Kathy -- Poor Johnny and poor you! I am surprised you lasted as long as you did without a drink!

Lauren, he is so precious! I love that smile.

It's really not THAT cold...we are up in the 70s this week! Now that it's the LAST WEEK OF JUNE! :cool2:

Gee whiz...is EVERYBODY drinking on this thread tonight? :lmao:

It's 58 here right now...and raining. I checked the 10 day forecast, and it is sunny Thursday, rainy the rest of the days. I am wearing a wool sweater, but I refuse to turn the heat on again.

Count me among the drinking tonight...I should probably have more to deal with kids who are home who can't play outside. :headache:

I did end up getting pizza tonight. Liam's game tomorrow night has been postponed because tonight's games were postponed until tomorrow. It is supposed to rain all day again tomorrow, so who knows when the game will get played. I'll keep you posted.

Someday when the boy is a wee bit bigger I hope we will get.

So many lovely cities to see, NYC is just one of them I think. I would love to visit Edinburgh but I doubt I'll ever get over that side of the pond.

Just checkin ma Homer.....

Love it!

Hi, I am here.

Not feeling great after my exam, crampy.

Yup, Laura is right....tonight or tomorrow! Get some rest!

The Bridal Tea Saturday afternoon was very very nice.

Alexis' music recital Saturday night was good (and short) which was nice. She did fine & just loves being up on stage!

The dancing recital was last night & she did very well with that also.

It sounds like a wonderful weekend! I saw Alexis and her belly dance on FB...she is so cut, her recital could not be anything other than :cloud9:

Hi, everyone! Things are almost back to normal here in Quarantine-land! Jacob is still sick. No fever, but he's been throwing up almost non-stop this morning.

That poor kid! Glad that Timmy is not affected, and I do hope that you all are well soon!

SSShhhhhh:ssst:......Nan might find out I had something to do with Buddy hurting his back.....:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

:lmao::lmao:

Johnny just came in from the Dr. he's not going back to work until Thursday.......:scared:

Oh No! No wonder you are indulging, it is self defense!;)

I really have to get on the ball & find something to fix for dinner. I skyped DH & asked what he felt like eating the answer was "potato chips & long island tea"!! Must be another rough day!

I forgot to mention that DD-Angelina has picked up a small freelance PR job! It's not anything permanent but it's a start!

Hey Sheryl! I have Skype too!

You never know where these jobs lead, Marisa started as a temp.
I really feel badly for Bob, he is in a rough place trying to keep men working. My DH works for a company that has turned down work all winter and still has two guys not called back and they don't care. Bob cares so his stress level must me....well chips and LI tea sounds like a plan

It's 5:00! Well 5:05 to be precise!

I'm having another twist on that redneck sangria. Cheap riesling with peach fresca!

YUMMMMM!

I'm freezing Bethany! It is raw and clammy here YUCH!

Im thinkin its just as well im teetotal....gonnae have a lot of leathered lassies to look after in October !! :rolleyes1

leathered lassies :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Timothy is great! I think he's going to come through this unscathed! Lucky baby!

Thank goodness!

Lauren- I commented on FB, but I have to tell you that smile is such a treat!

Dinner changed due to I hate the weather. I roasted a couple of chickens with potato wedges and carrots. Green beans and salad along the side. I love roasted veggies and these were good. No gravy for Buddy tonight :sad2:. I deglazed the pan and saved the drippings for tomorrow night. I have one chicken we did nto touch so I'll fix that and gravy with mashed potatoes tomorrow night.

I'm not freezing! It must be a bit warmer over here. The inside of the school was pushing 90 today, and it's a stagnant, humid air. :headache: I have an a/c in my classroom but I turned it off for part of the afternoon because I had the kids watch a movie and the a/c was so noisy they couldn't hear it.

I had one kid put a little pencil sharpener (non-electric; the twist-the-pencil kind) on top of his head. I asked him why. He said because he was hot. Who knew putting a pencil sharpener on your head will cool you off. :confused3 I will have to try that next week. :rotfl:

Ann, I think your Emma is going to be here VERY SOON!

DH was lookin at me funny tonight because i was sitting with the TV remote stuck to my fore head.

Why ?

Because I was hot....dont judge us Bethany !!

You two are killing me! :lmao::lmao:

So a few weeks ago I was sleeping with an ice pack on my forehead. I've got news for you....that really DOES help cool you off! :lmao:

And before you question WHY I was doing that when it has been in the 50s at night...I had a migraine. So there. :snooty:
