The What's for Dinner Thread - August 2014 (recipe index in OP)

Morning girlies,

PIO ~ I really got to sit down and look at your lovely pictures of your kitty run. That is amazing. What a lucky kitty!! I bet she loves it!

Kimmar ~ Thanks! I am just proud that I was able to do it.

Alison ~ Ok sorry I jumped the gun, but now I can ask - What did you have for dinner? I can't wait to hear what Marcel cooked for you? Were you good and told him of your diet restrictions?

We have a funeral here this morning. :sad1: So I am busy! We have a jam packed weekend with the grands. Ethan has basketball games on Saturday and Sunday and we are babysitting the girls and Liam on Saturday.

WFDT ~ French bread pizzas and a green salad.

Make it a great day!

....we got back later than expected, so we stopped off at Boston Market....got the family meal for 5, which included 1-1/2 chickens, overloaded mashed potatoes, veggie medley, corn, mac'n'cheese, and cornbread....

Sounds like a great meal!

Condolences. :flower3:

Enjoy the weekend.

It's a hot and somewhat humid day today. At least humid by Melbourne standards (but not by Florida standards). It's just about noon here and we've already gone shopping at the Vic Market, breakfast with friends, dropped off clothes at the school uniform 2nd hand shop, cleaning the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry. Just the vacuuming and mopping to do....but those are DH's chores.

So that means I've pretty much gotten most of my chores done except for unpacking the market shopping. I think I'll check on a few more threads and then go get that done as well so that I have the rest of the afternoon off for good behaviour!

Have a great weekend all.

WFDT?

I bought some scallops from the market. They looked really great. I might stir fry them with the broccoli I got from the market; or go look up a new recipe to try.

Alison - Brown stuff on the outside of the strawberry? I am SURE I have no idea what that could be either. But what a good thing you did by eating it with the strawb. I'm salivating at the thought of what Marcel could have fed you.

Yeah, well Marcel wasn't there, again. But his henchman JC took pretty good care of us. I'll have a full report on my TR, but I think I need to find out if Marcel will be there on my B'day. If not, I need to give a little more guidance for the menu as it was nice but not quite as inspired as a menu a'la Marcel.

I love Boston Market, unfortunately we don't have many of those out here anymore. I used to love the flavor of their roasted chicken and everything else. Most of the location near us closed. Major bummer.

....hey, I'll mail you some.......NOT.

:lmao: :rotfl:

...Boston chicken.....silly. ;)

The way these new boards work, when you quote a post, unless you just quote the part you're responding to, it truncated the view. I though you were offering to send me "guidance" for the chef for my birthday party! :lmao:

WFTD? Picked up a couple small turkey breasts and all the fixings. With the MOUNDS of snow we have outside and it already started snowing again, I am in the mood to good up a big ole dinner. Might even whip up a chocolate cake too.

***Can someone point me in the right direction of where to find the smilies?

Welcome back maslex! The smilies are on the bar at the top of the reply box. Look for the smiley face in the bar. When you click on that the whole menu will appear. There are different tabs and they have added a bunch of new smilies.

morning everyone...

David and I are finally getting into the planning for the Grand Canyon trip...

Lots to do, and we are a little bit behind but it will all be ok.

We leave on Wednesday and will be gone for two weeks, so I will have to catch up on the return.

p.s. - that was 49,000

Have a great time Brandi! Enjoy getting out of the cold for a while!

WFD? We are having a lemon chicken picata that I saw on the Chew last week. It has a Quinoa side salad that goes along with it and I'm making pancetta wrapped asparagus as our veggie.
