The Week Before TSL Opens

What do you think HS will be like, as far as crowds, the week before TSL opens, June 23-29? I know that AP/DVC previews are not yet announced and don’t apply to our group along with the media day and official opening.

We have not made our decision yet regarding being in the crowds for the first few days the land is open but I am wondering what the lead up will be like.

Predictions? Recommendations? Advice?

Anyone have info to share about what AK was like during the time spanning the opening of that land?

Disney begins blocking out all CMs from DHS on June 25th. A CM can’t enter the park as a guest using their ID nor can they admit any of their friends using Guest Passes.

So, DHS is expecting high crowd levels from June 25th onward. And, FPs for TSM had been successfully booked for June 25th. Those FPs for TSM were live in the system for CL Extra FP guests until they were again restricted from being booked.

Disney begins blocking out all CMs from DHS on June 25th. A CM can’t enter the park as a guest using their ID nor can they admit any of their friends using Guest Passes.

Do the participants of the media day and official opening usually stay in the “new” area or will they be all over the park?

Unlike it's previous slogan "Natazu", AK was a zoo preceding Pandora's opening. I don't expect the TSL pre-opening period to be quite as bad, but it will be very, very busy.

That's fine, whenever any park is blocked out, I don't want to be there as a guest anyway, but I will be there a lot none the less.

That’s what the general feeling is. Disney must have things scheduled to “know” they need to blockout CMs.

The new entrance to TSM has to begin being utilized sometime before June 30th and with the system allowing FPs for the 25th, that didn’t disappear from the guests’ MDX account, TSM is involved in some way.

Our DHS day is June 26th. I guess I should be prepared for heavy crowds.

My day is the 26th also - already have reservations at Sci Fi and Star Wars Dessert Party so I don't want to change the date, but Touring Plans is rating it a 6 day so I hope that still holds true. If all else fails will only ride what we have fast passes for and go back to resort and swim, until the evening.
