The week before or the week after Thanksgiving week?

It's all weeks this, weeks that at the moment... Sorry to have to post a crowds question but I don't want to risk it seeing as I'm coming over from the UK.

What do you Disney pros think?

:worship:

I'm not a pro by any means but after much research have decided to do the week after Thanksgiving. My biggest requirement for this trip was to try and get lower crowds and I ended up with the dates of Nov30-Dec5. I realize Nov 30 might still be busy but the rest of those days are traditionaly one of the slowest times of the year. Or at least that is my understanding.

Hey I don't suppose if you pick the same week we are going you'd like to smuggle in some Flakes for me?? ;) :rotfl2:

Definitely the week after.

I usually go during that week, in order to see the holiday decorations, parade and fireworks without having to deal with massive crowds.

UH-OH... just found out we can only do the week before, still it's got to be a little quieter than normal?
(everything crossed)

p.s. what are flakes?!

If you mean the week of November 17th, it should be fine. The week of Thanksgiving, however, will likely be very crowded.

You can always get a idea of the crowd level that DLR is expecting by looking at their monthly calendar.

For Monday through Thursday of the week before, the park hours are 10:00 - 8:00PM, which indicates they are expecting lower level crowds. By contrast, the week of Thanksgiving shows park hours of 8:00AM - Midnight for the entire week. :crowded:

Thanks for that, I'll sleep a little easier tonight, I wouldn't mind the crowds too much if we were there for longer but it looks like we're only gonna get 2 days

ahhh well, 2 days is better than none!

We are going Nov 18th-22, and did the same thing 2 years ago. The crowds were fine during the week - we hardly had to wait at all. Friday is the first official day of the holiday celebration, and they will have the parade, Fantasmic etc - it will be much more crowded that day I am sure. You should still have fun!!!

I'm sorry I never answered your question about the Flakes. Life has gotten in the way of my Dis boards time. :thumbsup2 I was talking about Cadbury Flakes, the chocolate that is layered on top of each other and 'flakes' when you bite into it. I just thought coming from the UK you would know what they were. :) I lived in Lakenheath then Lowestoft for a time and love the Flakes and Wispas.

If you can pick either, pick the week AFTER. We've been here since Saturday and it's crooooooooowded! It's not bad until 10 or 11 and then the lines are long all over. Saturday night we tried to eat in NO Square almost 2 hours before fantasmic and it was wall to wall people. We have yet to see the fireworks (we're on East Coast time and the time change has killed our kids in the early evening) but we're going to try it tonight- wish us luck!!
