The Week before Easter...

how bad is it? From experiences of people who have been there. My DH is a teacher and college professor. We can only go when both schools days off match up, end of July, spring break and the week after Christmas. My DH is set on going over spring break this year which is the week before Easter. We have only been to DL and WDW during the end of July. So we are used to crowds. Just wondering how that compares to spring break.

In 2016, Easter Sunday will be on March 27th. The AP Blockout period spans the week before and week after Easter (March 19 through April 2/3), which means DLR expects to have peak Spring Break crowds the week before and after Easter in 2016. My sense is that the crowds will be high, but still manageable.

"Spring Break" tends to be more of a "season" at DLR because there is a wide range of time frames when school districts are on break. A lot of schools take the week before and after Easter as Spring Break, but some schools have their break considerably earlier or later. I have not actively been looking at the 2016 school calendars yet, but if you want to get a sense of how things were this year (2015), in terms of the school breaks, check out the 2015 Calendar thread.

with Easter being on March 27, 2016 and the earliest was 2008 on the 23rd and latest April 23 2000, there is a wide range of experiences. I can tell you from Chambers Bay, that Pacific northwest will be in full spring break on march 27, 2016

Generally speaking, no matter when Easter falls, the two weeks before and after are pretty crowded. However, as stated above, your trip can still be fine if you are prepared.

I know my school district has spring break the week before Easter. I'm in Elk Grove Unified and its one of the larger districts in Ca.

Spring break is the only time we've ever been that they've closed the parks. July is pretty crowded, though, so maybe it won't be much worse than you're used to. No way for him to take a couple days off?
