The wee man came too Trip Report - Last Day

Day 4 – Last Day
Up early again and finished packing – got the kids up and ready and we headed off for breakfast leaving our bags in the luggage room before we got our food. This time we were seated at one of the stone wall bits of the restaurant and the kids spent their time trying to climb it so breakfast was over fairly quickly – we managed a quick meet and greet with WTP on the way to get the bus to the park.

We did our normal EMH rides and also managed to get Adam to go on Buzz twice and to sit on a horse on the Carousel. I had made contact with Mum and brother and they were just about to go on Buzz so i said we would head that way and meet them – we stopped at the sword and tried to pull it out and then went on through the castle – I was so busy looking at the people queuing for rope drop at Adventureland that I forgot that there was rope drop at the front of the castle as well and the next minute we were stampeded by people heading through the castle – I had to hurriedly gather the children and stand into one side to let them all past.

We all met up and thought about going on Autopia but the queue was too big (even before it opened) so we gave it a miss and started to stroll back to Main Street Station as mum wanted to go on the train. We stopped outside the Cable Car Bakeshop and got Mickey Brioche and Coffee in the souvenir mug – this was €6 which we felt was good value. Heading on up Main Street we managed to catch the Good Morning Parade

This was something we have never seen before and after it went past we headed to the Emporium to get Anna the two Minnies she wanted (Cinderella and Belle reduced from €25 to €15 each so I said she could have both) I also picked up a photo album and some bits and pieces. We queued for the train for about half and hour and then did the full circuit,

we came of this and watched a bit of Mary Poppins again before heading for our 12.30 reservation for The Steakhouse Brunch – again this was fantastic with lots of interaction from characters – Daisy and Donald, Prince John and Mr Smee.

The girls got stuck into the chocolate fountain and got chocolate everywhere!

We rolled out of here and wanted to go for a lie down so we just sat about the village for a while watching the world go by before heading back into the park.

Mum had spied The Storybook boats and Casey Junior while we were on the train so wanted to go there but once we got as far as Belle Notte Adam was flagging and I knew if I sat down with him he would go to sleep – I staked my spot for the parade and sat down with him and my brother while mum took the girls off to the Storybook boats, they didn’t manage to get on Casey Junior but were back with us just as the parade started. Adam was asleep by this stage on my legs again and slept through the whole parade! They weren’t keen to see the soliders in the parade again and one of the dancers from the villains float let out a whistle at one of the boys standing beside us.

The parade was as good as ever and after it finished we lifted Adam to one of the summer seats on the other side of the street.

We sat in the sun before it was time for our last walk down main street

– as we came out of the park Anna started to cry and said she didn’t want to go home – I just had to give her a cuddle and say we hoped to be back some time. We went to McDonalds and got meals for the kids and then walked round the lake and sat on the grass to eat it. We ended up walking round past Newport Bay and then back to collect our luggage at Sequoia Lodge,

when we got there John from EzyShuttle was waiting so we got loaded up and headed off to the airport. The motorway was blocked due to a couple of accidents but he took us on a different route (I think we ended up driving right round Disney) and managed to get to the airport only 10 minutes later than planned. I had to sort out our baggage before we checked in and had to stick a pin in Lucy’s Minnie balloon. We said our goodbyes to my mum and brother and they headed off to get the train to Paris as they were staying on a few more days for brothers 21st and I went to check in with the kids, we actually didn’t have too long a wait once we checked in, took them to the loo and then went into departures and our flight actually took off 20 mins early. The kids sat on one row and I sat in the end seat on the opposite row

Lucy fell asleep about 10 mins into the flight and Adam stayed awake for about an hour before falling asleep. I managed to get them all of the plane and we were quickly through passport control our bag was already going round on carousel and we grabbed it and texted DH – we only had to wait a minute for him to pick us up and then it was home and to bed after another fantastic trip.

what a wonderful trip. i always hate the last day of a tr. its so sad when you have to go home lol. glad you had a good time. you have some lovely pics.

What a shame about the balloon Great report though - love your photos! I think you are very brave taking 3 small people on a plane on your own - you deserve a medal!! (Anything for a trip to DLRP eh?!!)

I'm hoping the next time we go the balloon will be working, as when we were there last week, it wasn't on at all and I really want to go up
