Ok - so I booked breakfast at the Wave so I can get dropped at the CR instead of having to deal with the TTC. My ressie is 7:40 and I notoriously run late. Where in the resort is the Wave? Also, to get a time that early I had to say 2 people instead of 1 - will I have trouble with that on check in?

I have spent little time at the resort - I can find the monorail platform and Chef Mickeys - LOL

No problem turning up with one, and The Wave is located on the ground floor at the back left of the resort. Get dropped off where the valet parking/bell service guys hang out at the front door and walk straight in keeping left. Walk right past the check in desks and there's a tunnel down to The Wave podium.

The Wave is on the first floor. The same floor as the concierge. When you get dropped off at the front of the building, it will be off to the left, in the far back corner. I've never had trouble when I had a reservation for 2 and only one person (me) showed up. Sometimes we have unexpected solo visits.... 😜

Just walk into the lobby. You'll pass the front desk check in on the left and then The Wave is down farther on the left.
Pretty hard to miss.
It will not be a problem to have less people than is on the reservation as long as you show up.

If you run too late, you may be denied your ADR or you might be seated even later than you arrival.

Kind of off topic, but I too booked a 7:45 dinning res at the Wave. How long does a meal there usually take? Hoping to walk to MK and make it in early by 8:30 for 9:00 am opening.

The walk from the Contemporary to MK is about 10 minutes. So you’ll want to be leaving the wave by 8:20, which gives you 35 minutes if you get seated at 7:45. In theory this is possible, I’d make sure everyone in your party has looked at the menu ahead of time and order your food right away. I recommend arriving early in hopes to get seated a little bit before 7:45 just so you have a little more time.

The last time I ate at The Wave (October) the service was SO SLOW (granted, we were a group of 6). We had to eventually ask the manager for the checks). Because the Wave used to be a buffet in the mornings as one of the main options, it seemed like they were staffed for that rather than being staffed for needing to full service all the tables. Hopefully that has changed since October!

With a reservation at 7:40, I would shoot to arrive at the Contemporary by 7:20 and check in to be one of the first when it opens at 7:30. (I find that a lot of the restaurants in resorts don't take reservations their first 10 to 15 minutes they are open). AND as previous posters said, be ready to order when you sit down.

As to needing to make reservations for 2 but only being one - that should be fine. I travel solo a lot and it's challenging to find reservations for 1 since they seem to like even numbers
