I was wondering what people thought of the Wave. I have an ADR for 9/24 for dinner and was looking forward to it. Friends just got back and said it wasn't very good. They said the service was bad (waitress kept stressing about the tip not included) and the portions were so small that they left still hungry. So I was wondering what other people thought of their dinners.

I didn't think the food was bad, but it wasn't fantastic either. I do agree that the service was terrible. Our waitress seemed to forget we existed for most of our meal. We almost had to tackle her to get her attention for anything. I probably won't go back.

This is so sad to hear! We go here for breakfast at least once per vacation, and the service and food are always great. I hope your friend just hit it there on an off night. Any good reviews out there????

We enjoyed it on our last trip in June (ate there for dinner). Food was very good, and service was great. We were there mid-June and went with no ADR's - the place wasn't even 1/3 full at 6:00.

I'm hoping to eat lunch here so hopefully there are some better reviews. I know I've seen some good things in the dining reports, so that gives me hope.

I'm having this same dilema, we have a ADR for dinner at The Wave our first night, but I was able to get a late lunch at CP.......We have CP scheduled for breakfast another morning so I don't know if I should just cancel The Wave and go to CP for lunch or CP for breakfast??? Thoughts!!!

We ate here -- had an early dinner reservation. It was basically when they opened. Food was good. Portions were smaller than Disney glut portions but it was filling. We were on DDP and so had app, entree and dessert. I didn't feel bloated when we left but full/not hungry. Food was pretty good. It is more contemporary feel than mouse/disney feel, sort of cool NYC-ish. Service was fine -- it was full when we left but we were happy. We'd eat there again.

Just got back and ate here our last night...glad we saved the best for last. My filet was the best I've ever had! Our server was one of the best of the week, perky and friendly without being obnoxious. I also loved the dessert trios as they let you sample without stuffing yourself. I have a big appetite and I have to admit, this was one of the few meals I finished, but I think it was because it was so darn good.
I'm not sure how their other meals are as all 3 adults had the filet, but I definitely recommend it!:lovestruc

I enjoyed my filet last year also. The service was fast as there were few diners there.

I would go back. We are trying out new restaurants this year, only a few repeats from last year. There just aren't enough DP credits that we could go to The Wave this year, maybe next year.

I have to say that The Wave became my second favorite WDW restaurant after Boma. I am a health conscious eater and there are a lot of very good healthy choices there. It isn't overly themed but then again I don't have to be in an overly themed restaurant every day at Disney. I had a black bean soup and the catch of the day, which was tuna steak on the day I was there. I think that The Wave is the best TS restaurant now on the monorail, especially for dinner.

We have been there twice, once in March and once in August, and the food and service is outstanding! More like a signature restaurant to us....we enjoyed every single thing we ate and would not hesitate to go back there for dinner!

We had a great meal there and the service was great. Would definately go back again.

We had a nice meal...the service was okayish....as you said the server I think Donna did state a couple of times that the service was not included....

We had a great meal and good service there last year (our review with pics is in the link below). I am looking forward to going back this trip ... it is one of the few repeat restaurants we will be going to as I want to try mostly new ones next trip!

We were there 2 weeks ago and I was very disaapointed. While waiting in the seating area near the podium we were asked if we wanted drinks. The 4 adults ordered alcoholic beverages and the kids got shirley temples. We were on the dining plan so we would be paying OOP for the adult drinks anyway but we when we aked if we were able to use our meal plan drinks for the kids drinks she said no that she couldn't transfer the bill for the drinks to the table. So no biggie we wait about 15 minutes for our table and... our drinks don't come. Now we are seated at our table in the dining room and they bring us our drinks and a big fat bill. So the kids never need to order drinks because we paid for their Shirley Temples, that part of their dining credit goes unused. Our waitress at the table was pretty good. A bit too "social" but fairly attentive.

Everyone except me was happy with their meals. Most had the filet, I think someone had the pork. I had the chicken pot pie which was terrible. 1st of all it wasn't a pie at all. It was mushy veggies in a very salty brown sauce with a piece of partially deboned chicken (with the skin on) on top of it and a piece of very bad puff pastry laying over that. Maybe it was supposed to be fancy but it was bad and not what I expected. Desserts were underwhelming, I like the idea of the dessert trio but nothing in the 2 trios we had (sorbet and crunchy) was very good. Others at our table had the chocolate trio or something like that and liked it.

Everyone but me got regular coffee, it was pretty good from what I hear. I got the press pot. I waited an extra long time for it and it was cold. I flagged the waitress down and she apoligized and brought it to me again. That was also cold. She said she wasn't sure why but that the hot water just wasn't very hot. So I gave up and didn't have coffee. I will not be back.:scared1: On a brighter note we ate 6 other table service meals (Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon, Tusker House, 50's Prime Time, Epcot Princess BF) and I liked every one of them. I dropped Kona (one of my all time favorites) to try the WAVE and I so wish I hadn't.

I've been there once before, and will be eating there again next month. The food is good and there are many interesting choices on the menu.

We ate here just last week and the food was great! The filet mignon was one of the best i've ever had, and they do the desserts in trios which is fun. I definitely think your friend either hit the restaurant on an off night or let the fact that her waitress stunk effect her thoughts on the food.
