What are your thoughts on this restaurant? It's one of the few we've never been to.
Whaddya think?

We love, love, love the Wave. We have eaten all three meals there, and have had drinks at the bar. Love it all. Fabulous food, fabulous service. My BF is a crab cake nut and he likes the Wave's the best. I love the watermelon, feta and balsamic salad, among other items. There have been a few evenings when the specials have not blown my dress up, and in that case, the steak and the pork are consistently yummy, so no worries. Lest I sound like the Wave's personal cheerleader, the menu is a tad smaller than many other Disney restaurants, and the windowless atmosphere is not for everyone. Service is consistently good over multiple meals every trip. One breakfast when they had several people call in sick, the manager came and told us about the problem, explained about the delay, but kept the coffee and complimentary pastries coming, which was great. Stuff happens, but tell me what is happening and keep my coffee warm, which is exactly what they did! I hope you enjoy!

The food was very good. The food is modern and has some healthy choices, which I really like (Food that is healthy and tastes good!)

The staff was also very nice.

The decor is also pretty: tables, lighting, decor.

The one concern I've always felt about that particular spot is that it's not a great space for a restaurant. (Even before it was the Wave) It's hard to define what makes it slightly less appealing. It's off to the far end of the check-in ofr starters, and there are no windows. Whereas the atrium of CR is open and spacious, and Cali Grill is surrounded by picture windows, The Wave's spot has always seemed closed and tight with no natural light. I know, a minor criticism to be certain - it's just that the other dining choices at CR, and even most of the monorail restaurants have lots of windows that overlook the lake (technically, if you are in Chef Mickey's or the CR QS, then you won't be next to a window, but you are inthe huge atrium where you can look up and see the windows and the monorail going by.) But that's the only thing I didn't like about The Wave.

Hi Marcy in FL,
I love it. :lovestruc Ate there earlier this year and it is one of my top places to eat at DW. I would highly suggest trying it if you have never been. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We added this to our ADR's last trip in May, and I really didnt have any expectation... but truthfully? It was FABULOUS! The food was great, the deserts were even better....and the service was excellent. It was a definite surprise!

Thank you! I love getting the rave reviews all around! I'll be booking this one for sure! :)

DH and I ate there this trip and have nothing negative to say about it. The food and service were great.

We also really enjoyed the atmosphere, but it was our only meal without the kids and grandparents during a 10 night trip. I would probably agree with mickeyluv'r about the view if we had the kids along, but for the two of us it was perfect.

I had a great meal there and it immediately became my second favorite WDW restaurant (after Boma). I have heard rumors that it went downhill but I still plan on eating there next trip.

I had the black bean soup and the catch of the day which was a seared tuna steak the time I went.

We ate there less than a week ago right before MNSSHP. We both had the sustainable fish which was a snapper and was accompanied by a trio of fresh vegetables - corn right off the cobb, endamame, and green beans. It was VERY good and ample. Our waitress was friendly and visited with us. The atmosphere was fun and put us in our party mood...

We ate there twice last year (breakfast and lunch) and loved it :thumbsup2

As the other posters have said, great food, nicely sized portions, good service. Especially love the dessert offerings - yum! It's become one of our favorites.

Makes a nice break from MK :wizard:

Enjoy! Lin

We have been there for dinner twice, the food is amazing, the service is excellent and the ambiance is relaxing

LOVE it. Eaten there 3 times now and every time has been great. Personally I enjoyed eating at the bar the best, the bartender was one of the best I've seen anywhere, friendly non alcoholic drinks ( I was the only one out of 4 drinking) where always full. To be honest I think I talked to the bartender more then I did to the rest of my party. It is one of the few "must do" on our list.

We didn't have time to go there last week, but we went on our trip last year and really enjoyed it! Nice quiality and good service! There are some pictures in my signature if you want to see the food!

Shhhh... Stop telling everyone how good it is at the Wave. :rotfl: Now everyone will know our secret.

I guess I'll be the one negative. We didn't like it. Now I have to add that we were huge fans of the Concourse, having dined there for years and years. I felt the Wave had a "cafeteria" atmosphere and the tables were too close together. The best part was the entrance, IMHO. We like booths, but they only have them for parties of 5 or more. Our server was awesome. I will say that the service was excellent. My daughter and I both ordered the chicken pot pie and both of us didn't like it. Maybe if we ordered something else the food would have been better. We did like the dessert. I think that at least some of my opinion has to do with the fact that we really really loved Concourse, and miss the whole monorail watching and the wonderful booths that they had there. Basically I think you have to try a restaurant for yourself. You may love it and I hope you do!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

We ate there a couple of days ago and it was really great, one of our favorites of the trip.

I ate dinner last year for my birthday and it was wonderful. I had a yummy pasta dish with shrimp. It also came with clams I think but I asked for shrimp only as I don't love clams. My DH had the sutainable fish with edameme and it was GOOD. The food was fresh and it felt upscale.

My thanks to you all for your reviews on The Wave. We are going to WDW in 2 1/2 weeks with the dining plan. We have never experienced the dining plan before even though we are WDW veterans. The Wave fit into our plans for the day we are going but had not heard much about it. I am now looking forward to it.
Have a magical day (we are currently experiencing 7-11 inches of snow here in Minnesota so our visit cannot come soon enough).
