Trying to decide between these two restaurants for the night before my birthday in July. (Essentially my birthday dinner as the next night I am doing ROL Dessert Party.)

I have been to Skippers and love it. Have never been to The Wave but have heard good things. Not worried about missing the night show at MK.

Thoughts?

I love Skippers but traffic has picked up there so would suggest if you can't or don't want to eat early by 5pm or late dining after 7pm, then try the Wave. I say this because the greatest charm of Skippers is dining in the smaller SEA room or Library room. The mess hall is ok but loud and not as interesting. The last time I was here, I had an ADR for 5:30pm and ate in the mess hall for the first time. I was stuck in a back corner and missed the intimacy, quiet and fun details of the SEA room. Something to consider.

I like them both, but for a special occasion I would choose the Wave. It feels more upscale and celebratory than Skipper.

We LOVE the Wave. When we go, ressie or not, we ask to sit at the bar. You can get the full menu there and the bartenders are great! Give me an Old Fashioned with the Knob Creek Disney batch any day! :)
