Hi Just wondering if anyone has taken small children to the Wave? I am starting to feel bad about this adr. Would we be better off doing something more kid friendly like Ohanas? Is there any other fun dinner places?:rotfl: We are alreading doing cm and cp. I feel like we are just going to disney to eat. :rotfl:

When I was there there were lots of kids in there. Fun places would be any of the character places.

Don't feel guilty. You're already dining at two character meals. I think that's plenty. IMO, it is more fun for kids when the characters are special instead of expected at every meal.:goodvibes

Enjoy the Wave.

I think it is fine to take a young child to The Wave. We took our 2, 5 and 7 yr olds and it was great. Loved the food and so worth it!

We took our 8 and 6 year olds there about a week and a half ago, and it was great. It doesn't cater specifically to kids, but every restaurant at WDW is kid friendly to a degree (except V&A, I guess). Our server was great - she talked and joked with the kids throughout the meal. And we all thought that the kids menu there was one of the best we saw all week. So I say go and have a good time!

I can tell you first hand having too many characters can cause problems. I think we had a character breakfast every day and then on the 2nd to last day we went to Kona for some tonga toast! Well as usually DS was excited to go to breakfast. As I sat there waiting for our table I was like huh, I wonder if he is just excited cause he thinks he's gonna see mickey. We sit down for I don't know, 10 mins, DS looking around and around and around....It was apparent that he was looking for the characters. He made it thru the breakfast but it was sort of a pain cause he was mad I guess :rotfl:

We ate there with a 5 year old, 3 year old and 1 year old. It was fine. We only ended up there because the 3 year old turned out to be afraid of characters and I couldn't get in many places (last Sept during free dining) after we cancelled our adrs. The Wave was still pretty new then so we got an adr. Food was fine, desserts were good. I thought there was really no themeing (just the entrance) so it was not very exciting but it was ok. There were lots of kids there, so it is not like you will feel out of place. If something on the menu appeals to you then definitely go

DS 3 went everywhere last Sept- including Cali Grill and Citricos, and enjoyed being everywhere. He too was afraid of characters!!!! We typically limit our ADR's to one character breakfast.

In Disney, your kids are welcome everywhere (except of course, Victoria and Alberts, as PP mentioned!). It helps if they are used to going out to eat at home. go to Coral Reef during free dining, you would think half the place had never taken their kids out anyplace nicer than McDonalds! LOL!

My 4 yr old niece had a great time there. It was one of the only places (that we dined at) that she was able to make her own sundae for dessert.

We took my 4 yr old there in February - were staying in the Contemporary and checked it out on a whim. Loved it. Went back another time even.

My daughter did fine there - though she isn't the type of kid who requires dinner entertainment etc. She liked the blue light area of the cocktail/waiting room LOL!

Oh and she liked my fancy dessert trio and wanted me to trade that for her 'make your own dessert sundae/brownie'.
